  • whose shit idea was it to keep panning it from side to side?

  • long before President Bush, either Junior or Senior

  • my bad, the song was written in 1962-63

  • Anyone around during Vietnam knows the obvious reference would be to the US. The song was released in 1976, correct? Vietnam had just ended, and the song wwas no doubt written about and during this time. Having said that, the images are entirely appropriate of Hitler, Stalin and the rest of the commies who murdered so many. How can anyone defend 100 million dead by communism?

  • Bush, Regan and every other president of the US who was or still is in war should be on those pictures instead. We can fight against war only if we start cleaning mess in front of our door. I said fight because this is not a pacifist song, Dylan said to masters of the war "I hope that you die" and 'I'll watch while you're lowered down to your deathbed' Those masters of war were around him. Why would you use old photos of very known and dead dictators when you have hidden and active present ones

  • Nauseating cover that seems to last forever...puaghhh

  • ECHO! ECHo! ECho! Echo! echo!

  • @bambarus anything showing the negativity of war is enough. but palestine would be nice...

  • @bambarus you are right

  • Screw you politicians

I'd like to see you (George Bush, Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and every other coward out there) with a gun in the frontline.

  • sounds like john prine cover might be wrong

  • You dumb ass, this was written during the Cold War and u got WW2 stuff.

  • damn man this is shitty

  • holy fuck. there are 60 covers of this song on youtube but not the original version.

  • And remember Kids: When they say "come along, we've got to fight for liberty" be sure to ask liberty for what and for whom. Because liberty, freedom, and democracy are just words there'll always be words.

  • 8==========================D O:<

  • I think you madea mistake in translation: "I do not want you to know" instead of "I want you to know" so thanks for the lyrics. sorry if my English is bad...

    PEACE

  • RESISTANCE 3

  • keep on rockin in the free world

  • The real war masters are the bankers who finance wars for profit. Then there are the humans who create, design and manufacture weapons and other machines that are made to kill, for profit...(like guns, missiles etc). Then there are the citizens of the attacking nation who support their governments while the commit murder (democracy = you're responsible).

  • A great song. I just hope I'm not upsetting anyone, but I genuinely believe that both Bush junior & Tony Blair should be excluded from the video as tyrants of war. These two men have really rid us the Kurds of another thirty years of genocide and sheer state terror and I'll remain grateful to them and to their peoples as long as I live.

  • Where are the american warlords?

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it.

  • hitler, stalin, china, ho chi min, sadam??? where are the REAL, masters of war ment in this song? the USA. & ISRAHELL???

  • @cliffhammond

click the'speech-bubble' icon below. They all disappear.

  • i like this song but i hate the notes he uses

  • Really annoying wobble in the sound.

  • We cant get Bob, we gotta suffer cover after cover:(

  • the first picture is kinda disturbin

  • good rendition of the Bard.... echo to good effect on this number ..... nice job

  • Great job, thank you. Posting pictures of B52's carpet-bombing Viet Nam would be a very appropriate addition to this video.

@ PrepsAndEmosSucks - I think Dylan was writing about what was beginning to be called the 'military industrial complex', specifically people that profited from the business of killing other people. Not Eisenhower.

  • %people dont igve 2 shits about inocent people dieing

  • One of the best covers on youtube, but it did make me a bit dizzy with my headphones on...probably would be just as good without the vox fx...Great job as is, though, for sure. Nice work.

  • SICK!! Intense and trippy

  • my man holy crap ur good keep it up.

  • props! good version dude!, you got a good voice for this song...are you fimiliair with The Staple Singers version? if not you should check that shit out!

  • ironic that you showed a picture of nazis, but this song was written in hatred of iesenhower, who was the allied commander in world war II

  • Does anyone know who is singing this?

  • that would be me :)

  • @Max0017 Bob Dylan

  • Thank you -

    posted on libertypoet(dot)com

  • now, this is not bob dylan...??? it is good, but why put dylan's name, put the name of the one that is singing dylan's song...be straight

  • @izzigogo er... that's why it says 'cover'

  • the beast

  • BOB DYLAN WAS GREAT.

  • Well done! I love the beautifully understated vocals. Kudos to you.

    unglaublich

  • whoa! i like that ending.

  • It's...different. I like it.

  • Gave me chills. Great, great cover, Joe.

  • A great cover Joe ! The Master would like

it too, I'm certain. Great new sound happening but I hope you will still continue to make video's using your old format. I'm a sucker for non digitised effects and technology - but you'll always sound great whatever formats you use!

    5/5

  • "HEY JOE' really good to hear you with a totally different sound. I love this cover !

Hope everything's well down in Dunedin!

    10 / 10 .

  • Where to start...is the last picture from a novel cover of 1984? Like it. Also liked your next step forward. It has way too much echo though (new toys are fun but novelties pall). So something has been gained (pun) while something has been lost.

The predominantly b&w photography has maintained your brand of feel, which is nice, although the constant starkness can get a tad depressing after a while. Hope you are happy and lighten up a bit on the next one.

  • I disagree.

I think the echo complimentsa his accent well.

it makes it all the more trippy and haunting.
