@MrPabsify if you would have eyes instead of potatoes you would see that there are several cuts. and if you would have GOOD ears you would hear that the parts themself sound good and harmonic. its just a bad mix.

you can't really compare all these guitarists that have totally different styles of playing. They all have different strengths in technicality and musicallity. I love Wintersun myself, but have you honestly ever listened to a single Rhapsody (Of Fire) album? "Dis guy" has incredible talent as a musician and songwriter, not just as a shredder. You shouldn't judge his creative talent based only a youtube video which is obviously just about showing off technique and skill.
Another thing: it's not just about the speed here. It's how he uses it. Many guitarists can play fast; few can play that specific combination of notes fast and clean.
@evolutionmb I don't think so; it's a custom guitar for one, and is likely to be more expensive than the Jem...so the Jem 'loses' out on price. Also, Ibanez doesn't give you an option of woods, of which there are many, whereas an independent luthier should (and likely did, given that Trulli's not an amateur, and wouldn't get a guitar just from anyone). So, the Jem once again loses out here. Also, the quality of the build is not likely to be significantly different from the Jem.
@ExEverest10 - Price doesn't always make it a better guitar, but it does have some elements of an Ibanez Jem no question. Vine inlays and the headstock are "very" similar to the Jem model. IMO it doesn't sound as nice as a jem either, now granted this guy isn't even in the same league as Vai or is using a Carvin amp, but it is what it is....

This video is only meant to show off technical skill. It is not meant to "sound good" It is for Luca's teaching program. The tone is coming out of a Line 6 Pod.
Luca is an amazing musician, the musical composition comes first for him. Guitar is a tool that he has mastered, but for those of you who think that Luca's music is all about playing fast nonsense, this is just not true. Luca has a very good balance in his compositions and creates solos that are very melodic and creative.
@Geoffio Luca makes awesome music,he makes awesome riffs and awesome solos.He has a way more interesting style than Malmsteen has who only play fast alternate picked and sweep picked solos and gets boring after two minutes

Luca Turilli definitely isn't the cleanest shredder. I noticed this on his solo albums. However, he is an excellent songwriter/composer and has put together some fantastic albums. He usually gets a another more precise lead guitarist to compliment him on the albums. I would not judge Turilli because his solos aren't perfectly clean. He shines in other areas.

Guess what, fuck-o! This type on music isn't supposed to be played on ac acoustic. Try playing an acoustic song on an electric with distortion and see if it doesn't sound like shit.
@NeoMetalx I disagree. His technique is sufficient to play what he's playing but I notice a few mistakes. Notice how his palm is in constant contact with the lower strings when he's playing on the higher strings; I find this to be a mistake because 1. If he was to play staccato on the top strings, with pauses between notes, the rubbing would be quite audible in those pauses (unless he's using jazz strings with rounded edges, which don't produce scratching sounds, but I assume that he doesn't).
@NeoMetalx 2. If he wanted to play that fast while droning a lower string, he would be unable to. This too serves to be a limitation, and one that's unnecessary when you can learn to play like that without muting half of the guitar. 3. Because he's using a floating bridge, which is incredibly sensitive, it's likely that he's putting the guitar out of tune when his palm hugs it like so.
@NeoMetalx Apart from this, notice the screw-ups, of which there are a few. (In other words, be on the look out for muted notes which weren't supposed to be hit, or were meant to be hit, but were fretted poorly) Hopefully, this is due to him not being warmed up at the time of filming.
Also, you are 'hating on him'. You dislike his composition enough to post a comment about it. Don't be a pussy, and state exactly how you feel. Be an individual, not a submissive sheep.
I don't know what's up with the sound, whether it's the guitar/amp or recording devise, but all you jokers on here mocking Turilli as being "just fast" or "not caring about sound or technique" OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about this man. @NeoMetalx I disagree. His technique is sufficient to play what he's playing but I notice a few mistakes. Notice how his palm is in constant contact with the lower strings when he's playing on the higher strings; I find this to be a mistake because 1. If he was to play staccato on the top strings, with pauses between notes, the rubbing would be quite audible in those pauses (unless he's using jazz strings with rounded edges, which don't produce scratching sounds, but I assume that he doesn't).

@NeoMetalx 2. If he wanted to play that fast while droning a lower string, he would be unable to. This too serves to be a limitation, and one that's unnecessary when you can learn to play like that without muting half of the guitar. 3. Because he's using a floating bridge, which is incredibly sensitive, it's likely that he's putting the guitar out of tune when his palm hugs it like so.

@NeoMetalx Apart from this, notice the screw-ups, of which there are a few. (In other words, be on the look out for muted notes which weren't supposed to be hit, or were meant to be hit, but were fretted poorly) Hopefully, this is due to him not being warmed up at the time of filming.
Also, you are 'hating on him'. You dislike his composition enough to post a comment about it. Don't be a pussy, and state exactly how you feel. Be an individual, not a submissive sheep.

I don't know what's up with the sound, whether it's the guitar/amp or recording devise, but all you jokers on here mocking Turilli as being "just fast" or "not caring about sound or technique" OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about this man. The man's a musical genius and a true virtuoso. Show some respect and get learned, haters.

Neo Classical metal solos like this are so difficult....and ''feeling'' comes from note selection and the rate of speed you play them .....Blues rock solos are so easy to play...usually boring to hear

I've even got speed, check out my videos, anyone can shred like that, it's really not as hard you think. Now Feel? Only some guitarists have feel, anyone can practice speed, but to practice perfect feel for an instrument? you're wrong. Blues solos easy? Check out "Na Veia" by gustavo guerra... your sick

Yngwie and gilbert can do good neo classical, this guy is terrible.
