  • Where is the best place to buy accesories, like if you run out of the cloth that you put on the end of the rod or if you need more cleaning lubricant?

Also,I have heard that Break Cleans works as.

    Thanks for the video,good job!!

  • You're wrecking the firing pin!!! Get a bore snake!

  • high caliber pistol its a fuckin 38 special go shoot a 500

  • im sorry but u dont know what the hell your talkeing about ive been a gunsmith for 32 years

  • 40 weight motor oil and Lucas oil treatment mix works better than any other gun oil that I have tried. I use an eye dropper to get into the tight spots.

  • and you just...shove it in there.. ;)

  • someone's a bit insecure about their sexuality lol.

  • Clean a 9mm this minimally... And it will jam every time.

  • Try cleaning a weapon that minimally and hand it to a Drill Instructor. And a LASER sight on a 6" .38 revolver? What's that word you used every sentence? Oh yeah... GAY.

  • Wait a minute you put a laser grip on a 6 inch revolver. That is kinda sacrilege.

  • wHAT KIND OF GRIPS DO YOU HAVE ON THAT MODEL 14

  • would you guys prefer a .38 special over a 9mm?? Which one has more stopping power and which is more reliable? I know that the 9mm Beretta is a pretty good brand that doesn't jam as much as the other pistols, then you also have the .38 special that doesn't jam at all as long as it is cleaned and taken good care of.

if anyone has some good suggestions on the .38 special vs 9mm would be helpful for me to decide on buying one. thank you :)

  • @Rated15R I don't know about 9mm, but I've had a S&W.38 for years. I've fired at least 2000 rounds out of it and never even had so much as a jammed cartridge. It's also a surprisingly accurate pistol. I also have a Taurus .38 snubnose that I love also. There's not a huge difference in slug size between 9mm and a .38. I keep 125gr. semi-jacketed hollowpoints loaded for home defense ( smaller load= less chance of bystander getting hurt). Hope this helps.

  • @timbemann

i was at the firing range yesterday and fired both the 9mm taurus and .38 s&w snubby. I loved how you can get an accurate shot with the 9mm, but then also I loved how much more power i felt from the .38 special. I guess how much loads won't count as long as you're an accurate shooter.

next question though, would you prefer a longer barrel for a .38 or a snubby?

  • @Rated15R I have both. I live in Missouri which is a conceal carry state and that's what the snubby is for. For pure shooting pleasure I prefer the standard barrel. As far as the load, I meant the smaller load was less likely to go right on through whomever you were shooting and into a neighbor or bystander's house.

  • @timbemann

how many inches is your .38?

  • Nice vid, just what I was looking for. TY.

  • the old .38's with the firing pin on hammer would fire if you dropped them. Im not sure if the modern .38's have this problem.

  • where is the magazine on this gun? Just kidding.

  • Very informative..thnks

  • Nice grips!

    What brand?

  • @stealthyshooter I believe they are houge, its not my weapon unfortunately

  • @SFCGrazier Then why are you cleaning it?

  • @stealthyshooter its a hogue buddy, you can get them on amazon for a fair price , got some for my S&W model 10

  • Thanks for this. I just bought my first gun, a S&W .38 Special just like yours (but in stainless steel). This information is exactly what I was looking for. I want this gun to last a lifetime.

  • You're making me cringe watching you jerk that copper brush around carelessly.

  • @xeotech1 I was thinking the same thing. If only the bore could talk...OUCH! lol

  • @dfgregoire This is the way I learned in the military

  • thank you for this video.

  • ive always fancied getting a semi auto as my first pistol but they seem a bit more complex and more of a hassle to breakdown/inspect/clean...etc i still love the c75b but i think a revolver is in my near future as well

  • @Taud Everyone I know told me that if you aren't familiar with handguns, your first should be a revolver. And if you're going to do that, this one is a good choice.

And yeah, I want a CZ75 too. Handled one a while back and fell in love with it.

  • Why ta word Crap so much....soild gun doe buddy

  • Your pounding the back of the gun with the bore brush needlessly. Also, that gay thing is used after the bore brush to absorb the loose grime you loosened with the brush so the less pressure the better cause you want the grime (CraP) to adhere to the pad not stuck to the bore walls under pressure. Mine is 31 years old so take care of it and it will take care of you....

