  • beautiful loser. Had it all, threw it away. So many are grateful for so much less. I feel sorry for her tragedy, but she was her own worst enemy.

  • This is the most beautiful and realistic statement of Edie, she was pure LOVE, simply put, and we are only able to judge others within the context of our own life experiences, mine was similar to hers, I just wished that I would have met her...

  • what we see and preceive in this world is simply not all thier is to a whole story, life, She did not die in any way other than complete love and in the understanding of not only who she was but her purpose in both life and love, nothing can be seen other than what one preceives it to be to them each definition defined by ones own life and views of such She was Love pure simple and unbound in any way i remember huging her and the feeling could not

even be explained in this realm by these terms

  • now i know what haircut to get

  • Edie didn't give a s--t about what people think .... kinda freedom but so lonely inside ....

  • a beautiful mess

  • andy destroyed her.

  • Amazing!

  • She really WAS so beautiful, and i love the Raconteurs song. Good fit!

  • She was so revolutionary. Its a tragedy that she had a troubled life.

  • Now that is what i call a pair of legs.

  • The actress from"Hustle&Flow"who portrayed DeeJay's white pro with all the braids,Taryn Manning, looks like Edie's twin.Though Sienna Miller was brilliant,Taryn has that fragile angel"with a broken wing" look that neither Sienna Miller nor Katie Holmes who was supposed 2 play her.

  • @apokryphos117g

omg katie holmes could never have pulled this off

  • Amazing! =)

  • Amazing song!! and amazing videooo!! I love Edie!!

  • Edie + Jack White= awesomeness

  • When she smiles she looks like Jennifer Garner..

  • @12chipi and sometimes like keira knightley!

  • @12chipi

mmmh, I think she looks like Keira Knightley in "Domino" !

  • @TheBlackAsphodel damn, i guess i'm gonna have to rent Domino!!!

  • @quincee33 u don't have to rent another movie to see someone who may look like Edie. i suggest u rent and watch, the REAL Edie in the movie Ciao Manhattan.

it's all about her and the weird an wild life she led. it's hard to watch, but it is the real Edie,,, sad but true.

  • @CHUCKLOVES1969 thx. but ya i heard Ciao Manhattan is really hard to watch...but maybe i will some rainy sunday afternoon!

  • Speed kills.

  • Sienna Miller did a great job!

  • Great video! She is just so beautiful. Great song too!!

  • she's gorgoeus!!! i dont understand why they didnt use jenifer garner in the factory girl movie, she really looks like her!!

  • @josinelati because jenifer garner sucks lol

  • GOD DAMN IT...TONIA.....write to me.

    imissyousoooofucking much.

  • aww i ll talk to u. im sorry the silence is so demanding

  • @FoxyRoxies ,,that nice of u,(im chuckloves underneath too)

tonia is german,,and we,,well we talked all da time. loved her sense of music and life...i;m old..she's young. she's a rebel, and she started to have a rough time at home and said she had to rest and regroup her head

,,but promised she would be back,,,(she was seemedisco)

i miss her too much...i do. we met here,,,,talking about edie. :(

  • I love your bettie page picture. And with a rebel yell she cries more more more. I'm scared that my stupid ass is going to get into a rediculous situation with an old friend that is now out to get me.

  • I´m reading Edie: An American Biography, just can´t put it down

  • Edie was simpy beautiful, out of this world. She had a small but very powerful body, very athletic and agile, and she had perfect body control. Unfortunately, she didn't have the same mental stability and self-control...

  • YEAH....well u get mixed up with the hottest scene in new york.. in the middle of the cultural revolution in the 60's...and lets see how well u handle all the drugs and lifestyle that is pouring out of every pour of the crowd..and see how much self control you'll have. it's easy to come down on her for her fucking up,,,she knew it.. we all know it,,but lets just let her be the voice for some sanity in our empty lifes as we feed off the past. dont worry edie..i love you all the way. no regrets.

  • I'm not coming down on her for doing what she did. I just think it's sad she never developed into her full potential, and that nobody seemed to care for her. I think she was very lost and lonely. Oh yeah, and I love her too! Edie had real talent. This only became evident in Ciao! Manhattan, but by that time it was too late. But there, and especially in the outtakes, it's clear she was a real artist and not just a gorgeous face.

  • i din't mean to get on ur case either,,, people always say the same thing..to bad this and to bad that... the real fact is,,there are no "second takes",,,in life. u are what u are,,,and u become what u become...end of story.

the good don't die young.... you just die. "the good" to me, really are the ones who make it to the end,,, but who really knows when... "the end"....really is. i don't.

