great vid, great display, and great flying too, i really thought the pilot was going to roll her a couple of times! we were lucky to have her take off from our side of airfield, i dont think i have ever been so close to a vulcan take-off! Its a shame this mighty aircraft is constantly struggling to get funding, perhaps if they targetted premiership footballers, they could easily maintain her-£38k a week looks peanuts compared to,oh, shall we say £250k per week for wayne rooney!
@Thunderchief35 thanks, but genius?..never, this idea came from a moment of monkey madness!! i will accept the title of 'King of the silverbacks' tho!
@NewRomanticx Most awe inspiring thing I saw with the Vulcan was a Scramble of 4 (i think it was) of them at Finningley Airshow in the early 80s (don't remember what year it was as was only a nipper then).
@Thunderchief35 well what a coincidence, i was there too! you are right, there were 4 of them, and i think it was 1984?(could be wrong tho-it was a long time ago and dates and times have become fuzzy now!,i will never forget that sound tho)
@Thunderchief35 My dad slept through i think a 9 scramble of phantoms... I dont know how he managed that.. Also if everybody at the airshow donated atleast a pound it would easily get around 200k at waddo. They want to see the vulcan but they dont dig into their pockets!
I managed to be there on Sunday and despite the brilliance of the Red Arrows, (who must have done more for recruitment over the years than any ad or promo), and the Thunderbirds, everyone I spoke to had only one favourite - "our Vulcan"! I urge all of you who watch this excellent video to donate a fiver if you want to keep hearing that haunting sound. A stuffed lion in a museum is impressive - but it's nothing like the "real thing".
@buzzloxley Thanks for the comment buzzloxley. Indeed there were no screaming kids round me yesterday thank goodness. The crowd around me was unsurprisingly awestruck by this excellent display.
nice video , i must say , you did a great job. i have been there , it was amazing, but the sound and video are great, so the people that missed it , can enjoy now
@martynw77 My pleasure. Display seemed a bit more raunchy this year. Very enjoyable. Only problem I had with yesterday was that I forgot to put any suncream on and my face now resembles a tomato with a few white patches on it!!!
saw them scramble at Waddington display - late 1950s I think, they were anti-radiation white then.

@SuperDN70 It was certainly not as good as last year and the static was woeful but had a good day nonetheless.
