I have to say I loved the twist. I haven't been thrown for a loop like that by a comic in a long time. Cool review! It sucks that its only going to be a miniseries, I can't get enough of Aliens comics.

i thinks its too early for steve to come back bucky is just hitting his stride as cap for about 10-12 issues he was cleaning up stuff left over from steve now he is having his own adventures lets run with that for a while

Ya know, K....I kinda agree with you, but at the same time, when Cap died, I knew that it was all part of some larger idea that Brubaker had in mind. I may be in the minority here, but I think Brubaker may deliver on this.

I completely agree. Having caught on to Captain America only after Steves death, Bucky is the only Cap I truly know, love, and respect. Sure, I know about Steve as any comic fan does but I always hated his unyeilding self-righteousness and do-gooder attidute. Bucky was the Cap that made me a fan of the series; he was the Cap I found compelling, not Steve, and with that were Steve to reassume his position as central lead in Captain America there's a very strong chance I'll drop the title. :-(

I don't know whether its magic exactly, but according to online spoilers it wasn't an ordinary bullet. Whatever it was, it's given Steve the chance to be "Reborn".

Oh, and you have to see JQ's variant to "Reborn". People have interpreted as him sh*ting on fans. When you see Caps pose in that pic you'll almost immediately understand.

What do you think about the Captain America going on hiatus until Reborn is finished? I'm guessing you aren't very happy about it. I wouldn't be either if I was a huge fan of Bucky Cap.

I'm roiled, without doubt. Buck is the reason I became a fan of Cap and with his depature as lead character so, too, will go my readership.

Reborn being $4 an issue is very encourging, either. It will feature Bucky and the regular cast Captain America during its run, but it what will unltimatly achieve (Steves resurrction) is nothing I'll find myself enjoying at all.

I don't even care. As of todays unvieling of Caps future, I'm done with title. How about that, though? First Spidey, then Cap, and soon to be FF after Millar leaves and DD after Bru hands over the reigns to Mr. Diggle. WOW. My time as a comic fan is coming to end far sooner than I'd ever expect. Oh well. So is the world for me.

I am glad to see Mark Millar leaving FF. His replacement, Johnathon Hickman, is currently 1000 times better than Millar. Good riddance.

As for Diggle taking over Daredevil: that's when I will start buying the book again. I like Brubaker but his time on DD is over.

Wow. I'm in awe. Millar is the only reason I've enjoyed FF as much as I have. Based on his Secret Warriors, I really cannot imagine Hickmans FF being anymore interesting or having as daring ideas as Millars. Of course, I'll give a it a try but the aesthetics of the comic will mar the experience for me more than Hickmans pen will.

Bru's DD is the paragon of what comic books should strive to be in one capacity or another. How could one not LOVE it?

Millar hasn't had a daring idea that wasn't cliched or boring since Superman: Red Sun. His FF run is atrocious.

I didn't say I hated Bru's run on DD. I just think that it has run it's coarse. The writing is top notch and on the surface it is a quality book but for me it's just not doing it. I've read better Daredevil stories. The Return of the King story (which I only read the first two parts of before I dropped the book) was filled with cliches. Maybe it ended good but too late.

I've been following Millar's run on FF and for the most part, it has been boring, but I like "The Masters of Doom" arc.

You may think that, but I think Hickmans run will be pretty uninteresting in comparison. I doubt he'll do anything as contraversiona and equally fascinating as giving Dr. Doom masters who after deemig him a failure destroy latveria and dump Doom in the past like garbage.

Apropos, did you see how Reeds will look in Hickmans run? They have with him as this scruff bodybuiler looking physic. I'm already turned off by that alone.

Personally I think Frank Miller's run on DD was the best. Also he wrote one of the best stories in The Man Without Fear mini. He can't write worth a shit today but back then he did good work.

I'll agree with you on Reed's "new look" in Hickman's upcoming run. I am not a fan of Dave Eaglesham's art at all.

Haven't read it yet. I'm actually leaving for work right now. I'll buy it today. I'm sure we'll be reviewing it this week.

As far as those Frank Miller DD comics, it would probably be cheaper to by the trades. I think there is an Omnibus out with most of that stuff too.

Good to hear. I've heard nothing but positived thoughts about it from all who've picked up a copy. Although everytime I think about this issue and its revelationtion it roils me since it not only marks the beginning of the end for Bucky as Cap, but my time as a fan of the title. If anything they should have let Steve stay in his grave for great time longer and mars one of comics most moving and significant deaths.

Is it Bucky as Cap? If not, I doubt I'll be too interested.

Since you're apparently still awake, I want to ask you about past NA issues(assuming you found it tolerable at some point in its existence). What did you think of the title post Civil War leading up the second annual?

Truth be tols I've never found NA tolerable.. In my opinion the title has just gotten progressively worse since Civil War. It's just the same god damn boring/trying to be cool and hip shit over and over and over. Have you noticed that Bucky Cap does absolutely nothing in that book? After reading Agents of Altas #5 I realized it wasn't the team I hated but the writer. NA kicked ass is AOA. I really think if the book had a competent writer I would be buying it.

Haha Wow. The way Bucky's been relegated to a mute, peripheral character is actually one of the MAIN reasons I dropped NA. As Cap he should be the most forefront and vocal of the group, but as you said, and I couldn't agree more, he does very little, and this in large part due to Bendis' pen. Hell. Perhaps I'll give AoA #5 a buy. I'm really craving some GOOD NA right now!

Hickman's Dark Reign: Fantastic Four mini is the best the FF has been in years. Not to sound like a broken record but the last time the book was really good is when Waid and Ringo were working their magic.

Hickmans FF hasn't been anything special. All it is is Reed trying to figure out his mistakes since CW while his familiy is trapped in other dimensions for whatever reason and HAMMER attackes the Baxter building. Compared to Millars idea of using Galactus as a battery with Doom and Johnny as power sources to bring the remenants of a desolated future population to the present, Hickmans FF is pretty damn lame. Not to say Hickman's run will be bad, but he doesn't seem to have Millars imagination.