  • Right, there's no "take 2 or 3" in life, but still, there is sadness or joy or contentment at what you do, and how you feel matters, at least it ought to. We are here, now, 2010, Friday, 9 pm or whatever, and we try to make it, or just survive, make plans or tag along... People who think they have it figured out... I don't know I sort of feel sorry for them in a way. But also, if you have no direction at all, then that's sad too. Most of us are probably somewhere in between.

  • Continued: Most people are probably somewhere in between: they know, but they also don't know where they are going. What matters to me is that I'm not totally miserable and that there are moments or happiness. The problem for Edie is that she knew her life would never really work ut, not even after she got married.

  • Edie was the most gorgeous person on this planet!!!

  • i dont understand how someone can be so gorgeous

  • Edie is amazing<333

  • i love this song, and i love edie !<3.

  • she was..G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!!

  • She still is. Always will be.

  • I thank whoever posted this nice collage with a perfect soundtrack for a shooting star.

  • GOD BLESS YOU FOR THIS

  • Edie Sedgwick, the it girl. She had an interesting, fascinating, unique quality. Not only was she beautiful, but she had such an alluring way of speaking and made a big impression on everyone that she met - an instant success. For years now, countless young people have discovered Edie Sedgwick and felt a strangely compelling, deeply emotional, connection to her. Edie's creation of her persona, of her image, was her art form. Gone, but never forgotten.

  • Comment removed

  • Jesus.. no, it's not fair!

    Edie was unique!

  • Hell no

  • No, Edie was an underground "personality" who never made it to the mainstream like Mischa Barton. Edie is probably more popular these days than she ever was during her short life.

  • Oh, I see. Thanks for the reply.

  • Idk, not really. I dont really know that much about Mischa Barton, but Edie was much more original and unique than Mischa seems. I might be wrong though.

  • Edie Lives on

  • Edie forever!

  • cool

  • So if you don't believe in admiring people who haven't cured cancer why the hell is Edie your "icon" then?

  • What a strange fit! But I like it!

  • Edie Sedgwick was absolutely gorgeous.

    I love her figure.

But i know she didnt eat much &struggled w/ bulimia &anorexia.

So thats not the right path even if you want the perfect body :/

  • Edie forever!

  • this is so awesome i love edie

  • i no like ...I NO LIKE SHE ANYMO.

  • Jennifer Garner smile.

  • what is did in her life? She died too early. I like this girl...but still dont understand the crew around

  • great song to describe her! LOL

  • Je tak zvlaštne pritžliva .

  • sweet. video posted on the day of my birthday.

  • fabulous..

  • damn I like this alot, Sedgwick hOt sTTuf ! very steady indeed.

  • Comment removed

  • Edie Sedgwick is amazing! She has the best eye make up ever!!!

  • bitchen vid. edie is my icon, screw that slut marilyn monroe.

  • haha I think Monroe is so overrated and boring! so many other woman from the 50s and 60s r far more interesting and beautiful, like Edie Sedgwick, Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn and Jean Harlow (even thow shes from the 30s)

  • Twiggy90 4u to say...that Marilyn Monroe is over-rated and boring..you totally loose any credibility and are way out on a limb

..that is cracking as i write this. to think MM is over-rated is like saying....the sun only shines just on your house and no one else's. its basically the stupiest thing i've read on youtube. and ive read some pretty

ridiculous, immature, blasphemous crap..but ur's win top prize.. and im positive Edie herself would slap ur face and tell u to shut the F...up.

  • ...that would be pleasent....

  • So Marilyn Monroe was a slut but Edie isn't? LOLL thats not ironic at all.

  • and to you mr 10minutemovie...thats about how many brain cells u have TEN,,, to say that about MM...what a lonely piece of shit u must be.

if u even had a mother...id ask her what trouble youre gonna get in with saying puke like that.

  • Anyone with meat on their bones who isn't a bulimic must be fat? LOL! Marilyn was only "fake" on-screen precisely because she ACTED, something Edie didn't do. I'm sure you're a much better judge of talent than acting veterans like the Strasbergs, Wilder, & Logan, who all attested to Marilyn's gift for acting, huh? Edie being a pathological liar didn't make her "fake" yet MM was because she actually did her job? Do you have some sort of masochistic desire to humiliate yourself with stupidity?

  • Body weight is not an opinion; Marilyn was not "fat" by any measure, and was actually underweight at the time of her death. Yes, her acting was merely a paycheck; one that she risked her career for just so she could have better roles. Monroe was not only beautiful after surgery, as plenty of pre-surgery photos prove. Nothing I need to "let go", I'm not the one who has an obsession with Marilyn-bashing on videos that have nothing to do with her. 'Masochistic' a big word? Speak for yourself.

  • Are you finished yet?

