The bottom line is that world markets are directly tied to the price of groceries. It is not far fetched to assume that food prices could rise in response to market changes. Buying non-perishable foods now is going to be cheaper than buying them in a year. As long as you eat the food you buy, there is no way you can lose money by stocking up.

A few extra cans of food in your cupboard won't last more than a few days. Try a few DOZEN cases to start off with, and keep going! I live in a little 2 bedroom apt, and I've got 200lbs. of rice, 160lbs of beans, dozens of cases of canned soups, stews, veggies, fruit, etc. Canned food keeps for decades, you can ignore the 'Use by' date. I also store 150 gal. of water. My bedroom has food stacked all along one wall, under the bed, in the closet. If you want to have food to eat, MAKE ROOM FOR IT!

The locals enjoy the extra work and are already good at sustainable ag. ahh im lucky enough because i have nice garden where i grow beans and courgettes, and have apple and pear trees, and i live near the sea where i can fish and my neighbour has chickens to give me eggs to grow my own. people should try to find a garden, even if its just in pots on their window edge. it is much better to eat these kinds of foods with no preservatives any way.

The bottom line is that world markets are directly tied to the price of groceries. It is not far fetched to assume that food prices could rise in response to market changes. Buying non-perishable foods now is going to be cheaper than buying them in a year. As long as you eat the food you buy, there is no way you can lose money by stocking up.

A few extra cans of food in your cupboard won't last more than a few days. Try a few DOZEN cases to start off with, and keep going! I live in a little 2 bedroom apt, and I've got 200lbs. of rice, 160lbs of beans, dozens of cases of canned soups, stews, veggies, fruit, etc. Canned food keeps for decades, you can ignore the 'Use by' date. I also store 150 gal. of water. My bedroom has food stacked all along one wall, under the bed, in the closet. If you want to have food to eat, MAKE ROOM FOR IT!

You dont need to be a rich as Jim to own a farm that sustains your family. We bought a Biospharm in central America and have it being tended while we are away in preperation of a collapse. The locals enjoy the extra work and are already good at sustainable ag. When the SHTF in the US no one will know how to grow anything and Monsanto has the food monopolies so hooked on crude oil to grow that when that game comes to an end it will be ugly. Buy seeds or a Biospharm as early as you can.

ahh im lucky enough because i have nice garden where i grow beans and courgettes, and have apple and pear trees, and i live near the sea where i can fish and my neighbour has chickens to give me eggs to grow my own. people should try to find a garden, even if its just in pots on their window edge. it is much better to eat these kinds of foods with no preservatives any way.
