ASOIAF is such a great series! ^^ Someone already suggested Sanderson, and I concur - the Mistborn trilogy was great! You could also try Mark Lawrence's Prince of Thorns and Scott Lynch's the Lies of Locke Lamora, they are amazing! Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles (the Name of the Wind and the Wise Man's Fear) are also worth reading.
@BabesinBookland I'm reading Clash of Kings right now and am in love with it! So freakin' good! I am going to have to try out some Brandon Sanderson. I have heard really great things - especially about The Way of Kings. :)
A Song of Ice and Fire is my favorite series. I strongly suggest not doing much internet stuff on in until you get through at least storm of swords for spoilers sake.
I'm assuming Game of THrones is good? Well now I have to add that to my wishlist ^^. And if you haven't read it already, I reccomend The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.
“When King’s Landing fell, Ser Jaime slew your king with a golden sword, and I wondered where you were.”
“Far away,” Ser Gerold said, “or Aerys would yet sit the Iron Throne, and our false brother would burn in seven hells.”
“I came down on Storm’s End to lift the siege,” Ned told them, and the Lords Tyrell and Redwyne dipped their banners, and all their knights bent the knee to pledge us fealty. I was certain you would be among them.”
“Our knees do not bend easily,” said Ser Arthur Dayne.
you would like beach blondes its a really good book and its a sries of like 3 or 4 :)
and i know you didnt like the Pretty Little liars book(the first one) and thats understandable becaue it was really boring. but once you get halfway through the 2nd or 3rd it gets really intense, even if you already knew who A was like me.but the best one is wicked which is like the 5th book :D
@xmissbookobsessed I have some book suggestions for you :) My suggestions are Play Dead (Richard Montanari), Sirenz (Bennardo and Zaman), Deadly Cool (Gemma Halliday), Twilight Graphic novels, In the Shadow of the Lamp (Susanne Dunlap) and Deception (Lee Nichols). Would you consider reading any of those novels?
Love your reviews :) You should read the rest of Melina Marchettas books they are all amazing! And to mention a writer you haven’t already reviewed (to my knowledge) - Tamora Pierce is also a great writer and I think you would like her.
Light On Snow by Anita Shreve is a good boom. It's an adult fiction book, not a YA book but it is still good to read. Check it out if you get the chance.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Shatter Me are really good adventure fantasy type books! I also really liked Other Words for Love and The Statistical Possibility of Love at First Sight which are both contemporary fiction. I would maybe try 80 again because my junior year was the hardest in high school but obviously I don't know what your taking but just a suggestion. Good luck!
I recently bought the A Song of Ice and Fire series boxset but because of the countless of academic books I have to read, I haven't gotten around to reading them yet but am very excited ;) Oh, and you look really pretty in this video!
yay, i'm glad you're going a Q&A video! i love those!
1. do you speak any other languages? (maybe in school?)
2. what type of things do you like to do outside of reading?
3. do you have any pets?
i would recommend the lying game series, i think they're really good. there's the blue is for magic series also. i think we may have different tastes in books haha, i'm more into mysteries than fantasies. : )
@thereadables Thank you, Priscilla! I hope you had a great Christmas too! Yes, I am so excited to read A Clash of Kings now! It's like I am dragging through all the other books until I get my hands on a copy of CoK. :D
Suggestion: Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta. Read it. :D
I've read 87 books this year, but I got most of that read while I was still in 8th grade. Highschool classes are a lot harder, and I'm happy if I get to read 1 book a week! So for 2012 I'll probably just challenge myself to read 40. I love books, but school really is more important.
Also have you read any Libba Bray. Am gonna put up my books of the year video soon and I'm pretty sure her Beauty Queens is going to win my out and out category.
@SableCaught Yes, I read her Gemma Doyle trilogy and really enjoyed it! I even got my mom to read the books and she enjoyed them as well except for the ending of the last book. :D
@xmissbookobsessed Ah don't say anything! Those are on my to read pile! Will get round to them asap, but definitely check out Beauty Queens if you haven't already. Honestly my favourite book of the year.
haha, i got an ipod touch for chirstmas too :D same color and everything lol. Anyways, glad you're back and Im excited to see your game of thrones review! Want to read that book sooooo bad!
1. What is your favorite book/ who is your favorite author?
2. Last Q and A video you said you liked to write, but I was wondering what kind of things do you write? Like fiction, or a diary, or something like that?
Thanks so much I can't wait for your Q and A video!
Instead of book thrifting, couldn't you just go to the library? Lol, but I guess if you wanted to keep the book then book thrifting would be a smart choice. I used to always buy books, but if I always buy them and the books aren't amazing, then I have lots of books that I don't know what do with.
@violintwilightsaga28 Haha yeah I agree. My library just doesn't have that great of a selection. I am excited to see if I can find any good books for cheap though. :)
I think that you should definently do the question and answer video since people have been requesting it alot. Can you do book reccomendations video because I feel that not that many book people have been do them