  • Next time, just don't reply. It'll look like you have some semblance of thought left.

  • Fat bitch fucked the kennedys now she's dead. At least bob dylan didn't kill edie. Stop trying to be such a psuedo intellectual.

  • The Kennedies didn't kill Marilyn either, not that you can prove.

You're only pissed because you like to pretend that your beloved Edie was somehow on a much higher level than Marilyn was and I keep proving she wasn't.

  • I dont give a shit who killed her, the point is she's dead. You only keep provoking this little debockle, not proving that marilyn is the better person. For all anyone knows she coulda been a cultist.

  • That's not a 'point, that's stating the obvious. Yes, Marilyn is dead, just like Edie. So what?

I never argued Marilyn was a better person than Edie. You however, seem to believe that Edie was on a much higher level than Marilyn, and I proved you wrong on all points.

The fact that you have to speculate absurdities shows how little basis you have for disliking Marilyn.

  • I never said you hate Marilyn, I said you clearly dislike her, which you do. Why else call her a slut and a bitch on a video that has nothing to do with her?

I never said Marilyn was the greatest human being and neither do most fans. There are some with every fan base who worship her like a goddess yes, but then I've come across Edie fans like that. To criticise someone over the members of their fan base is petty.

  • Whatever! Can we all stop talking about Marilyn and focus on Edie?

  • Well, who's stopping you?

  • You commented just as often as me and commented just to have the last word, so you should really ask yourself that question.

  • looks almost like it would be the vid for the song..good job

  • Edie created her own style. Copy cats never get it right.

  • Edie with this song, go perfectly.

  • edie is my style icon; love her energy and flair

  • Who's style icon isn't she? Heeehee. I love Edie. To a party last night, I wore black tights, a leotard and an oversized sweater, with some Edie-esque boots and dangly earrings. My BF got shook his head with a "WTF" look on his face. Heeeeeheee.

  • I'm OBSESS with Edie, she's so cool and very beautiful<3333

  • this is really rad.

the music goes well with Edie.

    i absolutley adore this video.

    =]

  • Wow.

  • edie is the best ,my mom is a realyy huge fan and when i saw the movie ciao mahattan i just love her

  • i used to be fascinated by marilyn monroe...now am more into edie...i adore her...

  • great video!

  • while there are many impressive youtube videos that combine images of sedgwick with songs not of her era, this one remains my favorite. slammin' song from the slammin' debut album.....great job!

  • Great video - I loved the song and the editing.

  • and britney and lindsey think they're so hot, and contemporary...... Edie had " IT" which they could only hope to have. and Edie...... always will. r.i.p.

  • yeah fuck all hollywood... celebrate the real ones , even theyre dead....

  • she is my iconnn.

  • Comment removed

  • she's my second favorite icon

i love her, actually, there's no words to describe my love to her!

  • i simply adore her

  • Edie had such an amazing magic, she is still an icon to me...Sienna Miller played her really well, the similarity is astounding!

  • hmmmmm i agree that edie was absolutely amazing and beautifull and facinating - but sienna miller is no where near as amazing. there could never be anyone like edie she was one in six billion. but siena miller was very close =] xx

  • I can't get over how amazingly fascinating Edie Sedgwick is. Her strong and happy confidante personality made her my hero. (:

  • this is an awsome songgg annd cool shots of edie goshh i adore her sooos much and an icon relii gorgues lady ^^

    xx

  • love your video very well done!

  • is she were here now, we'd be wed. No shit.

  • Probably due to Keira's movie, "Domino." I sort of see where you're coming.

  • whatever the name of this song is....it rocks your socks offffff...and edie would have dug every blasting note......

  • Can anybody tell me name of tne song, please?

  • Steady As She Goes by The Raconteurs - Jack Whites band!

  • Edie IS so amazing!!!!

She is a true trend setter and (NY)icon, my moom used to dress and use make up like her, and we live in Costa Rica, just picture how strong her style is(and I say is, 'cause it still inspires people!)

  • amazing. good job

  • She reminds me a bit of Marilyn Monroe sometimes.

  • I just bought this song! LOVE THIS!

  • At first I thought the song would be too happy/peppy for the edie images. but you did an awesome...a fckn awesome job in editing these video clips to fit the song!

  • She's gorgeous!

  • i always thought that she had a marilyn monroe look to her, without the eyebrows. she was too skinny for her frame, obviously a sign that she was anorexic.

  • Yeah i think her and Marilyn both had something vulnerable about them, and a kind of sadness. Both beauties!

  • Brilliant. What a beautiful sad creature...

When she's walking on that wall and being filmed from down below, you can't help but think it's a metaphor for her life... on the precipice... on the edge of tumbling down at any moment.

