Mark Schultz writes songs like no other Christian Artist. Yeah, these words do describe so many families and their daily life. I'm not even sure my own mother, brothers, etc. know WHO I am. Mark Schultz writes songs like no other Christian Artist. Yeah, these words do describe so many families and their daily life. I'm not even sure my own mother, brothers, etc. know WHO I am. I don't think they ever have. What's important is my Lord and Saviour KNOWS me. I cling to that. This video was nicely done. Thanks for sharing it. God bless.

this is an awesome way to get the point across to parents that think the almighty dollar is more important. not julting those of us that have to work to make ends meet, but please me the time with your kids at home count. make an added effort to be involved with your kids, they dont stay home forever.

My childrens father was very verbally abusive towards our children,the only love they recieved was through me. So this song really strikes home! this affected our children profoundy. And they have not spoken to their father in years .He told me it was my fault,because I didn't love him enough! B.S.

I hope he's not had to watch someone he knows go through these things to write about them. It is possible (for some people) to extrapolate emotions for events, but it's a whole lot more difficult than getting the emotions by exposure.

As heart-wrenching as many of his songs are, I certainly hope he has a good imagination to guide him, rather than having to experience these things himself or having someone in his church experience them. I've heard he's a youth pastor.

Mark was a youth Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville for 8 years. Some of his songs, such as "He's My Son" come from walking through the valley with his teens. He wrote this song before he was married.
