  • I hope he didn't get E.T. cuz we know that game sucks ass

  • He's startlingly yellowish...

Atari, we're so generous, we'll give you a crappy overstocked game if you buy our console

  • Fuck all of ya comments except fer mine

  • io ce l'hoooooooo!!!!!! ;)

  • Alcards quest f*** u

  • Nintendo did not save the world fuckass

  • @MrVintageFan Yes they did.

  • glad I grew up with Nintendo and not this

  • @AcidBurn5009 atari had some good shit for its time though. frogger, pitfall, etc,, nintendo did save the gaming world though, granted.

  • He looks like RWJ^^

  • all i got from that was that i shouldnt buy any gaming console... starts with a console next thing u know it im playing educational games with my kids on its console specific keyboard with built in charger which came with a 50% discount on console cooler with extra controllers and a consolation teddy bear... the list goes on..

  • Free Pacman :V

  • Lucky Bastard

  • lol we had one and we just gave it away for 20 bucks we had no idea how much we could have sold it -_-

  • @darkespeon64 20$ is not that bad, most of the time you can get it for about half of it - but if it's boxed with lot of games then yes, that could be sold up for more... :D

  • FOR NAW?

  • Nintendo gave away a free Mario game to show the system's capabilities.

Sega gave away a free copy of Sonic the Hedgehog to get the edge on the home market.

Atari gave away a free copy of Pac-Man because it sucked ass.

  • A system that is newer then another comes with superior gfx, its called technology improvement. The 2600 was 8 bit just like the NES but it was made on a tight budget with 8k memory in total and built mainly for Combat and Pong. Like Atari said anything after that was a bonus, however programers began developing tricks with their code and started making more complex games. NES and so on used gfx accelerator chips freeing up CPU cycles the 2600 did not as the CPU controlled everything. Facts win

  • And in the end, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft copies Atari xD

  • no wonder pacman for atari 2600 sucks because it was FREE!

  • All for 9 999$ only.

  • Everything apart from ET. The desert can have that.

  • i want an atari 2600 system and everything that goes with it; that DOESNT suck. Oh, then nothing? OK.

  • @strawhataddison warlords with 4 people playing was bad ass, it still is now...

  • @Mellowbuzz1974

early 1970's Magnavox Odyssey is the very first game console

it started it all and set the pace for the gaming industry we have

  • Free Pac-Man :3

  • people should stop hating on atari because atari is much better than nintendo

  • @nkmetossa

you should have explained why Atari was better than Nintendo

  • my brother owned this man. Multiplayer

  • oops i mean what

  • i wondr wahat would be the total price for all that in the 1980s

  • lol!! Pac Man, the start of Atari's downfall!

  • grose. atari. lol. space invaders was good though.

  • He forgot the driving controller.

  • They made the keyboards "built in" with the Atari 400/800 personal computer.

  • I still have my Atari 2600, and the only accessory that came out from this commercial was the "track ball". The keyboard and mostly all other software was later introduced with the Atari 5200. Commodore got the jump on Atari with the Vic 20.

  • Is that Paul Rodriguez?

  • @choice2099 yup

  • I don't remember the Keyboard! what was it for????

  • Does anyone remember how much one of these consoles would have cost? I had the later 2600 which was beige/brown when I was about 10 (1988) and seem to remember games were about $20 each for new titles.

I bought a Nintendo in 1990 from our supermarket but kept playing Atari because the games were cheaper.

  • @TheAussieStig30 They were $99 typically. Later on they dropped price to $49 if I remember correctly.

  • Is that a wireless controller ??

  • I remember 2 or 3 years ago someone posted a comment here saying "Is that George Lopez?" If anyone can find that comment, tell me who posted it and give me the page number. I will give them a digital pie.

  • @Richard1952Tele There were several comments like that. A suggestion would be to click "view all comments" and search for George Lopez with the Find button.

  • Well, he asked for it.

  • DO-DEE-DO-DOO! bam bam bam bam sweesh sweesh!

  • "plus a free Pac-Man" .... you mean, Pac-man game, lol

  • Of course Pac Man was free, they probably have trouble even giving that POS game away.

  • Fuck D= i miss my childhood x-x :(((( OLD times had the most fun D:

  • When he says "for now" it would be funny if he also said "and I might need help getting all of this to my car"

  • See the remotes with an antenna? I'm starting to think Atari were the first to make the wireless remote.

