I went to University in September 1997 and had this on non-stop play for the whole of the first year...I'm back in that single study bedroom as we speak....
I had eaten some pot brownies by myself and was in a shitty, negative mood - then I put this song on and it fucking lifted me out of it. Amazing!!! They have that power!
my favorite Teenage Fanclub album! I don't know how this album wasn't a worldwide number one hit. oh now I remember...most people have no fecking taste!
TEENAGE FANCLUB are one of the best bands ever. Unpretentious to the core, they celebrate harmony in their music and earnest sentiment in their lyrics. 'Start Again' is the first part of a barnstorming opening to their classic album Songs From Northern Britain (followed by Aint that Enough and I Dont Want Control Of You).
I love em, and they are gonna be at the Bowlie Weekender: Part 2 (around ten years in the making!) in December. It's gonna be major, so check it out!
A friend burned me a copy of this album years ago. For whatever reasons I never listened to it. At the beginning of the week, I discovered the disc in my file cabinet at work. I put it and immediately fell for this song. What a great opener! So, as the week meets the weekend, I'm learning more of this album. Great band....
@mistyred8 totally agree, and am gonna see 'em at the 2nd Bowlie Weekender at the end of the year! Be there or be rectangular! TF rules, every album has a different sound.
This is probably the closest the alternative rock or grunge generation has come to making a "Rubber Soul" or "Revolver"-like album. It's really that great.
One of my favourite all time songs...Whenever I hear this song I get a flashback to the time I saw them supporting the Pixies..It was so good to hear it then I nearly cried lol....thx for posting

What an amazing guitar sound. I'm still puzzled that they left it off their greatest hits album.

I never believed in reconciling but still... They captured the feeling perfectly. This thing should be studied in music academies. I LOVE this band.

One of my 5 favorite albums, definately blew the top off everything else in the nineties. A simple message of love, honest delivery.
