  • One of the smartest guys i've seen on US tv fair play. Hi from Wales proud exporter of US presidents :)

  • Overall, I agree with Maher's assessment but, honestly, I don't think not knowing a couple of these things makes you stupid. I can never remember my Congressman's name even though I'll admit I probably should. And I probably wouldn't remember the content of Roe v. Wade off the top of my head unless I actually involved myself in the whole abortion controversy.

  • @evilemperordude the problem isnt necessarily that people don't know these things, but rather that they debate about them without knowing anything.

  • BILL GOING HARD ON THE USA LMAO

  • but I bet that Americans know locations of every Mcdonald or shoping mall in their area, which celebrity had a personal problem so it is alot to follow no time for learnig about the world.

  • This guy has no logic. Lol. He seems Stupid. Why are Atheists Such sad Angry people ?

  • @rjdrjd22000 ...because, too often they're surrounded by imbeciles? Just a hunch.

  • I like how the audience doesn't laugh at some things because they dont know themselves, lol

  • I'M REALLY MAD BECAUSE I CAN'T TURN OFF MY CAPS LOCK.

  • @LancePoint9 if that is actually true, and you are on windows 7 or vista, go to all programs>accessories>ease of access>onscreen keyboard. in the start menu of course, you can change your caps lock there without needing a caps lock that works on your keyboard.

  • @kght222 Thanks, but i just like the point made in the video that comments appear more angry with full caps.

  • How do you win an American election?

Promote War, hatred of the World (Specifically in the middle east), break up diplomatic ties to make yourself look "tough", borrow money like crazy to spend the money when your in office to make your administration look good but then screw over the next administrations due to debt and just... act like a sheep...

Thats why America needs to vote Ron Paul and elect someone intelligent for once.

    RON PAUL FOR 2012!

  • that last line about the old and new testaments was pretty damn funny

  • America isn't dumb. Too many americans just don't care enough which is sad. Comment below me go ahead and continue to look stupid yourself.

  • @91gt306 The fact that Fox News still has any viewers left after being caught misleading, misconstruing, and flat out lying time and time again is some good evidence for the lack of intelligence of this country. I'm an American, and I'm sorry to say it, but this country is dumb.

  • America is dumb as fuck... America is stupid compared to EVERY OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRY ON EARTH!

  • @LeafsBroncos1990 says the person watching YouTube videos on the Internet using his iPhone.

  • @richard20bris no retard i dont have an iphone.. assuming is something else you dumb ass americans are good at..

  • @LeafsBroncos1990 I'm not America. I do know, however, just how poorly people in many other countries would do on similar localised tests. Mr Maher, for some reason, never seems to have the time to find such results. Maybe they wouldn't justify his narrative.

  • BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Mind you, us GB lot really can't talk. The UK looks like it's headed this way too, what with Cameron trying out all these 'American' policies over here. Typical Conservatives shit, lining the pockets of the rich.

  • @sithinthemaking I think you'll find, if you do a little research, that the President of the United States is NOT a conservative.

Never let the facts get in the way of a leftist rant, though, eh?

  • @richard20bris I was referring to the conservative government in the UK. I could, however, have phrased it better. Apologies.

  • Bill you are so hilarious that I can never stop laughing every time I see you. You remind me a little of the late George Carlin and knew how to tell a joke and at the same time mean what you say as truth. Yes Americans are very ignorant and uneducated. It is a real shame to see how the US became that way when they were at the top and now towards the bottom. That is what happens when arrogance takes over - they go from the top down. All the best to you Bill keep it up.

  • This chap is a legend. But I have to say, the Americans I have met are pretty bright - so there must be some real idiots out there in order to bring the average down. BUT, those Americans are usually ones that have travelled a little.

  • 3:20 "Which is an absurd sentence, Coz it contains the words Bush and knowledge " LMAO ! ..

  • @MurderInkRecords I'm Thai, but I am smart enough to know that "Bush knowledge" is an oxymoron :D

  • i hate maher

  • Only in America could Herman Cain be considered qualified to become the President.

  • The funniest thing about this clip is how the audience is laughing at Maher's not-funny jokes, that are aimed towards THEM. Ummm. . . he's talking about Americans. . . and the audience is majority Americans. Are they not making the connection? Maybe he's right!

