Where did you draw the lineart to get such smooth lines?

I use photoshop cs3 and my lines are rather pixelated... not nearly as smooth as that.

@MoMoMel908 Adobe Flash CS3, i had a tutorial on that too but it got removed. But i think you can get smooth lines in photoshop too if you work at high resolution (like 3566x2000) and then export video at 1280x 720

What are the measurements of the frames you scan the drawings at? For example, when you first open a new document in photoshop, what are the dimensions?

dude do you draw the drawings on a computer or first signs of a sheet and tighten it on the computer ? Please ,let me know ;) because the japanese, do it on this way they draw it on sheets and scan it on the computer. Please let me know.

@MrTaner24 yes, when i draw original stuff most of the times i first draw it on paper ,scan it ,and redraw it on the pc :)

here i took the page that was drawn by damleg and redrew it .

@Darkriley5 Well they have a huge amount of animators all with their own specific jobs, like the story boards, the sketches, the inking, the coloring the cleanup and the backrounds, as well as an editor. Usually each character has a team of 2-4 people working on them AND they`re probably using a more efficient method of doing things, like with flash or ToonBoom etc etc.

antonieandy sorry to bother you again but i was just wanted to ask you you know Smyton animations do you know what programs he used and how he made so relistic i tried to ask him but he has not replied back

@801QSC he used to draw in flash and color in photoshop like i do now

but now he does everything in photoshop -drawings /colors

talent ,practice and patience :D you need too use as many frames as possible for movements ,and redraw everything in each frame (if it's supposed to move) , he does that

me ,on the other hand am lazy,use few frames and sometimes i just change the lines a bit to make it move a little, that's why my animations look cheap-but when i get a tablet i'll try to change that :)

so say like your making a fan flash and you got about seven frames of the same guy with his hair moving you have to colour each fram separately ???

@801QSC yes :)

or if just the hair of the character moves,and the rest doesn't move at all ,you can make just one frame for the body (without hair),and make more with just the hair for the movements,that way you have to color the body just 1 time and then you just need to color the hair for the rest of the frames...same goes for mouth/eyes etc.

@121itzel it takes very long if you have only 1-2 people working on it

you can see in this tutorials how much time it took to make that short scene,and it was on fast forward too

I like the fact you are very skilled with each of these programs and have shared those skills you have aquired with the public :) it gives us who want to learn something hope in achieving something. I really do hope KHS Ep 2 will be out soon and i know it shall be great seeing as someone professional is behind it's animating purposes :)

Wow. I am looking @ how other people animate using Flash and Photoshop because I am going to be doing my own animation soon, and I wanted to see the process.
