  • What a bueatiful voice, thank you for shareing....

  • This is a great song sometimes i can relate to it..

  • This song remindes us of what's really important in life.Thanx for posting it

  • this song reminds me of my family...i cried through half of it...,

  • this is my life.

  • Luv it!!

  • this song is so sad. so true as well:(

  • I'm crying. I've past 14 years with my dad being here but never being here. And i've barely ever done anything with him. But it's because i've never wanted to. And starting today im going to try and spend a lot more time with him.

  • thats absolutely gorgeous

  • This is just like my dad. I would wait for him at my soccer games, but he never showed, I would ask him to play catch, he'd say hold on so I'd get the baseball and wait outside, but he'd always forget and leave me standing there. I'm sorry to say, it's not possible to make it right again. Nothing can heal those wounds and make it alright.

  • just know my friend that you have a father up in heaven who is with you always, he saw every soccer game you played, and caught every tear you cried. Its hard to forgive someone who hurt you deeply, ive had to deal with forgivness for my mom, she's a drunk and has hurt my heart terribly...but its by Gods grace that i am able to forgive her, its HIS word, that requires me to forgive. I hope one day you can do the same my friend. God bless you! Have a merry Christmas!

  • Thankyou. I hope you'red right. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  • I love Mark Schultz, I met him once and he is so humble,

I wish my x husband would have heard this song

before we were too late. This song is totally my old life.

  • this is just... sad... great song...

  • that such a great song and a great video.

    that really inspiring to me.

  • Very touching music, so down to earth, I loved it. Keep singing the music your singing.

  • i hope one day my childrens father listens to this song maybe then he'll think about what he is missing.

  • omg this is so true..my kids dad refuses to see my kids..hes missing out big time his loss....asshole

  • I'm living something kinda like this, yet really different.... thank you guys for posting this.

  • pheew...i wonder....T_T

  • Now 57yoage both mum and dad gone. Not so long ago. I can't tell you how valuable their time is to you if you still have them. Do something for them now. what a lovely song

  • touching

  • Beautiful.

  • a great song to do one of these tributes too is "You're still Here" by Faith Hill.

  • My mom moved out when i was 4 and after my grandpa died (dads side) My dad just ignors me kinde of, and if i do something wrong He always yells at me, why can't he be like other people and just talk it out! He never comes to anything, and he never picks me up when i'm finished with something, he makes an excuse....and why does Mark Schultz have to make songs that make me CRY!!! xD

  • Im sorry to read such words from someone probly so young but these songs are for us to grow from tell him its ok to be hurt but not to hurt you in the greiving because you need him keep listening

  • yeah i know =3 i'm just going thew some "hard times"

  • i will pray for you! x

  • I lost my mom in june of 07, she was only 57. I have never really been close to my dad. He was like this as well. He was never there,at games when I went to the hospital nothing. I was VERY close with her, she was the first person I called whenever something. She was always either very happy for me or sad for me. I try to tell him this stuff and he just mumbles and says how hard his life is and ignores me. I understand at 33 I shouldn't NEED him but I do and once again he is never there

  • Im thankful for my dad. We go for walks all the time. We play games together. I love you Lord, my heavenly father!

  • every time i hear this song, i cry but it's a good song

  • Amazing song.

  • thats such a pretty song.

  • My dad died while I was still a baby. I have no memory at all of him.

  • WOW i never realized how lucky i am. My dad treats me really good i'm glad that i have this chance!

  • yer unfortunatly you're in the minority.

My dad isn't to bad either, but he can be a bit distant at times, and was reminded of this a few times when collacting this clip.

  • My dad left us when i was lil. all i remember was him hurting us.. physically and emotionally.. but now i have family of my own i still try for him to be apart of it.. so i think forgivness is the key, to all the dad that made this kinda mistake. it hurts but life goes on and you're never be the person that you are right now without your past. good or bad..

  • My dad went through a time like this. He went to work early and came home late. He would eat dinner, go to bed and start all over the next day. Now he's back, and I never want to go through the pain of not having my dad again.

  • i agree with Brucev7 too. :'(

  • my dad lives down my street and he hasnt bothered to talk to me in 5 1/2 months.

  • man sometimes i wish my dad was alive cause i miss him sooo much. i never even got to see him when he was alive );

  • I miss you daddy. I wish you would come see me. I wish I was enough for you.

  • I saw this and it made me cry. It reminded me of how my Dad didn't have time for my brother and how hurt he is to this day because of it. I pray all parents will love their children enought to make time for them.

  • awesome !!!

  • This is so true! My dad is just like this. I miss the way he used to be!

