I Whitesnake e gli Europe il 23 luglio 2008 faranno un concerto a Palazzolo sul Brenta(PD). Inizieranno a suonare Live alle 21.30 all'anfiteatro Camerini! Chi viene al concerto con me???
come on now everybody! years do take away from what "especially" a lead singer is able to do! with that said i thought the vocals were very good, "yes" not the same david coverdale, but lets be freakin stoked these awesome bands still wanna take a bite out of what is now a quiet rock n roll scene and era!
The song is cool, but the band just freakin' rocks!! Coverdale is probably the only singer I know that I'm not afraid or ashamed to say that he really does sound better now than ever.
You must have not heard Glenn Hughes lately. Glenn sounds better now than 30 years ago - DC's voice tends to really fade a few weeks into a tour. He is still good but nowhere near his best of the classic early 80's WS days.
It is probably also a matter of studio tricks and production, but all the live recordings of DC I've heard (from beginning to the last reunion) sucked BAD, unlike the last DVD, which might be edited, but he's still got it. And his voice is in much better shape and has a nicer tone nowadays.
I'd never judge any singer by a studio or official live recording (which are all doctored anyway - you can bet Coverdale re-did most of those DVD vox in the studio). Hell, Ozzy even manages to cheat live w/ either backing tapes he sings along to or hidden ghost co-singers. Glenn and Dio are the only ones of the old guard that still bring it every night - Coverdale, Halford and Gillan do not in terms of range.
My band, Heed, in Redding, Cali, played a show last night that featured Uriah Duffy on Bass guitar with the Danny Jones Band!! It was OFF THE HOOK!! Uriah is one of the best bassists I've ever seen!! He ROCKED the house!!
Uriah is a bass monster indeed. Check out him out with his Bay Area his Flametal - crazy mix between Paco deLucia and thrash metal. His girlfriend is also a smoking bass player who plays with Flametal as well.
it's obviously written in a higher key, so he sings higher, he can still do the lower range stuff..check out the DVD, Live In The Still Of The Night..it's excellent.
Vocal-wise this is subpar for Coverdale - no warmth, no soul in his voice. Just a bunch of shrill screeching as if it was 1987. The song itself is pretty cool and rocks, the guitars are great, but it's no WS classic.
yeah dave's voice isn't the same, but this sounds like it came from the slip of the tongue album!! i love it! stickin to wat made them famous (KICK ASS SOLO TOO)
Had it been released as a bonus track for Slip of the Tongue with a different guitarist than Vai nobody would have said that it sucks. Now if only there was a new group with similar potential playing with them in a world tour we would be in heaven...
In my opinion, I do feel Dave's voice has changed considerably over the years, but I feel he is a better *singer* now than ever; this doesn't always show on record but it certainly does live. This Whitesnake lineup can't be mocked - they're all killer players and at least they're trying to make their sound a little more contemporary while still staying true to their roots.
this makes me ready to rock! these guys still have attitude and they really rock, let assholes have theis opinions. WS is best hardrock band in the world, that's a fact.
David Coverdale is the BEST rock vocalist that still does the music justice to this day. He does sound a bit like Robert Plant here. Though, in response to somebody saying he sounds shrill, sounding as good or (in my opinion) better than plant in his prime is nothing to criticize. He's awesome. Period.
Don't get me wrong everybody, I'm the biggest Coverdale Fan. But I'd have to agree, This is not Daves Best Work, whether its the song or just the way they recorded dave vocals,or Him maybe just getting older, or maybe just to much touring..Dave does not sound like he use to..
honestly people, listen to all of the Old Whitesnake Albums & compare the the Vocals...Over All, this does not even come close to Coverdales earlier work.
Only one of these guys had anything to do with "inventing" hard rock, and that's David Coverdale. And by god has he gone soo far from all that.. he sounds shrill and artificial, a poor shadow of his former self - and I know what I'm talking about, having beeb a fan and followed his career for over 25 years now. I saw this line-up live about a year ago and it was a fucking cabaret. What a shame.
It's an opinion, not a fact. Anything to do with inventing ? Maybe you need to search a lil' more on Tommy Alridge, Reb Beach and Doug Aldrich biography. They've been part of big bands since the 80's. I think they're awesome and they do justice to the old whitesnake songs, and this new one rocks.
great job... these guys sounds very good, expecially Reb and Doug.. Tommy lost his 'animal' kind of thing on this track.. btw, great tune.. hope to see these guys live, they're still great
i tabbed this song and i uploaded to youtube>>>>this is the link :

What the hell happened to Coverdale's voice? He sounds so high and shrill now. He had such an awesome bluesy soulful voice in the Deep Purple days.
