Another classic example of a GREAT band that did not get their FULL PROPS because, if you knew the story, it was the STUPID record execs that didn't promote the band fully or properly!!! How much great music, throughout the decades, has been lost to the ether because the "suits" (who don't know SHIT about music) deemed it as NOT economically viable to the music label?

So much energy, so much love, so very amazing. I just love this live version, it harnesses what was DRN in their prime, a very underrated band before their time. Dan is still amazing now and am fortunate enough to have met him a few times. Such a strong spirit held within that man - long may he be around to share the shine he gives out.

Another band that should have "blown up" bigtime. well at least I have the albums to enjoy and though all three albums are great their self- titled debut does not sound dated and every song on there is a winner.

DRN'S debut could be released today and today I think it would go multiplatinum worldwide because people are now accepting of intergrated bands like No Doubt than it was in 1988 when this album debuted.

This is cheesecake compared to how he performs "Ritual" now. Now he performs it with depth and passion with acoustic guitar. Much improved these days.

The dan reed network were pioneers. they crafted hard rock/funk and soul into pop with hooks galore. The musicianship was unparalleled. this is a fuzzy recording so please dont judge it by this. the albums are another story.

Beautifully produced and the song writing was crazy. at the time they were called "bon jovi meets prince".

oasis on the other hand made two brilliant albums. ran out of ideas and have two of the biggest morons fronting them.

Dan Reed Network were excellent, especially their third album. They were just about to go massive and Dan decided to shave his head to prove that his image didn't matter - turned out to be the most expensive haircut in history as it cost him his girlie following and his sales. Terrible shame as they were excellent live and on record.

Nailed it Andy. Dan Reed Newtwork was something very special. That Manchester International gig for the 'slam' tour is regarded as pretty much legendary by everyone I've spoken to who was there. And he's touring solo again now. :o)

Thanks for this video, these guys smoked! Saw them in New Orleans at city park. They rocked ass! Super nice too, got to meet them and get pictures, they couldn't have been Nicer. Dan is Super Nice, Killer talent. Most don't know He plays Guitar better than the Lead Guitarist! God Bless Him. They should re-release Ritual with some Killer chicks dancing with Dan. He could happen Today. He was just too ahead of His time for then I guess.

I like them. Bon Jovi too. Bon Jovi stole the show from many artists at this time, '88. No politics, just out done by the genius that is the Jovi! If you really listen to this tune ... after all they were on the same label..Ploygram...it's expensive to promote an act...Again not BS politics...true and honest politics.

Bon Jovi was a machine, and the money Polygram spent to promote them came back tenfold because they were already established and on their way. When Bon Jovi came through in 1983, it was easier to get a record on the radio and on MTV. They shared the "label stable" with Def Leppard and BMG still got both of them airplay because independent promotion was still fairly uncommon. However, in 1988, no money, no airplay...except in the NW.
