Vaccinations, at what cost? Saving lives, yes. Some children and families suffer the negative effects of vaccination for the rest of their lives. $50,000 a year towards therapy and treatment, including harsh medications for autism. Firstly vaccines do not give 'lifetime immunity'. In fact there is no solid proof they give ANY immunity and more and more cases of immunized children contract these diseases. @heather2844 People do realise that starvation is killing people in poor countries and that's why we raise money for different charities such as Feed The Children and Oxfam. So while there are people working on that, the Gates Foundation can work on something more complicated, something that needs more money thrusted into it. To feed families in poverty is cheap so a charity can sort that out, whereas vaccinating against diseases and infections needs research which costs quite a bit.

Vaccinations, at what cost? Saving lives, yes. Some children and families suffer the negative effects of vaccination for the rest of their lives. $50,000 a year towards therapy and treatment, including harsh medications for autism. I agree that vaccinations in the long run, for the world are the right thing to do, but be honest about the risk. Stop hiding the potentially damaging, debilitating effects on 1/150 of the millions vaccinated with combination shots, or multiple shots in one day.

Sure in the past 'some' but not all vaccines have killed a few people. Since then these problems have been rectified. If Bill Gates invests his (and Warren Buffett's) money on industries like textile and electronics manufacturing that can create jobs, the investment will be more sustainable than vaccines and when the poverty is gone, people can afford to vaccinate their children. Firstly vaccines do not give 'lifetime immunity'. In fact there is no solid proof they give ANY immunity and more and more cases of immunized children contract these diseases. Google 'fully immunized outbreak'. Secondly vaccines have NEVER been properly tested for safety and more and more devastating side-effects emerge year on year. Thirdly vaccines have never been proven conclusively to eradicate ANY disease ANYWHERE.

Guys watch In Lies We Trust, its a documentry by Dr Leonard Horowitz, if you read about him you'll see that he's more than competant unlike most teens on the internet with their conspriracy theories. He addresses the issue of vaccines and its a very imp documentry to watch - the documentry is on youtube (Y)

@InnerSmile72 How the hell is people living longer gonna transfer into people wanting to have less children? That is not logical at all and it's not just some western culture to have a lot of children either! You are simply mislead by what might seem to be a will to do good, but its not. Greedy people can be very misleading like many cultures have seen in the past, a form of control if you will. I wish I was wrong.

If Bill and Melinda Gates want to help save lives in poor countries, why don't they try feeding them? Starvation is killing them, not polio. It's their billions to do with as they wish, but why would Bill Gates' one wish be to depopulate the earth, using his favorite method, vaccination? @heather2844 People do realise that starvation is killing people in poor countries and that's why we raise money for different charities such as Feed The Children and Oxfam. So while there are people working on that, the Gates Foundation can work on something more complicated, something that needs more money thrusted into it. To feed families in poverty is cheap so a charity can sort that out, whereas vaccinating against diseases and infections needs research which costs quite a bit.