  • only in America politicians debate weather evolution is real or not

  • @elm12976 this country is finished and were all going to be done for in a few years if we keep this shit up..... this generation is dumb and sadly im part of it.

  • yea u are sadly right

  • @elm12976 u realize that all of the games that are being made are just a distraction to keep the human mind from thinking if you look at Xbox, PS3, and PC,s its all a distraction and this is coming from a gamer and a person who is constintly on the internet..... but i take advantage of these things and still know what they are doing and i am really against it.

  • @elm12976 - Last I heard, evolution was still a theory and therefore should be discussed.

  • @Encom7 should it be discussed by politicians?? and it is also a theory which is widely accepted as fact by pretty much anybody with any intelligence

  • @AmjSing - I would prefer politicians stick to discussions on policies/issues that matter. However I was responding to someone who seemed to claim that evolution is an accepted scientific fact when in truth it's a "theory."

  • @Encom7 its not just a "theory" its widely accepted as fact and since it was first proposed there has been plenty of evidence supporting it.

  • @AmjSing - I've never heard that the scientific community claims that they all agree that evolution is an irrefutable fact. Therefore it remains a theory.

  • @Encom7 pretty much every scientist goes along with evolution, plus its supported by evidence...if the reason its a theory is because some people disagree with it then i guess gravity is also just a theory because some scientists dont agree with that.

  • @AmjSing - I've never heard of "The theory of gravity."

  • @Encom7 "because it has theory in its name it means its not been proven", thats not how science works. The phrase "the theory of evolution" is only said by right wing nutbags, your logic is people say "theory of evolution" therefore not yet fact but people say "gravity" therefore fact??? do a bit of reading and you'll realise for every scientific fact there are people who disagree with it. Evolution, gravity, expanding universe etc all of them have detractors.

  • @AmjSing - According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, evolution is still a "theory." I guess they're all a bunch of "rightwing nutbags."

  • @Encom7 The Encyclopedia Britannica is not the evolution authority. Can you find a biologist who opposes evolution?

  • @AmjSing - You claimed only "rightwing nutjobs" claim that evolution is a theory. Since the Encyclopedia Britannica states that it is a theory you're obviously wrong. And just because a biologist believes in evolution doesn't mean he believes that it's been proven to be a fact. It's not a proven fact no matter how you keep trying to spin it.

  • @Encom7 if a biologist believes in evolution then surely they believe its a fact? why would a biologist, a person who believes in the values of science, believe in something they didn't think was a fact.

  • @AmjSing - Unfortunately someone's belief isn't the same as scientific proof. Therefore evolution still remains a theory.

  • @Encom7 there is scientific proof, fossils have been found, the human genome project, the study of genetic drift...i live in the UK and here evolution is fact

  • @AmjSing - There certainly is evidence that supports evolution but there has not been any conclusive proof that the theory is a fact. And according to a BBC article that I just googled, evolution is still considered a theory in the UK. But you're obviously going to keep blathering until you get the last word and can feign a victory.

  • @Encom7 Well it is a fact in the UK, scientists, schools etc all accept it as fact we never have discussions about teaching creationism in schools, BBC articles have no accountability and reference i.e. that is not proof that evolution is still just a theory in the UK...it may also explain why we have the image of Darwin on our money. But your right debating it on here is a bit lame, i'll believe it is a fact and you believe its not and we can carry on with our lives.

  • @Encom7 Um, yeah - except the part where theories are defined as factual and supported by verifiable, demonstrable evidence. Where do people get the idea that theories are not facts? It has to be in a layman's or colloquial use for everyday interpretation, and if so , that would be VERY different from how scientists use/interpret it and theirs matters more since it is the gold standard to the arm-chair experts.

  • @SFGadFly - Um, yeah - except a theory is defined as "a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural and subject to experimentation, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact."

  • @Encom7 That is the layman's definition. The scientific definition is in no way "conjectural." Theories are the unification of facts into a seamless and coherent explanation. Theories arrive AFTER a sufficient amount of testing, not before any testing. Your definition of a theory is more in line with the scientific definition of a "hypothesis." Theories don't graduate into facts. You're engaging in a semantical argument about words you don't even understand.

  • @Tibberclaw - Look I'm sure you think you're sooo brilliant but a scientific theory is NOT the same as a fact. A scientific theory may be supported by some facts but the theory as a whole is still not proven to be a fact. I've never heard any scientist claim that they have proven evolution to be a fact.

