  • pussy ass rich white people suk balls!

  • Nice haha

  • did you hear the bald guy. I..I... have to not decline ...uh.... I think he was eating the tainted peanut butter.

  • regardless of the situation, every american citizen has the right to their amendments, however, they company are capable of having a civil action lawsuit. So regardless, they will pay. But kudos for using the 5th amendment.

  • Why so much negativity toward these guys? I'm not an American but nothing bugs me more than Americans who do not appreciate or understand their own Bill of Rights. This is *not* a trial folks. There is nothing wrong with invoking the Fifth Amendment.

Oh, and the politician who holds up the jar with yellow tape, that's just pure entertainment theatrics for television.

    Americans: Read your 6th Amendment.

  • @justcuriousjohn dude you cant say nobody has the right to be angry. we want answers and parnell wasnt giving any. 9 people died, and thousands more have been sick because of this asshole

  • i hope he dies horribly

  • These business owners infuriate me to unknown lengths. I am not happy with the council, as they should be given the power to question these two businessmen to the fullest extent, and no rights of denial to questioning should be given to these cold-hearted criminals!

  • the FDA is worthless and should be removed..

Begin a new agency, with external reviews and auditing

  • These BUSINES OWNERS or MURDERERSactions, lead to more than 600 illnesses and contributed to at least eight deaths. One victim, a 72-year old nursing home resident in Minnesota, survived cancer only to succumb to salmonella poisoning four days before Christmas.

  • Peanut plant owner knew product was tainted, e-mails show

Stewart Parnell, the owner of a Georgia peanut processing plant knew he was shipping salmonella-tainted products, according to evidence presented at a congressional hearing this week

  • I say hang'em all !

  • revco68,

Who's the republican scumbag? Congressman Walden, the guy who wanted the peanut CEO to eat a product out of the jar is also a republican. Seems to be political party has nothing to do with it.

  • Fucking fat pieces of shit scumbags, i'll take the constitution and shove it up their asses those peanut scumbag cocksucking dick faces.

  • LOL

    "Yes."

    What dicks!

  • wow what a doosh bag

  • Yea.. I would LOVE to see you eat.. your own product.. come on..just take the lid off and take a tiny taste.

  • lol they should hold him down and make him eat it

  • go fuck yourself Parnell

  • What if he plead the 5th when he was asked whether he planned on pleading the 5th on for all questions! XD

  • Republican scumbag.

  • 1,2,3,4, FIF

  • he pleads at 5:40

  • They found rats and dead insects in their factory? Whoever the health inspector was needs to get fired along with charging these people for poisoning millions of people who use their products.

  • This shows you that things are sneaking pass FDA and on the market.

  • One word.. "Guilty"

  • as long as they can make money, they dont give a shit whoever dies by this

im not gonna buy their crap products any more.

  • Forget hell. If there were a god, these bastards wouldn't exist. They deserve to be scalped and forced to eat their own products.

I mean, how fucking heartless can you be to be like, "Ah... no one will notice... it's just salmonella..."

  • would have been funny if he pleaded the 5th at 6:15

  • all of those peanut cooperate leaders need to go straight to fucking hell...when a guy commits murder thats only one person, ad the killer goes to jail.. These people could kill and and make hundreds of people and nothing happenes to them..Fucked up shit, this is why we need the government to control these animals.

  • This guy is scum, there should be a law that if you plead the 5th, and you are later found guilty, the punishment is raised for wasting everyones time.

  • Our great country, a young man picks up a gun or a knife and breaks the law by robbing someone of $5.00 and he is sent to prison for a long time.

Our Great Country - Theft of $50,000,000,000 (BILLION) dollars as in the Madoff case and you are placed under house arrest in your $15,000,000 Condominium or Murder as in this case and you are free to leave the room without handcuffs.

Does anyone else see an injustice in this system that is beyond reason?

  • i said the same exact thing

  • You don't think the use of a deadly weapon makes the situation worse--I'm not excusing Madoff, I don't think anyone is--but try being held up at gunpoint and tell me there's no difference.

It's a lot more dangerous and traumatic to be the victim of armed robbery than to be the generally well to do victim of a con man, imho

  • Tell that to the families of those that have committed suicide by losing their life savings to these con men.