  • This was the funniest game commecial I've ever seen aside from sega does what nintenDON'T lol

  • and that'll be... 236050 dollars. exact change please

  • I JUST BOUGHT ONE :O

  • Just picked up an atari 2600 today, not with everything but it's a start, shame pacman is awful on it

  • FREEEE PACCCK MAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D!!!!

  • Screw the PS3 I WANT THE ATARI 2600 NOW!!!

  • Actually the nice thing about the older systems is that they didn't have multiplayer unless you invited your friends to come over, nowadays you can do everything by yourself online, which kinda sucks. Simple is best IMO.

  • wow yea i would love all of those games but...you can keep the pac man

  • plus a free Pac-Man!

  • What they didn't say is that if you get everything it cost 1000 dollars, You could get it in a garage sale with everything for 20 bucks.

  • Don't forget the beta and homebrew games!!!!!

  • Oh man, how I do remember this commercial.

  • I wish I was alive at that time so I could collect all the older games...

  • look at that, he's getting stacks of shit

  • Fuck Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! I want an Atari 2600 with everything, and I mean everything!!!

  • Haha. He looks like a Lego man.

  • Free PacMan FTW!

  • I have that trackball!

  • That system was pretty cheap price considering an old dated psp system is still selling for like $149.99

  • I wonder how much he has to pay, HAHA!

  • Three hundred?

    That's nothing!

    That's something )=

    But is not everything! (=

  • Atari 2600. It's like a brick... You can play with inside.

  • @KraigLicious lol @ u, u dont even make sense

  • "plus a free pac man!".... keep the pac man, I already have a paper weight. . lol...

  • Voice Module?! They never had one! LOL

  • I saw a Atari 2600 at the flea market today. I didn't ask how much because it looked like someone threw it out a window then took a dump on it XD

  • @thespore101BACKUP It sersly did :o

  • @TheAmazingMirror :O. Well, i think it shouldve at least been cleaned up a bit so someone would buy the peice of junk o3o.

  • @thespore101BACKUP ITS NOT JUNK its history, but also the dude looked like he was 100

  • @TheAmazingMirror Im not calling the whole thing junk LOL. Im calling that indevidual one junk :P

  • @thespore101BACKUP lol ok XD

  • I watched this twice cos its a pretty damn good. Character actors, goofy music, and nostalgia. Well made. Great commercial.

  • Now for the price...

  • and a free pacm...

  • Dig those wireless controls, good way to build up your arm muscles.

  • Too bad it's a free pac-man and not a combat

  • dont forget the porn games!

  • @JUSTSAYAH1972

"custer's revenge" was probably in that stack of games that just slid in out of nowhere:)

  • Plus a free Pac MAN!

  • He asked for everything so he must have gotten Custer's Revenge

  • I WANT THE MOTHERFUCKING TRACKBALL.

  • and don't forget the porn games

  • nes is the best atari

  • @pastergeorge09 ....wait a minute!

  • @pastergeorge09 What the...

  • @pastergeorge09 NES is nintendo

  • iwant Atari 2600,i hate PS3,xbox 360 and wii

  • imagine taking all that crap home

  • this commercial made parents go crazy

  • and that will total to $799.99 sir

  • @thevideogamenerd100 Ugh......fine! >.<

*reaches in his wallet and pulls out $800 in 100s* Jeeeze I hope this is well worth it!!!.

(40 years later) Ebay Bidder: I will give you $5000.00 for your Atari and everything that goes with it!.

LordZacknafien: YOU SIR GOT A DEAL!!!!. =D

  • @LordZacknafien pretty nice dude.

  • My dad paid 45 bucks for that Pac Man new when I was a kid...what a rip that was!

  • I wonder if I can play Skyrim on that console? xD xD

  • from 1982

  • I love that guy! He's like a parent who wants to buy his kid a video game console and has no idea what they actually are! Kinda reminds me of my parents! Imagine how he would buy an Xbox 360 with everything today!

  • Im 8 and what is this

  • @cymrutroll

A commercial for the Atari 2600. It's a video game system from the 70's.

  • @UnsureSquid its from the 80's

  • @356AngryNerd

Created in the 70's. Look it up before correcting me.

  • @UnsureSquid okay mommy

  • PAC MAN SUCKS!

  • ~is this everything?

    -for now

    ~...for now?

    poor man xd

  • It must have taken 100 takes to get it right, the timing of the dialogue is way fast, and get all the piles all perfectly right.

  • i bet E.T wasent on that pile of games...

  • @lolzvid fuck no they burnt E.T

  • Free Pac-man? You couldn't pay me to play that accursed game!

