we checked out the video at our local library. it was so enjoyable, fun, and sad listening to these silver foxes talk about the ups and downs of harlem back in the day, during the war and the discrimination . they all look good, and have so much charm, and energy. this is a must see video.
I just finished viewing this film. I loved every moment of it! It was not only educational it was entertaining. I appreciate each member of the Silver Belles. They made me feel good and very proud of their accomplishments in life.
I have musician friends who play 20's jazz, and I appreciate, so much, that they have learned the music from musicians who wanted to pass it along to younger people, just as these ladies are passing along, to younger dancers, the dances they did throughout their career. We're so lucky to have people like that, who help preserve our unique past. Bless your neighbor for playing a part in that!