And furthermore, I am not defending criminals that use a weapon in a crime, the point I make is let us treat these criminals as they should be treated.

This piece of shit is still free, Madoff is still free when they should be in Prison.

  • Madoff will go to prison, and hopefully anyone responsible for the salmonella will, too. I wrote earlier that these people should be charged w MURDER

But, I strongly disagree with you on the use of a weapon in a crime--gun ownership brings responsibility, something few practice. If you point a gun at someone, it's easy to accidentally shoot and kill them. That is NOT the same as someone w a lot of money getting taken because they put it all w one person--you should never do that

  • In fact, this is totally off topic, but while we're talking about guns 'accidents' (I don't think there's any such thing-there is recklessness) Dick Cheney should probably have been charged, imho

  • I AGREE YES I AGREE

  • You are a thinking man, I applaud you.

  • This video is awesome! Check out Randall Cooksey's Zombie-O-Rama from CNN on YouTube. FDA WARNING: VERY TERRIFYING!! Legend has it he used dead people and unspeakable swamp mojo!!

  • Fucking scumbags.

  • This is the funniest thing I've seen all day.

  • Yes, it is. Reminds me of the Dave Chappelle episode were he too pleads the 5th.

  • The idea that Republicans have cultivated over the years that Government is 'bad' is to blame for this. Of course they dont believe that they just want to be able to play the victim when it suits their purpose. Oh look its bad government again! These regulators cost these poor businessmen money and get in their way! If they make a bad product no one will buy it just let the market decide. Proven 100% wrong as 18 people are in the morgue, sacrifices to a failed Republican ideology.

  • No, its the Democrats who go around saying that. Didn't you see any of Obama's speaches? Campain comercials?

  • Duncan, government isn't bad, in fact it's necessary--and I disapprove of W. But government stifles competition--there's little need to be thrifty or even consciencious when there's no incentive to save money

  • They made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for everyone to try and bribe the committee, but it didn't work.

  • I watched this hearing with great interest and am encouraged to see a greater awareness of the greed and avarice so prominent among the elites who consider themselves "Masters of the Universe." The conservative philosophy of deregulation is finally coming to an end. It has failed us miserably. This case is just one example of how their rampant greed is a threat to our very lives.

  • I'm not sure deregulation is the cause of this, oilwellian.

We have enough laws, they're not enforced. And there's nothing wrong with greed, we just have laws to keep the greedy from preying on their consumers.

I believe that along with the war in Iraq and fiscal irresponsibility, the Bush admin failed us by appointing do nothings to head enforcement agencies like the USDA

    Please don't call Bush a conservative, though. I'm a conservative-and a registered Democrat--(cont)

  • cont--I mistakenly voted for Bush in 2000 because he promised less foreign military intervention and fiscal responsibility.

When elected, he did the opposite, in addition to appointing people like this, people who don't believe in enforcing our laws when corporate profits are at stake. I believe Bush is the worst president since LBJ--remember, LBJ got 60,000 kids killed and God knows how many Vietnamese

Bush was a terrible pres.--the reason I voted for Kerry in 04 and left the Repub party

  • wait, if you believe in fiscal responsibility, why are you now voting democrat? they are even worse about taxes and bloated government than the republicans (and that's saying something)

  • Yeah, the democrats were the ones who got us in to trillions of dollars in debt-- not the republicans who are worse at all.

  • sadly you are correct in a lot of ways

republicans are becoming more liberal than ever, that's why i've been a libertarian for a while now

yet i certainly don't see how obama is downsizing government... what with thinking about nationalizing banks and these bailouts

  • His goal, actually, was to make government bigger. To paraphrase-quote him: "The solution right now is government." It's republicans who like small government power... which is exactly what led to our problems now (businesses basically have free reign to exploit, lie, and go unregulated w/o gov't oversight).

  • yeah that's what i thought their agenda was

and i never really have liked gov. regulation, i am more into the only laissez-faire classical liberalism

hence, i don't really like either republicans or democrats, are both prescribe to more gov intervention that i would like

  • And here's a link w/ more of what he said and stuff:

    ht t p : // thehill . c o m /leading-the-news/obama-government-is-only-solution-to-fixing-economy-2009-01-08. h t m

    (without spaces, tho)

  • pardon, it should be .html

  • I agree--Democrats believe gov't should be there to catch you when you fall (using taxpayer money, of course) or bail you out (pun intended) every time you fuck up--I don't.