  • @Encom7 I don't think you get it. Nobody is saying theories are the same as facts. They are different in nature, not different degrees within the same continuum. Theories aren't any more valid or invalid than facts. You're attempt to distinguish evolution as theory rather than fact doesn't make any sense. Evolutionary theory explains WHY things evolve (i.e. natural selection). The "fact" of evolution is manifest by observing the genetic modification of bacteria, etc. "Evolution" can be both.

  • Again I have never heard any scientist claim that evolution is a proven fact or that a theory is as valid as a fact. And if a fact is not the same as a theory (as you just said) then "the theory of evolution" as a whole cannot be both. It's just partially supported by fact but not fully provable to be true.

  • @Encom7 Do I really have to spell it out for you? "Evolution" is a broad term that can be referring specifically to the "Theory of Evolution" or sometimes the "fact of evolution." I never said the "theory" part is the same as the "fact" part. It is a FACT that we can observe the evolution of species. It is a THEORY that proposes an explanation of how that fact takes place. One is an explanation, the other is a description. One isn't "better" than the other. They are different.

  • @Encom7 The overall point being this: there is no reasonable doubt within the scientific community that evolution happens. The minor points of contention between scientists are in the details of the theory (i.e. how much of it is driven by natural selection vs. genetic drift, etc.). Darwin's original theory has been refined considerably in the last 150 years. The fact of evolution is basically a settled matter that no reputable scientist worries about; it has been experimentally confirmed.

  • @Encom7 Then I suspect you haven't spoken to many scientists about it because the universal consensus is that evolutionary theory is a fact. Facts are the same as a theory; an obvious duh.

  • @SFGadFly

Any scientist worth his weight will tell you evolution is fact. The theory driving it is arguable. Most accept the mechanism of natural selection proposed by Darwin. Some argue for other mechanisms, like the non-gradual mechanism of punctuated equilibrium proposed by Stephen Jay Gould.

  • @sccitylhh Likewise, theories are based upon sets of facts. They're synonymous, meaning evolution is both a theory and fact. The driving forces for evolutionary theory (there are four) are: 1. Natural selection, 2. Mutation, 3. Genetic variation, and 4. Gene flow. Darwin's theory of natural selection that eventually won peer review favor over Gould. If I understand your point, the fossil record will continue to develop with each new species identified and I agree. Cheers.

  • @sccitylhh That's often misquoted. Stephen Jay Gould, NEVER doubted evolution. Punctuated equilibrium only states that large amounts of evolution may occur in relatively short timeframes.

Punctuated equilibrium is simply a type of evolution.

  • @johnedwards1968

I agree. Thanks, maybe I wasn't clear. Gould claimed that the concept of gradual evolution attributed to Darwin was non-existent in the fossil record.

  • @sccitylhh LOL. Gould did NOT claim that gradual evolution was non-existent. He only claimed that punctuated equilibrium was A mechanism. I've never heard anyone say Gould claimed it was the only one.

I think someone might be misinforming you.

  • @johnedwards1968

Punctuated equilibrium was his theory which contrasted against the claim that evolution was a smooth, consistent process in the fossil record. In PE, evolution is marked by lengthy periods of steadiness with occasional cladogenesis. That's clearly his theory, is it not?

  • @sccitylhh Your defintion is fairly sound. Long steady periods of evolution, along with moments of rapid evolution. I think most people choose to ignore the long steady evolutionary periods as static, and Gould NEVER argued for that.

Punctuated equilibrium is AN evolutionary mechanism, not the only one.

Be careful when researching this online. Creationists have an intense disinformation campaign going on about this topic.

  • @sccitylhh To be honest, I've never heard of anyone in the scientific community, who claimed that evolution was a smooth, consistent process in the fossil record. Even in 'The Origin of Species', Darwin argued that it wasn't.

Punctuated Equlibrium is NOT spontaneous development. That's the silliness that the ID advocates have come up with.

  • @johnedwards1968

Gotcha. That was my understanding from his writing. It's been awhile though, I need to revisit it. I'm not scientifically trained, it's more of my favorite hobby, or pastime, if you'll permit me a pun. Thanks for the conversation, I'm used to getting into ad hominem attacks with insecure creationists that can't handle scrutiny.