  • me:i want everything that comes with the atari 2600 please/ cashier:are you sure you want everything?/ me:yes please/ *see's him put all those games on the counter and the extra's O.O* /cashier: cash or charge? /me:ummmm yea i'll come back later

  • You don't get all those free with an Atari 2600. Best you could hope for is a free cartridge and instructions.

  • Remote control joysticks...wow....didn't know they had those available then. Amazing what games are like now compared to when I used these old timers.

  • remote control joystick! look at that arial how far do people plan to play it from their tv?

  • funny thing is now a days you can put all the games on a usb that fits in a wallet lol

  • @snes317 for free! hahaha

  • Atari Pac Man. Horrible. Atari Donkey Kong. Even worse. Colecovision was the best game around, but timing is everything.

  • that guy looks and sounds like Roy Brocksmith. the dood who was the doctor in total recall who tries to convince arnie hes still in the recall dream.. Roy Brocksmith is dead now diabetes.

  • Did the wireless remotes and keyboard ever see market?

  • @bryonlape The keyboard, IIRC, was sold with the BASIC language cartridge. The wireless controllers were made, but were extremely bulky to avoid interference with eachother and sold poorly.

  • @bryonlape: I don't think the keyboard did. There was a BASIC cartridge with a clunky controller that allowed you to input things (and some third party ones), but the keyboard (Atari Graduate, look it up) wasn't released

  • ......... For now?

  • "So your total comes to $2000 sir."

"Oh hell I can't afford that"

"But you can get $30 of rebate offers.."

    "Just forget it."

  • I think this commercial was made after the video game crash of 83

  • 0:28 Uh no thanks, I really don't want it

  • it came with a keyboard??? what for??? for msn?

  • what if you want "ET go come"

  • I dont want an xbox 360, I want an ATARI 2600

  • @erickmaiden13 Are you sure?!?

  • i fuckin loved that damn console and yes defender rocks

  • I love those radio controlled joysticks.

  • i've got all of this on my laptop...

  • My atari 2600 came with the combat game,I thought missile command was the best game though.

  • trakball sux tho

  • c'mon people E.T. was a good game! just.......nobody could figure out how to play it right

  • @randomdude581 I figured out how to play E.T with my hockey stick as a kid.

  • Ahh... The times of my dad and mom. I personally grew with the 64 and my uncle's snes, I compare the consoles and DAMN, they've changed.

  • The keyboard for Atari was actually released?!

  • is that paul rodriguez?

  • cara de peteco

  • "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!"

  • Atari 2600 graphics were crap (for most of their games) even for the era it first came out in. Virtually ALL their games were ugly to look at.

  • @Satchel334 your mom was ugly to look at but i made you didn't i?

  • yes well give you everything except your manhood for playing an atari in your 20's back

  • did anyone notice that the seller has three arms?

  • I am sure all that cost just over $400. The price of one gaming system now. LOL

  • Atari 2600 best game console ever. Forget the graphics. It is about the ideas. And they where the first with many game ideas. Atari, true inventer and innovator -__-

  • This commercial is better than most game commercials today.

  • @iWATCHITT sadly :-(

  • Is that everything?

Yeah! Right up until 1983 when Atari gets butt-fucked by Nintendo!

  • @omglollmao123 and then in 1989 nintendo gets butt-fucked by the sega genesis

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @metalmaiden999

the Sega Master System console shitted all over the NES console

  • @omglollmao123 Well in 83 they got butt fucked more by other factors commonly summed up with "North American video game crash of 1983". The NES was introduced in Japan in 83, but it was quite some time later that Nintendo got real big in the US.

  • dint know bruno mars' father endorsed atari

  • thats a lot of stuff, i want!

  • Voice module and computer keyboard eh? I don't believe those were ever made, and also at 0:21 I didn't know the Atari 2600 could play 32X games lol

  • Video game systems are cheap today by comparison...in the 70's they sold VCR's for $1,000 and crappy boom boxes for $300!!!

  • Imagine this with a wii...

think how many games and accessories will this have and other stuff

  • check out the ariels on those cordless joy sticks lol

  • @punji73 first wireless controller

  • @jubjub444 yeah compared to the wireless D pads of today they are so primative

  • @punji73 I had them and yes, they were like the old walkie-talkies. Not to mention the base station looked like a pair of VHF rabbit ears.

  • @moosemaimer they had a base station? i thought maybe it was just a tiny little piece of plastic that plugged into the joystick socket lol

  • Whoa... I want the trackball and the keyboard!

  • HE was trying to show off, now he's at home still playing 2600 to this date, has not finished even half the games.