I registered as a Dem 1, because I was pissed at W, and 2, to vote for Bill Richardson in a primary. But I don't like Democrats--they're mostly lawyers legislating us to death, stealing from the next generation and perpetuating an entitlement mentality

  • Haha yes i believe all sensible americans have little love for bush.

just wondering, though: why exactly do you like richardson? i am in no way condemning your support of him as i know very little about his political beliefs; so i am simply curious at what draws you to him.

  • Yeah God knows we shouldn't crazy shit like preventive health care. Or that we shouldn't model our health care system on other large state run systems that save people money. We spend a dollar inspecting and litigating every health care claim in this country for every dollar we spend *on actual health care.* How is it an "entitlement mentality" to question that maybe this isn't the most fiscally sound way to keep people healthy?

  • Please remove this video from youtube.

  • I Agree.

  • What scumbags!!! They ought to be shot, execution style.

  • This fat Republican scumbag has a history of knowingly process tainted nuts. If Stewart Parnell had any honor as a man, for the sake of his children, he needs to put a bullet in his head. That's his only way out of this - His life is over anyway once he's doing hard time for the murder on 9 people.

  • Comment removed

  • His answer was so typical Republican slime

  • i wish his plant was in China.

  • the question is retarded.

he hold up a jar with a big sign "do not open" or whatever it says, with warning signs about containimation.

ofc nobody in their right mind would then take it,it would have been another thing if they just gave them peanuts from their company.

  • nobody in this room of court should be aloud to live and take up the air we breath eat your own peanutbutter.Simple as that take him to all his plants and make him eat 5 spoonfulls of each batch. They should all be choked just for having the haircuts and evil ugly face they have.

  • why didn't Mr. Peanut sit down in handcuffs..?

  • These look like the kind of evil, smirking fuckers who made up the entirety of the Bush Administration.

  • also, this co.'s texas branch in plainview was shut down for rodents, holes in the roof, etc and salmonella i think. this branch didnt have inspections since 2005 even though a former asst mgr complained to the authorities about the conditions at the plant. this is just modus operandi for parnell to run these types of plants. he's probably worse than the mgmt at the chinese milk factory that put melamine into their product.

  • Stewart Parnell, president/owner of Peanut Corp. of America, based in Lynchburg, Va., was first appointed to the USDAs Peanut Standards Board in July 2005 and was reappointed in October for a second term that runs until June 2011, according to the USDA. - by the bush administration.

these guys are like those psychos that put razors into halloween candies or needles into the sand at public parks.

  • Every time they plead the 5th someone who's relative ate the tainted product should have walked up and punched them right in their mouth.

  • That is one stupid fickin law. Why don't people in america not just plead the 5th to the IRS man instead of paying bills, that they don't need to in the first place. I would personally turn these fickers into peanuts, even the bald guy that looks like one already.

  • I don't think you quite understand the purpose of the Fifth Amendment.

  • see my previous comment--one unintended consequence of the computer age is that every dope with a computer can now spew forth their uninformed opinion--research people--how fucking hard is to read about the 5th amendent to the constiution. Please have some info before you open your mouth (or keyboard)

You can't plead the 5th and get away with ANYTHING--it just means you refuse to do the prosecutors job for them--duh...and btw, you can't even spell the f word

  • omg how did these fools even steal money, make money let alone poison pplz..i mean come on they don't even know how to use the freakin mic. maybe they did poison pplz by ignorance of cleaning procedures?? or just really lousy heath inspectors that were more stupid than these guys were.

  • so if you plead the fifth... your scott free?

  • You dumb irl?

Other nations also have the right to refuse to answere questions.

However in a court if you just do that you will be taken as guilty and charged.'

  • Is that a serious question---what is with education in this country--pleading the 5th only means you're not testifying against yourself--you can still be convicted, quite easily if there's a half decent prosecutor.

Jesus, there's a lot of misinformation out there

  • ... I'm not sure if legal studies are part of general education... but i do agree our education system is fucked.

hahah tell me if Jesus responds

  • If I was supreme ruler I'd make eat their products.