  • My dad is in CT, away from me :( I agree with brucev7

  • Beautiful. Dad's need to show-up. Mine didn't. I did. But they hurt my children. May they be forgiven in Jesus name. amen.

  • This song is sad, and it's sad that so many people have been in this situation. Just remember, everyone, that God is in control. I'm not saying that makes everything happy go lucky, because it doesn't, but if you look to God He will be a comfort. I know. Because He's been there for me.

God is a God of Wonders

  • ii know what its like to not have somebody around and its hard but i mean time goes on and you relize who you really have my sperm-donar left my family when i was 11 and done it so harsh and yeah it gets hard sometimes but at least you guys can make calls i gave up and i dont ever wanna see his face or voice again he hurt us soo bad its soo hard to understand.

  • I missed my two years old twins, they missed me too. I do not regret to leave them and my exwife because I need to have a fresh start. I pay child support and call them twice a week. I missed the time that I did not hug them enough. I missed them to cry.

  • Why do you need a "Fresh Start"... is it really worth it?

  • yes and no... if he really try to fix his mistake than is worth it otherwise is not

  • sad!!!

  • This song remind me of my oldest son and my husband. it makes me think that fathers really need to be there for there child. don;t turn your back because you will regret it for the rest of your life.

  • ... O Lord, I can never make up for how I failed in the lives of my children, this burden is too heavy, please help me...please!

  • oh yes u can...dont think like that..u 2 alex

  • this song is very touching... i really like it ...but its sad :'(

  • this song is so touching it would make chuck norris cry, i loved it(;

  • Oh LOrd Forgive me. it made me cry. I missed my father then. i never had an intimate relationship with my father since my childhood and upto now. we have separate ways. now im that im 27 i suddenly realized that he's so important to me. im working and we're far distant and when i remember what he had done with my family, it made me cry. Lord, please takecare of my "tatay" (father).

  • This is my song to my dad...hes never around. well, he is...but we never conected. Ive always felt like he loved his daughters more than he loved me. He only lives in the house and supports the family.

  • thats sad man i fel bad

  • omg!i cant stop cryin

  • do you know where i coulkd downland this song please???it isn't on clipser

  • i cried! that was extra sad!!!

  • Omg This Made Me Cry! Lol. But Its A Amazing song. ♥ and this is like the first time i've heard this songg.

  • wow that made me cry

  • I came across this video a while ago. And every time I watch it, it brings me to tears.

This is my father. He is and has never been there. =(

  • Aww.

I'm really sorry to hear that.

  • man i feel bad 4 u just try 2 keep going

  • I Have Been separated from my husband for over 7 years now. I am still trusting and hoping that he will give his heart to his children(we have 5)...Never give up hope..We are poor in finances, but really big in love...If my H doesn't choose us, we still have the Lord and that is quite ok....better than ok...

  • wow thats my husbanb.. hes only 20 im 19 he works.. in the air force.. late everynight :(

  • This song makes me cry because that's my dad, especially now that momma's in the hospital. She might not make it, and he's not here.

  • I pray that your mom will be O.K. Have faith in God and let his will be done.

  • me 2

  • I pray that your dad realizes what he is missing and that your mom gets better. remember God loves you!!

  • ='(

  • this song is so sad I cried just like I do with all his songs. Thanks Mark

  • It's sad to think that actually happens to kids and families.

  • wat you mean when the dad works too much?

  • I love this song thanks Mark

  • I cried so hard

  • i def. just cried...

  • This reminds me of my dad somehow. He never home or hes either doing something else. i dont even talk to him anymore. this song has a powerful message and i want my dad to know that i love him and i want to hear him say he loves me too. =[ He also has a disease and if he ever somehow died from it i dont know how i could live but i love my dad and i know that god can get me through all these hard times in your life Sometimes God makes bad things happen to good people so he can make them stronger.

  • Absolutely powerful song, thank God for inspiring men with such great message to parents. Really needs to be shared!

  • Wow, what a powerful song. Fortunately, I know the truth of these words from the birth of my child. I never allow my job to take priority over my family. When I die, I don't want my gravestone to read "He was a great worker" but instead "He was a great son, a great husband and a great father to our children." If I can achieve that status, then I will know I've left a legacy for my children to follow.

  • You couldn't have put it more clearer. Thats what I want on my gravestone too.

  • they need to show this to every parent the day their child is born...i am a grown woman, but thinking of my father never being there when i was growing up brought to me unexpected tears. God forgive them because they know not what they do. I pray for all the abscentee parents right now and anyone who sees this could take the time to do the same. May God bless all who take the time to pray for this lost world and a lost generation.

