I hate the fact that a quick scene from Yankee Doodle Dandy, without the context of the rest of the film, is posted with such a stupid title. James Cagney (whose voice we hear) was a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT.

during that period there were many conservative democrats. most conservative democrats left the party during the 1970's.

@Yeldarb4 but back then Democrats were patriot, today the democrat are anything but, they are globalist and preach global unity and deride nationalism. the title is fitting, the democrats today are opposed to flag waiving, and as Osama said people will pick the strong horse. When Obama speaks down about America and apologizes all over the world the US looks weak and unwilling to stand up for her defense.

I saw this movie one time with my Grandma. I forget what was the guy's name again? something Cohen. Anyways, what movie is this from? i totally forget that too lol. I just wanted to listen to the song Over there but i can't seem to find any videos of it. Please reply ASAP.

His name was George M. Cohan; The movie was "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and Mr. Cohan was played by James Cagney. It's one of the best movies ever and if you haven't seen it in a while, it's definitely worth watching again. They usually play it every year around the 4th of July on some of the movie channels, but why wait that long.