  • Found some 14 dollar ammo at walmart. The wrapping method works very well, but HOW do you clean your bristle brush??

  • @unlitdarkness6 You can run it through a diswasher, just make sure you tie it down or something, or use compressed air an blow out the oil.

  • @SFCGrazier you think that will work? I might even try that.

  • @chrissyboy129 Yeah it does I tried it a few days ago

  • What model Smith is that? K-38?, Model 10?, Model 15?

  • @enigma800 Check the sights it can't be a 10.

  • @p00pl0rd LOL, you're right. The 10 has fixed sights, this one has adjustable.

  • Finally got to shoot my Rossi r351 3" at the range. Went through two boxes of 158 shells Monarch SJHP and a box of reloads. The cleaning kit i have is Hoppes No 9. It came with Solvent and Lubricating oil, patches and a rod. Was this a good choice. Will this double as "bore cleaner" and rem oil, or should i use lubricating oil there? And why are you coating the rod brush?

Also, can you recommend and 158 grain ammo thats fairly inexpensive? The cheapest i can get at the store is 16-17 bucks.

  • @unlitdarkness6 Yeah thats a good kit. If you are getting that ammo for that price you should be fine. I dont know much about that caliber but that seems like the price it should be at.

  • @SFCGrazier thanks

  • and you said in your other video you should cock the hammer back every shot. Why is that?

  • @unlitdarkness6 It makes the trigger pull lighter and you will shoot more accurately, now if you are being shot at you may not be able to lol, but its good practice.

  • im sorry, but is that a blue finish?

  • @mephy777 yes

  • hi,i have a a much smaller revolver (.38 years, but its in mint condition,it was my dads.special) now i have a cleaning kit that i have yet to use,and it only came with "cleaner lubricant preservative" a silicone gun a reel cloth, cotton patches, and of course all of the other like bore brush and all the things.is this enough to cllean it?it hasnt been taken out for about 30

  • @ganitywaltz years and it was my dads but it is in mint condition not even any dust on it and was kept in a vault

  • @ganitywaltz also,i think it may be called break free clp not the other thing sorry

  • is it okay to use wd-40?

  • @marvzkyshitzky you can but it would be better to use rem oil or something a little better. Its fine though.

  • whats guns would you recamend for me like whats brand of 38 special

  • @coltenandscott Colt makes a good 38 special and same with taurus

  • @SFCGrazier How about Rossi's 38?

  • @coltenandscott I would go with a Smith & Wesson every time. Colt's are as good but tend to cost more than a Smith. I Think that is due to sheer numbers. If you can get a deal on a Colt, great. For a first .38 you can't go wrong with a Smith & Wesson Model 10 or a Colt Official Police with a 4 inch barrel. Both are common (the Model 10 esp.) and are usually found as police trade-ins, meaning holster wear but little actual wear! I would take a used Smith or Colt rather than a new cheepo!

  • how doesthat gun shoot vause my dad is going to buy me a 38 special for me and him so what you recamend besides a smith and wesson

  • @coltenandscott Colt is great, Taurus is good. Are you just wanting a 38 special revolver?

  • hi, my me38 is completely rusted and i can release the chamber the button is jammed any advice??

  • @qsalma71 drench it in rem oil or ballistol and get a hard bristle brush, if that does not work try a metal brush, and if that does not work get a rust remover.

  • No offense, I like your videos but you half assed it. Just sprayin rem oil in the cavities, and cleaning the cylinder.

  • @HiCapacity Yes I did dude lol. We only fired I believe 60 rounds maximum through it, so I kinda just gave the person an Idea how to do it. Glad you like my vids man, very few people like me because of my age.

  • @SFCGrazier Don't mention it. I'm only twenty and I own six guns of my own. Age doesn't matter.

  • @HiCapacity thats what I try to tell some people.

  • @SFCGrazier You are how old ?

