Elena and katherine should both have chosen Damon over Stefan. Stefan was a little spoiled brat who forced Damon into becoming a vampire and living with the pain of being the regected. He was the one who truely loved Kat and now loves Elena, no questions asked, no compulsion... Stefan on the other hand was compelled and even though he has feelings for Elena he's no saint... just as misguided and lost as Damon, but with the plus of being stupid.