  • @johnedwards1968 whenever people say Stephen Gould doubted evolution, given his contributions to its understanding, it is like saying Einstein doubted gravity. You are wasting your time with dumb asses.

  • @Tibberclaw Correction: I am saying theories are facts, because they are. Sometimes facts may be modified when there is new data or info about a particular subject. But, at current, evolutionary theory is both a theory and fact. See: evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/nature/IIprocess4.shtml

  • @SFGadFly I've understood "fact" to simply mean confirmed, well-established observations. Theories explain all the facts in a coherent whole. Theories are refined by giving a more robust explanation to a more expansive body of facts. The facts never change, they just become more plentiful and varied. The "Theory of Evolution" isn't something strictly "observed" its a logical explanation of the facts of evolution. FYI: your link did not work properly.

  • @Tibberclaw Theories are not facts, because they are explanations that deal with causes. Causes are not facts, they are logical inferences we make about facts. For example, Ball A hits Ball B, then Ball B moves away from Ball A. Those are two separate facts. We use our pattern-seeking ability to infer that Ball A caused Ball B to move, its not strictly observed. A bit semantical I know, but a noteworthy distinction nonetheless.

  • @Tibberclaw this should work:evolution (dot) berkeley (dot) edu/ + search . Granted, newer theories are supported by fewer observable/replicated data and likely to evolve with time and further development. Likewise, theories that withstand the falsification and peer review processes are generally accepted as fact and refuted by none. In this instance, evolutionary theory is both a theory and fact.

  • @SFGadFly I think you are misunderstanding me. It seems you are just defining "fact" as a rock-solid theory. In that case, I'd agree evolutionary theory is a "fact." I'm using "fact" and "theory" like "pieces of the puzzle." Facts are the "pieces" and the Theory is the "puzzle." In that sense, you wouldn't label the "puzzle" as itself a "piece." The only difference between us is a semantical issue... In substance, we are in agreement.

  • @Tibberclaw Additionally, the model constructs for evolutionary and natural selection theories are solid, verifiable, observable, and replicated. Simply Google: "observed instances of speciation." While the fossil record will likely continue to expand with time and more fossil finds but the theories' overarching constructs and driving mechanisms are not likely to change. Again, I've recited the source at UC Berkeley for info and hope you find it helpful from my previous reply.

  • @Encom7 Theories are facts, period. Why? They're demonstrable, observable, verifiable AND disproved by none. I repeat... That means evolution is both a theory and fact. "The scientific definition of 'theory' should not be confused with the way the term is commonly used to mean a guess or a hunch. In science, a theory means much more and is far more well-founded." For more, see: evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/nature/IIprocess4.shtml

  • @SFGadFly - You seem to have trouble distinguishing from a theory that may be supported by some facts but still unprovable overall and something that is completely provable (aka...a fact.) And having just read an article on evolution (which incidentally I myself do believe is true) there is still debate in the scientific community on various aspects of it.

  • @Encom7 I've cited an authoritative source as a citational reference (again at: evolution(dot)berkeley(dot)edu/ ) for your benefit. What it does NOT mean is that I am 'having trouble distinguishing' that theories are entirely based upon observable, replicated, and even demonstrable sets of facts as is the case with evolutionary theory, but that it should help you clear up any lingering confusion. The theory of evolution is NOT debatable as a whole; a misnomer. Species details however may be.

  • @Encom7 - The following video should clear up the confusion you have about theories in general. I've taken the time to review it and found it won't be a waste of your time, and is available here on YT. For link, see: watch?v=LIm2H0ksawg

  • @elm12976 Whether ;o)

  • @elm12976 funny how you don't even know the difference between weather and whether

  • @6Baltej6 Funny how you are so clueless, ignorant and dumb that you see your language as the primary one, and stupid as you are you cant separate between mistyping/misspelling/not knowing how something in a foreign language is spelled so you turn to spelling it as it sounds and knowing the difference between two different THINGS. America is dieing, americas founding fathers had great ideas, but now you piss in their graves, and americans just sit and watch as their country and the rest fades.

  • @Etrajbe i'm not even slightly offended since your ignorant ass is assuming i'm American

  • @6Baltej6 im not assuming that?, i just commented the video, and how would someone be offended just because their government sucks? my government sucks at times too, doesnt make ME offended.

