@halogirlelite Guerin did retire, but before he retired he was considering coming back for another year if the Pens wanted him. He wasn't offered a contract, so he retired. Gonchar was offered a contract by the Pens but he chose Ottawa instead (good choice...pffft)

i know this is off subject but ive always wondered this as a kid....you know when a team wins the cup..or the conference final..they get the hats and shirt...well it took time to make those and they certainly made them for the other team...what happens to the losing teams..its a dumb question i know .. but it would be cool to have a Vancouver Canuck 1994 stanley cup champion Hat or something..ill check ebay or something

Good question..Espn 360 had a story about this same topic. All the pro leagues work with charities that send the shirts, hats, etc. to 3rd world countries and give them to people in need. It was strange to see all the people they were showing were wearing the patriots 19-0 undefeated super bowl champion shirts. It would be cool to get some of the losing teams stuff on ebay but the leagues make sure that it doesn't happen. although I'm sure there are a few that have to be floating around..

Hey man, great series and thanks for the kind words. You have nothing to be ashamed of in this one. The Hossa media flap was BS. He was a good player for us, but he was only a Pen for a short time. Guys come and go and you kind of expect that a guy that comes on for a one year deal is going to chase the cash.
