  • this is the fight that not only made me a boxing fan, but an Erik Morales fan. he is still my favorite fighter ever.

  • No mexican or any man of any race for that matter will any outwill an Irishman. But cheers to Morales for this great fight.

  • all I got to say is that Morales was born for this amazing!!

  • Wayne McCullough is 100% IRISH!!!

He represented Ireland and won a silver medal at the olimpics he is not British !

  • @SuperMarkjones Anyone from Northern Ireland fights for Ireland in the Olympics, it's the way the boxing is organised in the UK and Ireland. You should quit trying to claim Wayne for one flag or the other, he's the pride of Belfast, he represented protestant, catholic and dissenter - EVERYONE. He came from a loyalist (British) background, but all of that is irrelevant....he's just Wayne Mccullough, a brave and tough fighter who took on a legend in Morales. Take your petty arguments elsewhere.

  • Wayne McCullough is one tough Irishman.

  • Yeah, yeah, the ass kicker and tough here is Eric Morales. Period.

  • Hard to believe two of the judges only had it 112-116. But Erik must have thought, "What the fuck do I have to do to get this bastard outta here???"

This is the fight that made me the Erik fan I have since been!! :)

Very classy of Wayne to clap for Erik, you don't see much of that.

  • TOP fighter wayne

  • McCullough was a beast! Shame he had no power tho. Great fight this.

  • great fight ! , thanks for posting it .

  • the whole human race share approximately 99.9% of the same dna. we all started and migrated from the same region in Africa 150,000 years ago so we're all practically the same anyway. all this talk about creeds, colours being superior, just shows disrespect for the boxers themselves and self-ignorance. i cant see collins, hatton, ali, morales, barrera, any fighter, disrespecting another fighters roots

  • @andyloui1

Even a 1% variation in DNA makes a huge difference. I challenge you to leave the comfort of western society and live in Liberia for a month, then come back and argue.

  • @prooc

You say all the best British boxers were either

    "niggers and dune coons"

i have two words for you

    JOE CALZAGHE

  • Wayne McCullough and Oliver McCall, two best chins

  • respect to wayne for this fight.

  • Best, wicked billing that night, Naz was the true main event

  • Yeah but wayne and erik gave the fans a war,Naz and soto was one of the worst fights in history,Wayne and erik saved the show..

  • great fight... nice post

  • On another note, i enjoy George Foremans commentating, except for when Bernard Hopkins and Felix Trinidad fought. That was extremely annoying haha :)

  • Wayne McCullough isnt as tough as nails or granite. Granite and nails are as tough as Wayne McCullough. Ive seen people take punches very well, but ive never seen someone take a punch like that and continue fighting the way he did. Always heard about hes chin and now i know why. Someone said he got hurt in this fight? I thought he might of been stunned, but i didnt really see him hurt. If he was hurt he definitely doesnt ever show it :)

  • Irish people are tough!!!

    Respects and greetings from Mexico!!!

  • @LEGIONARIO1970 gracias amigo!! so are you mexicans so many world class boxers

  • its a pity wayne wasnt a big puncher.........,he was a nightmare to face,he would take your best shot and keep coming...if he had power he might have been unbeatable

  • erik was lucky

  • One of my top 5 faviorite fights!

  • both guys r great fighters

  • course wayne is irish.......check out the interview on quick fire joe aguire

Q.What was it like winning an olympic medal?

Wayne; "it was fantastic, to go and represent YOUR COUNTRY was amazing"

  • Commentators are on drugs

  • fuk ye british priks!!! waynes irish ! yed only love em ta be fukin british....get it inta yar thik head!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBoxingUK2 Lol, all your good british fighters were niggers and dune coons. How about getting some good white home grown fighters you weak bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • there white? Learn english

  • @MrBoxingUK2 One's Italian/welsh, hatton has some irish in him, froch is a bum, and buchanan's scottish. Ive called you out before on the mccloskey thread and you didn't reply?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBoxingUK2 On the mccloskey/rasilla thread (wich you have apparently deleted rather than reply) in which you made the idiotic statement that carl froch was better than any irish fighter ever. I pointed out the sheer number of fighters of irish extraction in the hall of fame (there is next to none english there) as well as pointing out froch is pretty much the same size as irish lightheavyweight greats such as conn loughran ect, and saying imagine the beating they would put on him.

  • hatton does have irish in him.

  • Comment removed

  • yes of course hes english, but the hatton family make no bones about having irish in their blood, just like ali, he had rish blood, but he wasnt irish, the point is, both ricky and matthew have said they are proud of their irish blood, thats it.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBoxingUK2 What about dave mcauley, or mccullough? Collins comes to mind too, and no, I don't think carl could have beaten him. I even think froch would have been beaten by british s-middleweights back in the day, such as francis, starie, but I guess..They..Um..Were a little before your time?

  • lol i like you and your uploads, but come on, collins would murder froch.

  • What sort of racist shit is that?

  • wayne is fukin irish ye dopes whether he's from north or south hes irish-no matter wat occupying force governs the north.

actually us down south have more in common culturally with britain than northeners do.

thank the celtic tiger and the west brits for that one

  • How can ya not like Wayne Mcullough after that?