  • @wspol624 have you BEEN to america? have you talked to REAL americans?

  • where does he ge his statistics from? yeah i can go around asking 100 people questions that they don't care about either. they would give me BS answers. I don't think we are idiots, i think the government is taking advantage of its people, and we can't really do anything about it.

  • I can deal with Maher, and some of the stuff is funny, that old testament new testament thing was good, but the audience seriously annoying.

They're about to cheer for Bush having prior knowledge, than they cheer for him not having prior knowledge, they're cheering for anything he says.

  • @heatbucspies55 No, they applauded twice because the first time he was making statement, the second time was a joke.

  • @voidlam

Well not a very good one. Didn't take much wit.

I don;t see why it deserved such a round of applause.

  • @heatbucspies55 If you didn't get the joke that's no one else's problem but yours.

  • I'm a Canadian and I knew the answer to all those things about US...

  • where is he getting those statistics?

  • Patriotism is loving your country whilst understanding its flaws. If you love a country dearly, the greatest way to show it is to help it be the best country it can be. Thus, only an "anti-American" would be stifle this.

Nationalism is loving your country because it has no flaws. The irony is, however, that every country has flaws, yet if you're a nationalist, those are ones you hate and wage war on.

The thing is, many Americans aren't literate enough to realise they are actually nationalists.

  • @UberNoodleX yes ... I fear nationalism will be the new face of the GOP's more extreme constituents

  • @UberNoodleX Patriotism is beleiving and loving the ideals and principles that your country was founded on, (Freedom, liberty, democracy) while accepting the flaws but at the same time trying to correct them. "The happiest thing that can be said about democracy... is that it is one of the few systems that has been willing to risk a long period of confusion and mixed purposes for the sake of giving man a chance to grow up in mind and responsibility". ~H.A. Overstreet

  • @dapop1001 Hmm. That's a nice quote. It's basically what I said.

  • @UberNoodleX You're not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who says it. ~Malcolm X "The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives." James Madison athour of the American Bill of Rights and co-athour of the US Constitution.

  • @dapop1001 Yeah, and that's exactly what I wrote. I'm not sure what the problem is here.

  • @UberNoodleX I think that means that I agree with you and was trying to reaffirm your ideas with quotes from wise men. I know YT comment section is used to argue mostly but it can also be used by like minded people to try to get their oppinions understood. Too many people think that nationalism is patriotism and it is good to see that someone besides myself understands the difference. Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government. Thomas Jefferson Peace

  • @dapop1001 Shit! You shouldn't agree with people on Youtube without fair warning! ;)

    Thanks for the great quotes!

  • It's true. I had to look up some of those questions.

  • its so true

  • i think this problem has less to do with the education system and more to do with general ignorance created by exceptionalist ideas that the US is #1 and the rest of the world has third-world status. evolving into a less ignorant society with greater awareness for self-education will take some time.

  • Maher is an America hating moron who profits from lies and propaganda.

  • Comment removed

  • I hate Darrel Issa

  • the reason people don`t know that stuff in America is that you can live pretty well without knowing squat about government. I`d rather not have to know that stuff. Say I`m a damn good carpenter, or a great cook, etc and I make a very good living at it. Why the hell should I care about how many senators there are? I`m happy!

  • @toddmastria1 Yes, that is exactly what they want you to be, happy and uneducated :)

  • I like this guy...

  • I sure wish I could just listen to Bill without listening to his stupid audience in the background.

  • BEST. SHOW. EVER.

  • Guess what everyone it dosent matter were all just going to rot in the ground someday so try to enjoy your years living please.

  • bill loves to talk its so important that everyone listens to his shit

  • silly dooshbag..the whole world is stupid..

  • I don't think voting should be a right. It should be a privilege given once people pass the citizenship test

  • @ntesla3327 No, voting should be a right but education should be improve greatly, and testing in math, geography, history, physic, social sciences should be greatly improve. Your kid are somewhat good in english...

Also, the number of documentary should be increase on tv and on radio (You could even use the FCC to put a one minute of "did you know that shit!" "ad/program" on general culture by hours), and science fair should be helped. Basically, end the ignorance.

