ok i have followed your guidence step by step and nothing changes. been playing around with switch res and that doesnt change anything either. im thinking it has to written in the boot setup, how can i disable it loading up the default video settings.
any help really apreciated on this, spent hours and hours tring to find a solution, and none of the kexts i have found worked so far.
@Ihakey boot in sage mode, or with "GraphicsMode"="1680x1050@32" change the 1680x1050 to your original resolution, and turn your original screen res back in systempreferences, Quotes ("") are important, type them also in chameleon
Looks like there are no drivers for those. You should be able to edit com.Boot.plist shown in this video and in the string add 1280x1024x32. On a forum someone with the same graphics card says that works.
does not work in hackintosh

All I had to do was reinstall Snow Leopard and update that to Lion. Now I was able to set it to 1600x1200.

I typed in a resolution and it says Cannot Display This Video Mode.
I reckon that my screen doesn't support the resolution because the writing was from the screen. Am I correct or is it to do with my graphics card?

@luigeluis93
You need to find graphics card drivers for more resolutions, reply with your graphics card and I'll try to find a driver for it.