  • @HiCapacity 16

  • @SFCGrazier No wonder people give you shit. You can't legally buy anything. I'd suggest you don't go around saying the regulated firearms are yours. Get your parents in trouble....... Keep up the good work though. Check out my videos.

    Mike

  • @HiCapacity Oh I dont give a shit I will keep doing it lol

  • @SFCGrazier Your parents are going to go to the slammer if someone hears. I'm serious. Happens all the time.

  • @HiCapacity Dude I am not trying to argue with you because you have been subbed forever, I have been taking law classes and I am in CP Street Law and I asked my teacher about this and he is a retired lawyer and he said me or my parents are in no danger, I thought about it before hand and I am fine. If someone even tried to take me to court they would loose without question. About three months ago we had a Mock Trial case on a kid who shot himself and the parents got out of it. I am in no danger

  • @SFCGrazier I'm not trying to argue with you either, but it IS in fact illegal for your parents to buy you regulated weapons, a shotgun, fine, a 22, fine, pistols, no. I'm being a buddy and letting you know it's seriously illegal.

  • @HiCapacity oh well they are not buying them for me at all. These guns arent even mine, the are my Girl friends dads guns except maybe a few.

  • @HiCapacity Oh I dont give a shit I will keep doing it lol

  • Why did you spray the oil into the hammer area. I have a 629 classic with crimson laser grip and I just take the grip and then the side plate off to oil the internals and it works well especially when I use hoppes elite gun oil on the internals.

  • @traingp7 so I don't have to field strip it

  • yeah I stinks a bit. CTC are my favorite type of laser.

  • ya man you right nice vid

  • thanks man!

  • so can you ever clean it.... too much? Sometimes i get nervous and anal about being sure everything perfect, cause I know im so good at fucking up! lol.

And could you list all the things you need for this in the info and where you bought them?

Thanks man and great video! Just inherited a .38 special from my dad thats been siting for a while and I cant wait to take it out!

  • You can never over clean a gun, but if you do clean your guns a lot like i mean a lot just let them sit for a day before you go shooting. There is no danger its mainly to just let the rem oil to soak in. Yeah sure bud i will write everything you need and where i bought it.

  • Thanks man thats beyond perfect! Imma get that baby shined and taken out tomorrow to celebrate finals being OVER.... 200 rounds worth

    Youre really helpful, great vid

  • hey man so glad that i could help

  • holy shit i hate living in california... where our walmarts dont have ANYTHING gun related in their stores, including everything on your list... even the brush! Luckily I hit the Big 5 down the street and got "Hoppe's 9" pistol cleaning supplies, s&w bore and action cleaner, and some break free.

  • really?!! wow dude that sucks. if you like rem oil just go to a gun shop, or look online like amazon or something like that.

  • LOL......

Yes bro, the part about all products being made in China IS fuckin' gay.....

Good vid, straight and to the point...

Some low-lifes broke int my truck on Christmas Eve....I would have loved to catch em in the act....I would have popped a hot one in their asses without thinking..

I'd probably be in jail right now too though..

This incident got me thinking about sleeping with my gun close, so I needed to be sure to get it in proper working order.

  • definitely dude, you should look at getting your CCP

  • I would if I didn't happen to live in IL. We have the most rediculous gun laws in the country...

I'm from a suburb of Chicago at least, cuz in the city, you can't even register your weapon, hence it is illegal to have it.

So basically, you're not allowed to protect yourself in the city of Chicago....

    BULLSHIT....

  • total bull crap dude, that should be against the law

  • thanks bro, i never cleaned a gun before and this showed me the way

    all hail the 2nd amendment

  • hey man thats why i do this. i love helping people out and i am very glad that you learned something from my videos. i totally agree with you on the second amendment haha

  • a china man also did me wrong on a business deal recently, so your comment about china also made me happy

    don't ask why i'm cleaning my .38

joking (only cause he's in china!) :)

  • rem oil still rocks just cleaned my beretta with it................

  • great vid little bro.....nice blend of old school 38 Smith with the crimson trace grips......5 stars....

  • thanks man

  • another good thing for cleaning is pipe cleaners they are great for cleaning the firing pin channel

  • really i will have to check that out. sounds good dude thanks for the comment.