  • I am a conservative and I know about row verses wade. In one you have to propel the boat with oars, and the other you have to slog through the marsh. I would rather row than wade so I are a re pugnican

  • I am amazed at how blinded by the distractions this country seems to be! We are being led like lambs to the slaughter and all the majority of Americans care about is playing video games, getting high and what their clueless celebrity role model is tweeting. Are Americans stupid? You tell me?! We better wake up and stop letting the media conrol us before we have NO freedom or democracy! Read your bible...

  • @roddy35wv LMFAO! Really??? I was JUST about to "thumbs up" your comment and then you put "Read your bible" at the end... Ridiculous... Religion is 95% of the problem.

  • @00kelevra00

Lol, so you really liked everything he said, but then you decided he can't possibly have said something good because he's religious?

It's peopel like you that create the problem.

  • USA is number one in many of those things.

  • genius.

  • Comment removed

  • I am worry for my country, how can we help resolve this problem. I don’t believe that most Americans are stupid, but I do believe their just ignorant of subject that has more importance than pop culture and sports. Ask these same people of what I mention and they will talk to you like experts. How can we increase the people of this country to be more interested in the works of John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Niccolo Machiavelli, Adam Smith, and Voltaire?

  • @KoRnmunk00 The south is more so, but not by much

  • Spot on.

  • God Bless the Republic!

  • this is hilarious

  • "half of the population looks at books called the old testament, and the new testament, and cannot figure out which one came first. I rest my case."

    pwnage

  • "the average voter thinks foreign aid consumes 24% of our federal budget" that sounds like a set up, why is the number so specific?

To be fair, I only believe (note: believe) the earth revolves around the sun because I've been taught that.

And final question, and this does make me look stupid: assuming that al qaeda orchestrated 9/11, did Osama Bin Laden have nothing to do with it? Sorry if this seem ignornant

  • @ThePolecatz the number is specific because they asked a lot of people what the number was, added the numbers together, and divided by the number asked. that's how you get 24.

if you want to make sure, you can find out for yourself why we arrive at the conclusion that the earth orbits the sun.

bin laden was al qaeda's leader, he had a lot to do with it. if you meant saddam hussein, we don't have evidence that he was involved.

  • WOW! People are idiots.

  • love him or hate him he has a point and is funny as hell.

  • By playing nanny I mean it is time for other nations to start taking more responsibility for their own regions. As a permenant member of the UN security council in theory we are only expected to police human rights in the Americas with the help of whatever other "American" countries are temporary UNSC members at the time. Sounds fair and easy enough to me.

  • I just disagree with this latest fashion of saying America sucks compared to Europe. Most of us are constantly trying to improve the land we live in and having someone constantly complain that some European could do better gets old. I like Europeans too, but they aren't better than us and they have screwed the world up plenty throughout history. To all you EU lovers and US bashers out there I hope it is cold up there on your high horse when you are judging people "you are smarter than".

  • I'm glad Bill Maher is bold and fresh enough to say what a lot of Americans are scared to say. We have a lot of stupid fucking people in America. Let's please stop is so perfect because it's really not. Europe is kicking our fucking ass and we need their progressive attitude so we can catch up to them!!

  • @RealTime88 Please expand on how "Europe is kicking our fucking ass."

  • @lukel121 Education for one thing. Many of the countries have gay marriage. Their healthcare system is much better than ours especally in England and France. Shall I go on? Trust me I'm smart enough to say America is losing to other countries and we are not #1.

  • @RealTime88 I like how you cite your credentials for your point with "Trust me I'm smart". The EU military is a joke and ours is way better (I know you don't care, but we act as a large deterrent against eastern aggressions for all western countries so it counts). Our gas prices are awesome compared to theirs with gas about $9 a gallon in the Netherlands and our cost of living beats the EU's since they tax citizens too much. Their health system can suck sometimes too. Shall I go on?

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 I think America needs to stop acting like the world's policeman yes. They have universal health care in several of these countries of course their taxes are higher. I'd rather pay my taxes on that than on a fucking war most people hate. If a country has universal healthcare then I applaud them, insurance companies suck as much as the drug companies that charge so much whereas if you go to UK it's $12 and free if you are under 16 and over 60.

  • @RealTime88 Granted but I think part of the reason we play world police right now is because no one else will. France and Italy lobbied for an intervention in Libya because Italy buys a lot of oil from Libya (we buy none) and southern Europe doesn't want to deal with illegal refugees. I think we should be ready to intervene to stop mass killings if it is obviously multilateral but no further since the world has also grown used to us playing nanny.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 That's true because so many countires are irresponsible when it comes to their own defense WE end up playing nanny which as I stated we should not be doing this and spending so much in defense which if we didn't use we COULD get a national healthcare plan.

