@300spartanswin Yes, cardboard is good. Three layers, at least. Plywood is great, only 1 piece is all you need. But be careful swinging it. Don't hurt anybody!

Hey will, I am at the stage of putting the sword all together. It is not as strong as I would like and the handle is a bit flimsy. @300spartanswin Thats a point of heavy use and strain. Add something strong at that point like a couple of pieces of wood or plastic then re wrap the handle.

make one 3 times thicker that your end result, clue it nice and firm, then put it in a bench vice in between 2 pieces and tighten that fucker up like no tomorrow, leave it 7 hours try to tighten and leave it 3 hours. end result carbon cardboard heavy duty spartan sword.

i have a real one. the dimensions your using are WAY off. your is too thick, short and clunky looking. the real thing has a longer thin piece between the hilt and the larger tip of the sword and the hand guards are much thinner. i really dont see why someone would try to make a cardboard sword??? but hey. good job man keep doing what your doing if it makes you happy and all. really.

here's another sugestion to make it a bit stronger. have the middle layer cut out turned 180 degrees so that the zig zags in the cardboard goes the oposite direction for that middle layer. This wtill really improve your strength to have the opposing dirsctions of the folds