    Great fight, thanks for posting.

  • these commentators are sooooooooo stupid

  • whatever about wayne.Steve Collins is from Dublin which has nothing to do with Britain,no matter what your political viewpoint

  • wayne is from the shankill rd, he,s a prod from NI.anyway who gives a fuk, wat he was and is , is a champion with the heart of a lion.the likes of N,ireland or ireland will not produce again for a long time.the old saying hard a nails def applies to this man.

  • actually he was representing IRELAND.not the repubulic of ireland.BOXING is a 32 county sport.even if he considers himself british.hes from the island of ireland,so he has to be irish. you can be british AND irish

  • harvest21o21982 and lordolley are ye twins by any chance, cause ye are both brain dead morons.. steve collins is irish,he was born there and lives there, wayne mcCollough was actually born in the republic of ireland and moved to the north when he was young,he himself boxed in the olimpycs for ireland and won a silver medal.. so please get your facts straight you assholes

  • Sorry ruaric, I love Wayne M. Which is why I am on you tube watching him. I stand corrected if he was born in (Southern) Ireland the nation. However, everywhere I've read and from the man himself in interviews says he was born in BELFAST, Northern Ireland. This country is part of Great Britain and citizens hold British passports. The confusion lies that citizens of N. Ireland can hold TWO passports.

  • no thecitizens can choose which passport to hold, you dont seem to know too much.wayne mccullough is irish, he calls himself irish, im irish, irish passport.

  • Im mexican but ive always wanted 2 go 2 ireland it seems like a beautiful country

  • You have both got it wrong. He's lived in America almost his entire adult life and became an American citizen several years back, which makes him, like myself, Irish-American.

  • @honesthans wrong again, he is scotch-irish american. Quite a large portion of irish american's are. They just dont recognise it as much

  • @honesthans

ok you're all wrong, Wayne was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he is British/American.

  • @honesthans a lot of people who think they are Irish-American are actually Scotch-Irish. Especially if they came from Ulster (Northern Ireland) like Wayne. The Ulster Plantation happened then the plantation of America

  • @ruaraic He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK

  • Er, its Éire.

Scots hold British passports, theyre still Scottish. The Welsh hold British passports, theyre still Welsh. The Englishblahblah you know what Im saying.

Good solid performance by the wee man but Morales is a cut above.

  • wayne mccullough and steve collins are the two toughest british boxers ever. no way anyone could stop them.

  • wayne is irish.

  • Wayne is from NORTHERN IRELAND. The inhabitants of this country are BRITISH. N.I. is part of Britain, not IRIE. Get your facts straight bonafide43.

  • and wayne has an olympic silver representing THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND so guess that makes him IRISH

  • He also has a medal for N. Ireland and was born in Belfast, N.I.(part of the U.K). He actually holds TWO passports as a member of that country. On second look I think your right. I would call him Irish, yet he is British. Like jaifaican posted below, you can have a British passport and still be Welsh. Likewise N. Ireland. My point is that even though he fought for Ireland the country, he is from N. Ireland which is British, not Ireland the sovereign nation.

  • Northern Ireland is not British seeing as Britain is the island of england scotland and wales...add NI an u have the UK..in other words "The united kingdom of great Britain AND northern ireland"

stop claiming irish fighters you fuckin brit cunts you have two other countries to steal offstay the fuck away.

  • He won an olumpic medal representing IRELAND,not the Republic of Ireland.

Boxing is a 32 county sport in ireland. The border is irrelevant, like in Rugby.Only team that i can think of that isnt on a 32 county basis is soccer.

  • if only wayne had a punch as hard as his chin , sadly not but still a fine fighter

  • The first HBO fight I ever attended. Good upload.

  • Wayne is no pussy - I would like to see anyone here go 12 with a prime morales and still be swinging toe to toe at the bell

  • Wayne, you are our role model, Fighting Ulsterman

  • Did anybody else have this fight closer? Although, McCallough was hurt and Morales never was, I thought it was 6 rounds to 6. There were some rounds were McCallough put all the pressure but Morales landed 2-3 combinations and the commentators still gave Morales the round. Any thoughts? By the way, Morales is my favorite fighter of all time, so I'm not saying this to knock on him. I just think there were some rounds were he fought awfully.

  • I respect your opinion but I think 6 to 6 is a fantasy. Morales was consistently connecting with clean, thudding shots. At times, he coasted but that can just be smart pacing. McCallough was throwing but they were light and ineffective except for a few flurries here and there. I doubt anyone could knock McCallough out but the body shots took a lot of his energy away in this fight.

  • What was your score?

  • 9-3 Morales

  • yeah the damage was one way but punch for punch, which is how boxing is properly scored, it was close with morales just edging in class and mccullough hanging in with pure grit and un-natural heart.

  • MORALS # 1

    MEXICO WARRIOR

  • IDIOT! What a ridiculous comment!

  • Mccullough's wife ruined his career.