  • Sample statistics are almost never true and the ones that this jew spits out are definitely not.

  • @lukel121 Why does it matter if he is Jewish?

  • @RealTime88 It doesn't matter at all that he is half Jewish, that's just what he is. It's called being descriptive.

  • @lukel121 No it's called being a conservative bigot.

  • @RealTime88 Nobody likes Jews. Hitler had the right idea.

  • According to Bill Maher everyone in the military is stupid as well as cowards. conservatives are all stupid. Retards are like dogs. This guy also gets owned every time he comes out of his safety net of liberalism. And yes, he is a liberal elite tool bag according to his actions. He can say he is a libertarian all he wants but with his constant support of big government that is clearly not the case.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 Not sure what your point is, except that apparently you are defending being stupid.

  • @lancegayhart It was pretty obvious you pretentious hipster-bitch dumb fuck. My point was that that you aren't going to find a large population anywhere in the world that doesn't also have a large chunk of ignorant people; not in the UK, Sweden, US, or anywhere else. Bill Maher is a loser who relies on stereotypes to get his audience amped up and they are so pretentious, thinking they are smarter than everyone else they will never stop drinking his kool-aid.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 "America is stupid compared to what exactly? "

Um - probably about 40% of the rest of the world - mainly Europe and the Far East (whose students we trail badly in every educational measure - and who now pretty much own this country. :D

  • @PeterFormaini You should have answered his question with compared to moss

  • @PeterFormaini Our higher education institutions have consistently been ranked as the best in the world. Considering how hard it is to reach a universal definition on how "smart" someone is I would say we are on the same level as Europe. Although if you are just going to arbitrarily throw out 40% of the world is smarter than us then I have lost. A dumb American like me just can't argue with "facts" like that.

  • @DaMarlboroMan ur a retard!

  • @SRM30 Lol, glad to see you are so biased against Americans you can't even provide a logical arguement against any conservative thoughts they have. Go wait in line to get your sprained ankle checked out and send all your talented surgeons to the US because they don't make shit in Canada.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 youtube "stupid in america", click on the 40 minute video, sit back and watch just how bad our public education system is. We ARE stupid.

  • @fudgie152 Well my WI public school was pretty good but I see what you are saying. I would agree with the video that it is a culture problem and not a money problem. When I was in school most kids focused on playing sports, getting high, getting laid (important but cmon, multi-task) and not grades or the future skills they could offer the workforce. I also don't think such a culture problem can be changed very easily.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 Well, it is sad that the country that is currently the "Leaders of the world" is populated by so many stupid people. USA is the most powerful nation and still has the dumbest damn population that does not even know a damn thing. It is actually kinda scary. "If your population is selfish and ignorant you are gonna have selfish and ignorant leaders" -George Carlin.

  • @jallelind While you should not be commended for quoting a comedian, you should be familiar with why people are so "dumb"... who teaches us what we know or what little we know? This isn't a "lead a horse to water" analogy; they only teach us what they want us to know, reporting only what favors them, spinning truth to shine on good news and ignore the bad; hurtful or not, it helps to end the cycle of insanity... history repeats itself, but if we don't know history, then how do we avoid it?

  • @threepercenter03 i just used to quote to get the message through. The educational system in ALL countries is bad in the sense that it does not teach people to think and ask critical questions.

  • @jallelind I think people often do not realize that stupidity and ignorance are two different things.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 It's just a majority of the country.

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 44 Million Americans can not read or write beyond a 4th grade level! HA HA HA HA HA HA!

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 man you just hear him say americans are stupid but he is saying how much not that other people are stupid he is ashamed of his own country

  • @DaMarlboroMan3 Did you know that the amount of people in India with an IQ over 120 exceeds the entire population of the United States? Our education system is renowned for being poor. I can guarantee you that the average Chinese 8th grader is smarter than the average American 8th grader.

  • @CerberusGX

I can guarantee you that the average Chinese 8th grader is smarter than the average American 8th grader.

So where do you rate the average Black 8th grader?

  • @CSATexan Hell, I don't know. I was referring to Americans overall. Why do you ask?
