  • How very sad that someone is so negative about Audrey Hepburn. I think she was one the best actresses around and certainly one of the most beautiful . I think Marnie Nixon was also in the Sound of Music.

And as for the comments about 9/11 and the oil spill, how very cruel . I am not glad about either of them. Just think kindly.

  • @RichardElden

I did not intend ti imply that I thought of myself as Irish. But I can agree that too many Americans think themselves Irish when in reality they may not be. Sorry if you were offended by any of my previous comments,

  • LOL that troll has been posting on this video for two years.....wow.....hahaha can you imagine? "Hi honey, how was work?" "Oh it was good, I have to go post my daily 'I hate Audrey Hepburn' comment now!" "Ok, have fun!" Just....wow. Love from drunk righteousgroove

  • Bikel is coming to Toronto on August 21st at Beth Emeth synagogue! It's Ashkenaz Foundation's greatest Yiddish concert of the year. See you there!

  • @theoneandonlySS1995 Marni Nixon sang it. She was the singing voice of Audrey Hepburn in every song except 'Just You Wait' in the released movie. She also was the singing voice of Deborah Kerr in 'The King and I' and Natalie Wood in 'West Side Story'. A fantastic singer she was with a chameleon like voice. She could sound like anybody but better.

  • @RichardElden

I'm waiting to understand why 9/11 & oils spills have any relevance to an actress. But, I respect your opinion. You do not like Audrey Hepburn, and I do.

    Big whoop.

  • @theoneandonlySS1995 Marni Nixon :) She dubbed Hepburn in the film.

  • @Richard, It must be a tough job n for you trying to bring the negative in all... through so many positive comments...Audrey Hepburn was and will remain forever A very Beautiful Classy lady, regardless if she had Cancer, you are such a sad individual...keep your pessamistic negative views to yourself no one wishes to read them.

  • Audrey Hepburn was Exquisite! I wish she was still here.... what a Beautiful Lady inside and out!

  • Dolce&Gabbana have the best designed handbags. (GirlieRewards, INF0)

  • @Hadria5564 have you listened to Britney S. recently? Please don't.

  • The play will always be inferior to the film.

  • @bonChic20 The film was a piece of shit.

  • @JuanMacready have you listened to Britney S. recently?

  • I am from romania and i was yesterday at the opera it was great in bouth langueagues this song , i love it

  • Does anyone have a clip of that scene - just before the intermission break - when Hepburn, stunningly gowned, slowly comes down the stairs to meet waiting Higgins who will take her to the Ball? To me, that entrance is one of the most glorious and touching moments in the film and I would love to see it again.

  • Beautiful video :)

  • @JuanMacready ireland is scum. fguck I'm beginning to hate the fucking irish. what utter classless scum you are.

  • @UpstairsMaid Hardly considering Earl Kitchener and the Duke of Wellington were both Irish.

  • @JuanMacready wonderful people. never met an irish person like them. just the awful scum that post on youtube.

  • om imdb it says that carey mulligan is rumoured to play eliza. i love audrey hepburn, roman holiday is just beautiful.

  • това е религията в любовта и красотата изобщо в живота, който не я разбира е просто тъп глупак.....

  • This is the greatest musical on film... (Street Where You Live is best song...along with I've Grown Accustomed to her Face)

Another of my favourites is Calamity Jane...

  • Keira Knightley has been cast for the remake of My Fair Lady.

  • Oh great...No ofence I love Keira..But nobody can play Eliza like miss Hepburn...

  • @WstdRckRngr Eh? Really? That's a surprise...

  • audrey hepburn- even her name is sooooo glamorous!

  • Audrey Hepburn was lovely in this film, and did a perfect job of portraying the ultimate makeover. While most of her singing in this film was dubbed, she sang "Moon River" beautifully in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" which is more suited to her lower vocal range.

  • Please don't feed the troll and defile Ms. Hepburn's memory further. Its obvious this man has some problems for sure.

  • Someone with common sense. Thank you, aruprc.

  • PeterFirthFan, you are an asshole. How does it feel going through life as a total loser?

  • I think the woman whose voice they used to dub Audrey played one of the nuns in the Sound of Music.

  • ... Julie Andrews ...

  • Nah I'm pretty sure it's not Julie Andrews.

  • @Schmelen No, it is. They didn't like Audrey Hepburn's voice, so they dubbed it for Julie Andrews.

  • Yeah seriously, Julie Andrews has a very distinct voice and that's not it.

  • No, it was dubbed my Marni Nixon, not Julie Andrews. - wikipeida or google it.

  • @mo0otube No, the songs were out of Hepburn's range so they brought in Marni Nixon who had been dubbing the singing voices of lead actresses such as Deborah Kerr in 'The King and I' and Natalie Wood in 'West Side Story' to sing for Audrey. Julie Andrews was not involved in the movie in any way.

  • Schmelen is right, but it was Marni Nixon whose voice replaces Audrey Hepburn's in much of the singing. Ms. Nixon played a nun, Sister Sophia.

  • What the hell is wrong with some of you? She did an great job, and the movie was brilliant. Chill!

  • Alright. Tell me why she did a bad job.

  • I think you, PFF, are crap

    Not a piece

    A whole cartful!

  • cancer-ridden cunt hepburn? and yes, julie in my opinion is better. they just picked audrey cuz she had movie experience. julie didn't.

