Elvis couldn't get into a serious relationship with Ann-Margret; Priscilla was literally waiting for him at home. She'd been living at Graceland for years by then, although it was never publicized and no one knew about it till years after his death. Even though Priscilla was in the same house with him, and had been since about the age of 15 (!), almost certainly they didn't have sex till they were married in 1967.
Thanks for this upload, its one of my favourite scenes in the film. The Forte Four was formerly a gospel quartet group that went under the name of The Jubilee Four(I have one of their LPs) and prior to that they were known as The Jubilaires in the 1940s. If I am not mistaken, this great movie has the distinction of an African-American Gospel quartet having a scene in an Elvis film.
The song "The Climb" was wrtten by the dynamic duo, Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller.
@bronson1921 : hey thanks for this informative feedback! very interesting and always stunning what infos comes to front as a reaction to this video. thx and bye! R.
@tmamone83 From the special edition of this movie it was noted that those guys in the suits weren't really singing. They were singing to playback of another back up group. And I believe the commentator said they were white. Interesting. Good song.
@rowsdower12 That's correct. The group that actually performs that song is a surf rock group called The Forte Four. What is odd is that the gentlemen that were lipsyncing in the film WERE an actual singing group.
@acehighpat Yeah that is odd. Maybe they had a favor to sing for the movie. I think they had Elvis connections. which is a give-in. Regardless good stuff.
I remember watching this when I was about 8 or 9 & I remember watching it with my Papaw & I remember he always used to crack up at this part of the movie. Lol This is probably my 2nd favorite Elvis movie. The 1st would be Change of Habit (:
@rodeeman damn right mate...how many outside acts were ever shown in an Elvis movie? not many i bet....even big E knew these fellas were tight. once again <3 for this clip....i come back here often...peace :)
Great video, this song rocks! I had been wanting to have it on CD for a long time. Finally a few years ago they released a new updated version of the soundtrack with this song on it. It is from the Fallow That Dream series of releases. It has the entire version of the song on there. Elvis actually sings backup on the track.
thanks so much for putting this up. ive been looking all over the web for this scene of this movie. thats my grandfather 2nd man from the left. and its very hard to find the movies that he was in because how old they are. he was one of the orignal members of the Golden Gate Quartet. Willie(Bill)Johnson.

The leads singer is George MacFadden. The back up voices one hears are those of the Jordanaires, with Elvis´ also added, for extra measure
