My teacher said that skin stops any foreign things from entering the body so vitamins can't get inside skin frm outside and all skin products are BS. Is it true?
@sipp91 I wonder. your lip balm, try surviving without it in windchill winter. how do we get rashes and poison ivy? how do people have skin allergies when their skin comes into contact with substances their body is hyper-active toward? skin is a semi-permeable membrane, even tooth enamel is. Your teach sounds like a dud there, needs to research before he tells his students more ill-informed doo-doo.
@111Delfina В целом, он говорит, что маски для лица - это полезная и приятная вещь, все зависит от конкретной маски. Главное - они не должны вызывать болезненных или неприятных ощущений
As an esthetician, I am constantly encountering clients who are jaded by their dermatologists and wanting a "holistic alternative." It is very sad because these same people are the ones who need to be referred to a medical professional. I also find that many people in my industry have an "us vs. them" bias against doctors and discourage people from using prescriptions for conditions like acne or rosacea. Please avoid anyone who tries to diagnose you or "plays doctor" with your face.
@PowderedPeach I'm also an esthetician and I couldn't agree more. What you can achieve with a "holistic" approach is very limited. The options offered by a doctor come with years of proven results. I think a combination of sensationalistic media (when the extremely rare negative happens) and the cost of professional medical care put too many people off. Excellent comment.
@PowderedPeach i agree, actually our we cant diagnose since its not under our license, we are just trained to spot certain skin conditions that may need medical attention
As a training beauty therapist here in UK, it also relies on people to be honest about what conditions they have if not apparent - contra-indications.. Beauty therapists are trained, and have to gain qualifications, so ensure the salon or beauticians are qualified.. that the salon is clean and instruments are sterilized properly..
@Sapphires1985 I'm def not an expert on skin or anything but from my own personal experience, the Mario Baduscu Whitening Mask works wonders!! It takes about a month of using it 2 to 3 times a week to get amazing results but you will see some results after the first use! Good luck!
@Sapphires1985 creams with oyster shell powder work well and aren't expensive. I discovered them in my local drugstore in section with hispanic beauty products
