AFL= BEST SPORTS EVER. Amazingly some American think NFL is better. NFL is a good sport but AFL has more skill and can take more hits.

@RobinHoodTragic, it does not make them look as wimps. First of all, and by judging this video, there is hardly any hard tackling in AFL and when there is it is not as physical as American football. In the NFL players use helmets and pads for protection because the tackles are more brutal, but, by the same token, that protective equipment is used many times a weapon to hurt other players and that is why American football has more injuries (per football season) than any other sport.

Australian rules football is quite exciting once you know the rules. (I am American BTW.) I can't belive they can climb on each other and it is legal! One thing. In the Australian Football Playoffs (or whatever you call them) and Grand Final if a game is tied after 4 quarters is there Overtime? I know they tie (draw) in the regular season.

its happened twice, once in 1977 between Collingwood and North (north won the next week) im not sure when the other one was.

any other final (like elimination, semi and preliminary) just goes into 10 minute extra time (5 mins each way)...then repeating that process until there is a winner.

its good to hear people are watching the game over seas hopfully one day it will really start take off in other countries.

@wickkk incorrect. The league broke away from the VFA in 1897, so the VFL/AFL has been around for 113 years. The VFA didn't start until about 10 years after Melbourne Football Club, the original club, formed in 1858. So only Melbourne, Geelong and now Carlton can claim the 150 year tag.

bruce mcavaney and denis cometti have been great comentators through out the ages but they are out of touch now, actually to be honest i think they are pretty crap now. although i guess channel 7 are just crap in general when it comes to footy. so glad the grand final is back on ten this year.