He had huge gaps in between major fights, and thanks to her getting rid if his trainer and manager, he actually spent the last weeks training in his hotel room.

  • @tinrib656 NOT TRUE! My manager became a promoter and couldn't do both jobs. Once Eddie Futch retired, I had to get a new trainer. My trainer and I trained together in my hotel room!

  • Wayne, if this really is you, deep down you know yourself. You don't go into a fight against p4p'ers like morales and hamed with that amount of ring rust and and such sparce preparations, especially as your a momentum fighter you was used to fighting so regularly. Judging by how close you pushed them, it stands to reason that if you were fully prepared you would have won.

  • I fought only the best in my career and lived to talk about it :) I had long lay offs through no fault of my own. I'm a much better fighter when I'm active. But this is boxing and I have never made an excuse in my life. Not gonna start now!

  • Comment removed

  • pacquai wouldnt have made a fool of wayno like he did moralez

  • Morales was ancient when he fought PAcquiao for the first time, and he still beat him.. Something "Wayno" could never have done in his prime. The next two fights with Pac mean almost nothing as Morales was finished.

  • mccullough was rock , what a fighter

  • mccullough is irish buddy!!

  • McCullough a real scotish warrior

  • irish

  • You could sooner KO a brick wall than you could Wayne McCullough.

  • What a great fight. I must say though, I had the fight closer: 7 rounds to Morales & 5 to McCollough.

  • mexico # 1

MORALES BEAT THE SHIT OF WAYNE

  • He didn't come close to knocking him down. McCullough is a tougher fighter than Morales. He wouldn't have got the shit knocked out of him and knocked down multiple time against Pacquaio like Morales was.

  • McCullough a real good solid fighter maybe he drink, smoke too lol, morales I think he have more cardiac breath

  • McCullough was a warrior in his prime ! just liek micky ward !

  • MORALES TRUE WARRIOR

  • if McCullough had of had a punch on him he would have beat them all. Morales, Barra, Naz, Pac and the rest. just didn't but by fuck you could beat him like a bass drum and still he stood there. never done once.EVER

  • maybe im agree...

  • please post erik morales vs jesus chavez

  • great video thanks have u got the fight with erik morales vs jesus chaves ive u have could u plz post it fanx

  • I've always wanted to see that fight. It's one of the few Morales fights I've missed. If someone does have it, it would be fantastic if they could put it up!

  • morales was fucken INSANELY good.. im SOOOOO happy that he beat pacquiao..actually....a dehydrated skinny pale morales was winnin the 2nd pac fight until he gassed out..prime vs prime morales WOULD FUCKEN OBLITERATE that pussy pacquiao..manny "i only fight PAST PRIME FIGHTERS" pacquiao.

  • thats fuckin true, its the most intelligent comment i read here

  • im a filipino, i respect Erik Morales very much! he fights like a tiger! he is a clssy fighter! and the antidote for this scientific boxer is a brawler like Pacman! someday Pacman will loose to a much brawler boxer, thats life, everything has his own much!being past prime is no excuse! if u are an old boxer dont fight! if u fight and u lost just shut your mouth as well as your supporter!

  • McCullough's chin is made of titanium steel or something. But Morales was just so good in his prime.

  • mexican jorge solis is on his prime and he is undefeated..but still the pacman ko this guy!!!!morales after the trilogy with pacquiao..fought against wbc interim lightweight champion david diaz..many says that morales has lost to pacquiao bcoz hes not in his prime..but morales last up to 12 round against david diaz..so whats the big fuzz to criticize pacman?????

  • the weight duh

  • Jorge Solis was a nobody he never beat anyone to deserve that fight he wasnt even ranked on the top 15 for fucks sake,

what good was he on his prime and undefeated if he's a fucken nobody. Get real.

  • still pacman is the best!!!!!!!!!

  • penalosa was much better than pac

  • Mike 'who put a freakin tattoo on my face?' Tyson is greatest of all time.

    Thanks for great video:)

  • I think Erik Morales was the best foe of our very own "Pacman",during his peak(prime)! he is skillful and a thinking fighter,he knows how and when to throw a punch to his opponents. But the Pacman was detined to knocked out this guy!

  • pffft, pacman already lost to morales lol. the 1st fight always matters, morales training center was burnt down when he lost to pacman dumbass. morales was way past his peak when he fought pacman, and still beat his monkey ass lol.

  • You're mixing Barrera up with Morales. It was Barrera's training camp in Big Bear that was burnt down while he was training for his first fight with pac

  • no mames que cabron peleaba el terrible el mejor mexicano de la era post chavez

  • damn i give McCullough credit but was outgunned by morales

  • great fight mccullough is tough as hell.if he had more power like george was saying he would of definetly have been in the fight. morales is skilled as hell.

  • my fave fighter of all time. TERRIBLE!

  • yeah, and his attitude is terrible as well !!

  • What a fucking fight! McCullough is hard as nails! But, couldn't really cut it with the top guys. Still, a true warrior none the less!

  • Erik Morales

    one of the best

  • good fucken fight!! props for the upload.

  • Thanks man!
