I think most people credit Kanchan Ji with this song because her version is more internationally known compared to Sundar Popo's version. It is myy personal opinion though that both are just as great. The chutney genre of music suffered a great lost when Kanchan and Sundar died. Oh another note though tomorrow is actually Kanchan Ji birthday.

@trinidee247 sorry to break it to you but jord2289 is correct, the song was written by Sundar Popo. Anup Jalota did a short rendition of this song on one of his LP's which also feature Sundar Popo. Giving credit to the people who deserve it is important and Sundar deserves to be accredited for his work.

sundar also teamed up with the husband and wife perfomers from india babla and kanchan(kanchan SINGing the vocals in this) they come to the west indies to guyana and trinidad alot to do live performances to the indian crowds there