  • the band really rocked this song when i saw them perform at nyc's terminal 5 this past may. and you're really using your noodle by combining these images and this song. excellent job, and rock on.

  • lol, do not worry for I am not a guy!

Thank you so much for the comment and thank you to everybody! I am so glad you like my video homage to Edie, especially 2 years after I made it!

I think a new one is in order soon :D

    xx

  • You did a great job, Artificial Sweetner!

That's a good composition of images and sounds! The term 'Factory Girl' and factory girls in reality sexually arouse me sometimes although its nature of being artificial doesn't help me get a full satisfacton. what the hell am I talking about, hehe? What if you're a boy? I'm starting to worry...

  • Oh, my God! She's girl! I'm embarrassed in trouble. I still see fashinable, fabulous dancing 'Edies' when I walk downtown. Why could I have been one of those dancing 'factory girls' anyone other than me. He stands, tucks his hair, shoes untied.... Could I have been anyone other than me? Bytwatching this Video, I can't help being reminded of the song 'Dancing Nancies' by Dave Matthews Band.

  • Brilliant! I've always loved her!

  • Xartificialsweetner,every comment I've read is thumbs up..u should b proud.

  • eeeeexcellent video, you've done a fantastic job

  • I am in love with song... Edie was a perfect litle creature for this amazing, well done vid. LOve it.

  • fabulous work there. i love it! where did you find all that footage of her? thank you.. this is really really neat.

  • What software did you use to edit this?

  • Perfect song for the vid!

  • This song is great! Fits the video oh so well!

  • Let's blame someone. Warhol was an asshole! Yes she is gorgeous, but that's everywhere. She's famous because Warhol made her a tragic figure!

  • this should be the official video for the song.

  • awesome, beatiful edie

  • Beautiful!

  • Beautiful beyond belief!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • *Racconteurs

  • *Raconteurs.

Sorry I couldn't resist. Love this video.

  • Steady As She Goes is by Jack White and his other band the Rancantouers

  • god that scene must have been awesome... wassup up with this 60's had the hippie and warhol (avant garde) scene... 70's had the disco scene... 80's had the acid house rave scenes... 90's and 2000's have nothing... damn the goverment... i love this song and whoever made this video its awesome... great song to have footage of the beautiful EDIE.

  • "damn the government" haha how is it the government's fault that we lack a definitive scene? by the way, you might say nothingness is our scene. there is a war and a slogging economy but i think we live in a society that's far too advanced to ever fear it might someday crumble...there's no rush to make self-definitions, then...hence such trendy afflictions as the quarterlife crisis.

  • She was absolutely gorgeous, but it wasn't enough for her, we lost her. Warhol loved beauty and luckily captured Edie's beauty for us to see.

Blame nobody for her passing, a complex girl made very simple by brain damage from drugs.

But wasn't she beautiful!!!!????? Wasn't she!

  • It appears from 0:22 Alex kapranos from Franz Ferdinand is in possession of a time machine, and rather than use it to observe pivotal events in history, he just stands places looking gormless...

  • yes

  • Awesome vid!! <3

  • Oh, she was so beautiful. Sienna who played her in the movie "Factory Girl" isn't even half as gorgeous as she was. I'd chosen Poppy Montgomery. They're sooo alike. And Poppy played Marilyn Monroe in "Blonde" which I thought was a weird choice. No one could ever play Marilyn.

  • jun7per, are you always so bitter, or are you simply a snob? honestly, what is your problem? the movie was entertaining and the use if vintage cameras was well placed and broke up the more monotonous sequences. And how, by any stretch of the imagination, is Sienna Miller, plain jane. While Edie was a tad more pixie-esque, the resemblance is quite striking, while there is no substitute

  • Fascinating.

  • I liked Factory Girl even though alot of Edie fans didn't. I'd never seen Sienna in anything before and I was surprised at the quality of her performance. She's really a splendid actress.

  • i agree that siennas performance was brilliant, and so was guy pierce's, but the film was so commercialised and had a lot of flaws. for example, edie met dylan before she met warhol. but it's okay for entertaintment

  • this is a great video. and i love edie.

  • jun7per im guessing your american?

  • For the record, not all of us Americans spell "iconic" with a k! ;) And I loved Factory Girl, personally, although I'm usually not a huge fan of Sienna Miller's.

  • Shes such an American ikonic beauty. When I heard that useless plain jane English acress was going to play Edie I knew it would flop.

  • :D amazing Video

  • is it me or does rachel bilson look exactly like edie in some of these pics? minus the short hair of course.

  • nice, but the song should be EDIE [ciao baby] by the Cult, which was written for her.Great song, too!Try to listen to it if you can