  • This just proves that our government is populated by mental midgets and low level aparachiks. BO is considering 'subsidizing mortgages' and were having hearings about peanuts? The oil companies are raping the average consumer at the pump and were thinking about peanuts? The government is a bunch of mental midgets.

  • you'd rather save $7 at the pump then get salmonela poisoning?

both issues need attention, but this should be on the front burner because this deals with food, a supply chain, and things that are currently happening

  • I'm surprised that no one has commented on his counsul. Bill O'Reilly.

  • lawyers got it easy~

  • they need to go to jail 4 life or eat their peanut butter they made

  • These people should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

  • the two guys are such idiots. They hae proof in emails and some of the questions are pretty simple ones, but they won't answer ANYTHING. I don't want to say the name I want to call them, but maybe I'll censor the word...they're a bunch of AS*H**ES!

  • oh my god... what a joke. this is sad, answer the god damn question, you're making yourself look like an idiot, and its damaging your reputation and integrity.

  • The guy is an idiot, he obviously did not care what went into the food that he was feeding the public. All he cared about was the cash they were making and the cash they would lose if they tossed all of the contaminated food. the guy is scum and has on integrity.

  • I'm tempted to say they deserve the death penalty simply because they KNOWINGLY contributed to deaths and hundreds of sicknesses. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of the death penalty.

  • Yeah, but you voted for BO who wants to 'subsidize mortgages' and 'nationalize healthcare'. The reason there are mental midgets in government is because mental midges like you elect them into office.

  • Well, can we agree they should be charged with murder? I think that's fair; they killed 18 people as far as I'm concerned

  • Definitely. in the 1st degree - it was pre-meditated.

  • They know that they are guilty!

  • man, what pieces of shit.

There should just be a day when America cleans house; where all good, or even decent people grab a gun and line the crooked up against a wall and shoot them. Theyre all guilty of treason.

  • Well, horseflu, Germany tried that in the 30s--and what did they find--well, sometimes your judgment about who's a POS is wrong

The fact that these guys appear to be douches means THEY should have a trial and go to jail if convicted--not that you should take the opportunity to purify the country and eradicate those you don't like

  • They refuse to answer the questions. They've been quoted as asking to have the tainted products go through so not to lose money. As a result, 18 people are dead.

They should be delt with as though they were murderers.

You may not believe this, but I don't like the death penalty - it's over used, but if these men had killed 18 people with a gun, they'd be facing a firing squad. For them, death is a righteous recourse.

  • Now on this we agree, horseflu--I just think your previous comment could be misconstrued--I'm all for putting these people on trial. If my kid had been poisoned, I'd be beyond angry

  • Stewart Parnell has a face that looks like something I ate and lost. Is he storing peanuts in those chubby cheeks for winter?

  • To me it is sad to know that this is what our country is made of. People doing anything to make a buck and worry about the effects it could have later (if any).

  • violent mob rule is looking SO TEMPTING about now

  • "Who said they wouldn't get a trial dummy? People who knowingly serve another human with poisonous food and cause death are guilty of murder. China just sentenced some executives of a infant milk company to death for selling poison, we should follow their lead." I wouldn't follow China's example on anything, ever. Habeas corpus and the 5th amendment are there for a very, very good reason. China's legal system is a joke.

  • Once again I have to correct the ignorant. We are debating penalties for a criminal, not rights given to a person in the judicial systems of the USA and China.

  • Don't worry about it. These two punks will get million dollar buy outs when the decision is made.

  • Your profile says "Civilization I for Windows World Champion (score fraudulently rejected by Twin Galaxies)." I'm sorry, I didn't know I was talking to a person with so much knowledge of civilizations and law. Perhaps after I have discovered Jurisprudence I will be able to understand your youtube comment brililance. Tool.

  • LOLOLOLOL that line was a joke you dumbass I worked for twin galaxies or 2 years you fool.

  • Quid pro quo, you defend something sad with something almost as sad.

  • Dude do I go to were you work and slap the fries out of you hand?

  • Highly original retort there, Parker Lewis.

  • Habeas Corpus doesnt actully forbid the death penalty.

  • I believe in the context I was using it was to state that even assholes have a write to a trial to defend themselves from the political movements of the state.

I fully endorse these men spending long amounts of time in the filthiest, most crowded mostly black prisons eating peanut butter sandwiches until they die.