  • when i saw the lyrics

i got a deep deep thinking

i think it is a good song to share with

no only the christian but everybody

    kaku in HK

    tks 4 sharing

  • Mark Schultz writes such amazing, meaningful songs, but there are so sad!

  • A touching, warm-feeling song. This describes it all. :)

  • yeah, its sad. i cant have empathy for the characters in it, i never had someone like that to miss. i have become an alien in this world.

  • I got your back... cuz I know you have mine but we both know who to depend on the most, and it's God.

  • so sad

  • i feel bad for that hobo at like 2:55

  • its so touching it brought tears to my eyes

  • so sad nice song

  • this song is so sad, i feel touched...

  • wow, this makes me melt.....

  • My dad almost ended up like this but luckly he realized it and retired to spend with me and my siblings. Now my dad and I have a strong relationship and I don't want any other person to be my dad.

  • I know my dad loves me a lot, and I got more time than my olders sis and bro got with him, but we have hardly what you could call a realtionship and I am living in the same house as him. Sometimes I just sit and cry that I could go to my dad about anything.

  • ouch. That is a look in on my life with my dad and with my own children. Thanks for helping me open up my eyes.

  • this makes me think of my dad he used to be harsh drugy and now is way better

  • This is the most touching song ever!!!!! It's made me all soft on the inside :(

  • I think it's amazing how God has given us the responsibility to teach our children to love God and live right. That's what the main focus of life is, not bills. God is not broke and money isn't everything. God is able to provide, however he says seek ye first the kingdom then these things will be added. Also that our we be prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper.

  • don't know what happened with this line but it's suposed to read: Also that we would prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper

  • It is a touching video, but uplifting at the end. We hurt God, when we make Him last. Thank God He forgives us and takes us back.

  • this video is heartbreaking for me bc my father left me for drugs and alcohol i never see him and he dosent live with me anymore so this video made me cry

  • same here

  • i'm sorry

  • I'm blessed to have two fathers in my life. Even though both were gone at times, I know that they both love me and I will love them both always.

I have a dream to have a family and to provide for them as God allows me to one day; I don't wanna be the guy in the video who "goes to work" and "pays the bills" and that's all, or know that they learned to live without me. I want to be an integral part of their lives, always present and always active!

Thanks SO much for posting this song! God bless!

  • oh my goodness

    it's so sad

    *****

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful song

  • Mark Schultz writes songs like no other Christian Artist. Yeah, these words do describe so many families and their daily life. I'm not even sure my own mother, brothers, etc. know WHO I am. I don't think they ever have. What's important is my Lord and Saviour KNOWS me. I cling to that. This video was nicely done. Thanks for sharing it. God bless.

  • who sings this

  • Mark Schultz

  • This song says it all...

  • beautiful....and so very true of many families.

  • i will always love this song!!!

  • Wow, that was a sad song. I was moved to tears.....

  • this is such a sad song tear tear ~kristi

  • this is an awesome way to get the point across to parents that think the almighty dollar is more important. not julting those of us that have to work to make ends meet, but please me the time with your kids at home count. make an added effort to be involved with your kids, they dont stay home forever.

  • my parents think that if they just buy me things, that will mean they love me. How untrue

  • makes you want to cry and think at the same time. Speaking of time it is gone before you know it so make the best of it now never think that there is always tomorrow because our Lord may come tonight.

  • My childrens father was very verbally abusive towards our children, the only love they recieved was through me. So this song really strikes home! this affected our children profoundy. And they have not spoken to their father in years .He told me it was my fault, because I didn't love him enough! B.S.

It's nice to know he's changed for the better???

he didn't know ME at all.

So please remember, what you say,do, and how you act has a lasting impact.

  • I've never heard this song before. Thanks for posting. It made me cry and realize I neglect my kids and wife more than I should.

  • A poignant lesson for dads AND moms. Beautifully done.

  • yeah, Carradee - what exactly do you mean? (about the imagination and stuff) that doesn't make sense to me.

  • I hope he's not had to watch someone he knows go through these things to write about them. It is possible (for some people) to extrapolate emotions for events, but it's a whole lot more difficult than getting the emotions by exposure.

    -Misti/'Dee

  • As heart-wrenching as many of his songs are, I certainly hope he has a good imagination to guide him, rather than having to experience these things himself or having someone in his church experience them. I've heard he's a youth pastor.

    -Misti

  • Mark was a youth Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville for 8 years. Some of his songs, such as "He's My Son" come from walking through the valley with his teens. He wrote this song before he was married.