  • o. that. ok. well, she was talented-ish. she was known for her acting. not singing. she wasnt a good singer. but wasnt mirror crack bad singer either. and she wasnt too old cuz she was only in her 30s.......although julie has done a better job in the singing department. and acting department is about neck and neck. they didn't want to have julie cuz she didnt have any movie experience. they wanted movie experience. i do like julies version better though. this one isn't too too bad. not the best.

  • ok! fine! u win! o....wow! i just realized, she is supposed to be about 20?!?!?!?!?! wow! sorry!

  • Yes, Colonel Pickering guessed her age at "about 21" on the telephone.

Julie Andrews was only 20 when it began on Broadway in March 1956.

  • u shur? i heard that she was a year younger.....19....ill figure it out........actually....my calculator and my hand, said that it was 21.....i dont believe it! i believe she tells you what age she was when she auditioned for MFL. in the movie: Broadway, the american Musical. she tells you her age. i just kinda forget. so i will watch it again! it is:

D1 Give my regards to Broadway

    Syncopated city

D2 I got plenty o' nuttin Oh, what a beautiful mornin D3 Tradition-Putting it together

  • Well maybe you should keep your nasty DISCUSTING diry comments to yourself you ignorant moron!

  • Why?

  • I am little confused as to why you would look up this song on youtube if this is the way you feel! Some of us enjoy this song and the actress so why bash Audrey Hepburn? Does it make you feel good saying these horrible things about a woman who has past away? Why are you calling her whore, do you have knowledge of her being one? And ugly is a matter of opinion! I really think you should rethink your life and why you feel the need to say these things about!

  • @patoalvo Because this CRAP molestation of this song is the work of the Antichrist-------compare it to Julie's and tell me you don't agree

  • Comment removed

  • @semprefedele1 Wrong, Genius. It's NOT Julie, it's Marni Nixon. Obviously if you can’t trust your ears, check out the comments.

  • PeterFirthFan

i'm havin a very amusing time seeing ur comments abt audrey or her movies wherever i go on YT. Dont take him seriously, every1. He's depressed n frustrated. PF Fan.. just calm down ok. now he'll giv me a nice reply.. true to his style.

  • Are you on the imdb?

  • nope!!

  • I think Julie Andrews had the most suitable voice...too bad they didn't choose her, although I get that she wasn't well known at all back then.

  • 『 harikonotora 』?

  • hoey

    hywwp

  • Just saw this movie for the second time in 45 years. Up to the intermission it was a four star movie.

  • I think Marni did a better job of singing it than Audrey did, purely because Audrey didn't have the vocal training. Marni has a much more controlled voice, and some would say more talented. Audrey simply didn't have the training to sing something like this

  • man they wear so much back then, sure hope they didnt get heat cramps of heat exhaustions or whatever comes to mind.

  • it wasn't even her lol.

  • What do you mean?

  • It wasn't Audrey Hepburn singing. It was Marni Nixon.

  • excellent song excellent film

  • who sang it?

  • Audrey Hepburn I believe.

  • it wasnt her, she was lipsyncing, i just dont know who to

  • Ah, I looked it up. She was lipysyncing to Marni Nixon.

  • Uhm no, she was lyp syncing to Julie Andrews, it was before Andrews got famouse for her poppins role, So it was actually her first performing in a movie.

Then she got the Mary Poppins part and the rest is history.

  • Wrong.

Marni Nixon sang for Audrey in the film.

To hear Audrey sing it herself, search for:

I Could Have Danced All Night - Audrey Hepburn 's own voice - My Fair Lady

  • I got all confuzzled here. :) In the original film Marni Nixon did the vocals. In this YT video and several others Julie Andrew's (who apparently did the vocals in a different version of the film) voice over was added.

  • @LadyAbigail90 This is the version as released in the film featuring the stunning talent that is Marni Nixon. Julie Andrews created the role on Broadway before it became a movie.

  • I hope you get cancer!

  • i love these types of songs they make me happy

  • Dear fan of Audrey ,you should have posted some dance scene from the movie not this.

  • Yes, the intro to the song is "bed, bed". you should listen more carefully

  • actually she does

  • Actually if you listen very closely, Hepburn sings the lines in the song's intro.: "Bed, Bed, I couldn't go to bed" and "Sleep, Sleep, I couldn't sleep tonight."

  • ive heard audrey hepburn sing some of the songs... you can hear them on the anniversary dvd under special features, and she doesnt sound that bad... i wouldn't have dubbed the voice.

  • Wasn't it Julie Andrews who dubbed the song?

Anyway, it's for sure one of my favourite musical songs.

  • Marnie Nixon sounds amazing here :)

Thanks for posting - loved it

  • i dont think its nixon; it actually sounds like audrey hepburn!

i know MN dubbed her, but if is her, then she did a great jon in sounding like Hepburn

  • Have you heard the original track with Hepburn singing? There is a reason she was dubbed. This is Marni Nixon.

  • @SMMHELDENTENOR This is Marni Nixon. She truly was fantastic at mimicking the accent and the overall tonality of the voice she was to dub, and then extrapolating what the actress would sound like if she were a good singer.

  • thank u for puttng this up.

  • I love this song! Than you soooo much for posting!