  • Republicans: Look the other way and pretend it's not happening. Democrats: Eat the fucking peanut butter you crackerjack asshole.

  • LOL. Thanks, U.S. Government, for protecting us from terrorists.

  • Twats can't even man up - subhumans, criminals, murderers, you put $ before safety, before life.. this is meglegent homicide and neglegent injury at the least...

  • Shooting this asshole in the head wouldn't give me any satisfaction I'd rather strip him of his right's so he can't plead the 5th amendment then resort to torture tactic's, And after a vigorous beating put him on life support so we may beat the shit out of him again and again and again.

  • Wait!!!! First give him a fair trial! THEN take him out back & shoot him in the head.

  • Take this asshole out back & shoot him in the head.

  • Both of this idiots obviously did not give a hoot about anyone's lives - they will go to trial and hopefully some Judge will have the guts to give them life sentences. The company should be closed down immediately. These guys are among the worse scum of humanity

  • youtubes having a tough time playing this video, its pissing me off

  • this wont load past 1/2

  • I get the same error...bummer, too, because I posted it on my blog.

  • That was enlightening

  • Fine them, liquidate their assets, put them in prison. They are criminals.

  • I would like to see some jail time for these criminals. Legal proceedings against the government agencies that allowed this should happen also. This is a sad travesty with fatal consequences.

  • We should take the Chinese policy for executives that produce poisonous food products and start putting people to death.

  • biggerflexible:

So much for the US Constitution, eh?

We are not barbarians...even criminals have rights to due process.

You would make an excellent communist or a participant in the barbaric French Revolution.

  • Who said they wouldn't get a trial dummy? People who knowingly serve another human with poisonous food and cause death are guilty of murder. China just sentenced some executives of a infant milk company to death for selling poison, we should follow their lead.

  • Yeah, follow China's lead, they're a true model of how to run an effective, democratic government.

  • You really are a simple creature. We are debating criminal penalties not government styles. Understand?

  • Oh, I see, you're debating government STYLES. True, Chinese do have those awesome Marxist gray outfits for all their vice premiers and what not. Wait, what? Do you believe that there is a difference between a nation with an opaque and 100% politically manipulated legal system (wherein execution sentences are quite normal and easily dispensed) and a system that at least aspires to be transparent and respects the rights of habeas corpus? As evil as these men are, this is politics, not law.

  • Actually, nevermind what I said, that's irrelevant. Anyway, I agree with your opinions on this matter and the way you support your argument is very thorough and sensible.

  • Actually, as barbarous as the french revolution was, I think it was very much justified.

  • That's the bad thing about pleading the Fifth - which IS their right. In the "court of opinion", by not answering even the questions that seemingly sound harmless, you are judged as hiding something so you MUST be guilty.

Now, what would have been real interesing is if those bankers that were hauled in to a hearing on the same day all decided to plead the fifth. In THEIR cases, I don't think they deserve 5th Amendment protection - they need to answer the questions.

  • everyone has the same rights under the law--what do people want, show trials? It isn't the job of congress. That's for prosecutors

What is with people? It's ok to deny constitional rights to people because you're upset or scared-we've 8 yrs of that-enough. The 1st amendment doesn't only protect speech you agree with. The right to plead the 5th doesn't apply solely to the innocent.

Don't expect a confession of wrongdoing-work for evidence and use your brain for once

  • yeah, nhtyger makes a good point. Granted... my gut tells me I want to stab these fuckers myself. But yeah, using emotion to take away rights of citizens ain't right, because it definitely gets abused...and then we're all fucked.

  • Mr. Stupak from Michigan- Right or wrong, he declined to answer based on his 5th amendment rights... stop w/ the questions...

  • mr. chairman, members of the comittee, on the advice of my counsel, i respectfully decline to answer your question based on the protection afforded me under the united states consitution.

  • As much has I feel annoyed with the owners, they have the ability and are allowed to plead the 5th.

  • wow Mr.Pea Corp needs to take responsibility for at least part of it.

  • I don't think he will TAKE it, but I believe we will ASSIGN it to him through the justice system.

And oh by the way, don't forget that Michael Phelps has been busted for the pot.... some proportionality would be good in this country. Hold these white collar criminals accountable, and leave the 'no victim' people alone.
