I personally believe that the main reason comes from outside earths atmosphere. If you research all the planets are going through the same rise Mars included! And its possible a massive heat wave in the universe is on its way to our Galaxy or the universe temperature is rising itself or something more greater is on its way! More info can be found on the net. Temperature rise for other planets and melting caps on some of them like mars are coinciding with ours and is happening now too.
