@eddiErdnuss They don't do anything. They are just difficult to obtain and therefore a challenge for players to collect.

i beat the game and it wont let me back in the metroid area how do i get back there?

@kablepwns187 Once you beat Mother Brain you can't go back into the Metroid area. If you use the Room of Divine Transportation to warp to the MB area, it actually puts you in the room immediately after the escape sequence.

@Tiduses1 hehehe, you just have to practice the timing a bit. The second jump has to be at the max height of the first jump to make it up there.

@mcdonaldman56 The secrets don't actually do anything. Or at least, they didn't do anything while I was playing the game. I haven't checked the website for a long time to see if it had been updated. It is possible that new features were added by now. However, I expect it to remain as a bonus feature for you to find for bragging rights.

@ZoaX09 They are basically just extra challenges. I haven't checked the IWBTG website for some time, but word on the street was that the secret items were being worked on to give you some reward. As of my playthrough, they had no purpose other than an additional challenge.

I used CamStudio. It didn't record the sound, unfortunately, but it did have a better framerate than any other program I tested.

I have version 2.00 , but odds are good its an old version by now. I am using Windows XP, if that is what you meant.

how do i come to the fourth secret? the place where you fall down is all blacked.

I don't understand what you are asking. The screen before the 4th secret is just before the Mother Brain battle. You have to enter that screen to complete the game. What is all blacked?

you know that fall where you go to beat the mother brain and you have to jump on some invisible blocks? just before the secret. that fall thingy is blacked when you have beaten the mother brain. but i found a way: there is no need in collecting all the secrets on the same game, it is possible to complicate all pieces from different games so no propblems there. hope you understand. :)

Oh, I understand now. Yea, when you defeat Mother Brain the area "explodes" like in Metroid. That is why the area where you fall down to reach Mother Brain is off-limits once you've completed it. The other areas don't explode when you kill the bosses so they remain open.

Also, you are right about the secrets carrying over. They even appear while using different save files.

well, as of my playthrough... absolutely nothing. I haven't checked back in a while to see if it has been updated, but rumor had it a few months ago that the creator was adding stuff in to give them a purpose.

I HATE THE WALL JUMPS it's the hardest jump to do you got to move the left and right it's too complicated i thought it was only hold on to the left or right then jump y' know.

yea, the wall jumps are really hard. Make sure you always hold down the jump button. Then, when you want to jump off, just press the direction away from the wall. For example: you jump onto a wall to your left by holding jump and left. Release the left button, but keep holding jump. Then you need to jump right so you keep holding jump but press right. That will take you off the wall but keep you on the next wall.
