Why this documentary makes no mention of Polish heroes of the Battle of Britain. It's heroic exploits were about whose history must be remembered. This mentality of Poland which the British must keep in mind. Today, the British did not respect the Poles. And this is after all the heroic and historic nation. It doesn't matter for the 1940 war anyways because back then the German military and allied forces were even smaller than that of France and their allies present on the Western Front. The population aspect would have only become essential had the French forced the Germans into a long and costly campaign which they couldn't for reasons that have less to do with numbers than with wrong decisions.

the canadians did help the British in the battle of britain.. infact it was canadian pilots who helped way before the americanswere involved. around 80 of them, were pilots in the Royal Airforce compared to 1 american pilot. The americans were supplying shipments of much needed supplies to Britian to keep them holding out.

Fly boys are historically romanticized. It took a lot more "stuff" to be a fighter pilot and just symbolically they're very heroic.

@Kamikazeesouled Canada helped of her own free will. We also declared war on Japan before America did to help our buddies down South. America did help Britain but not in much of a substantial way until 1941 two years into the war.

@jacob1363 Canada officially became an wholly independent country in 1934 but actually was an independent country before that as a Dominion. Why not read up what being a Dominion of the British Empire meant? We were at Britain's side very willingly in both world wars to help them the way sons and brothers should.

@jacob1363 Where do you get that we are slaves to the Queen? Nothing of the sort. Nor do we serve the British. Canada, Britain, Australia and many others are all equal members in the Commonwealth. Britain is not any more the leader of the Commonwealth or have any more say or power than what Canada does and the Queen is just as much our Queen as she is Britain's. Don't like it? Too bad. It's no skin off our teeth to be part of the Commonwealth.
