I'm also of Korean origin but I agree that the Korean society caring too much about height is a problem. Well, I am about 164-5cm and I would be satisfied if a man is 170ctm. Moreover, I don't understand why Koreans discriminate smaller men or women who are less pretty.

Average height being low in N.Korea, Vietnam, China, is due to a lack of nutritious food. Japan is rich country and Korea almost rich, so are taller. You would see same thing if you compared rich Scandinavian countries to poor East European,,, or developing African compared to 3rd world African.

You're not naturally taller Koreans, you just can afford to grow.

I still don't understand at all why Korean women care so much about height. Of course, I'd like a man taller than me however short men are no losers at all, they didn't choose their heights. I am about 1.65 and 1.70m would be quite enough for me.

@HumanStrategy Yeah, it's more about judging people by the way they look kind of deal. it is something you cannot change (you can't change your face or height, etc). you can get a surgery, but it's not the same as being born with it. I mean, rejecting unhandsome person is quite understandable, but that does not mean short people are LOSERS. For me, it just pisses me off how many stupid people there are. she was on national tv for christ sakes. how stupid does one have to be to pull that off?

@HumanStrategy Also, because you are 187cm, you will never know or understand what short people have to go through (objectively, it is not much, certainly not worse than living in third world countries, but they still get less than fair treatment). You can get good grades by studying hard, but you have to spend fortune to change your looks. Also, wisdom is not visible right away, while physical attractiveness. Good looks are kind of like intial boost that less attractive people do not get.
