Do you recommend the 1993 Vox AC-30 amplifier for starters or are there better options to create that KOL sound?

@Unexdaoc I don't know what amp Matthew uses (I'm sure you can easily find out thru Google), and I didnt buy the Vox for the KOL sound, I bought it because The Edge of U2 is my favorite guitarist. I was really looking to get his type sound - but because it's such a good amp, it can get you a great overall tone. As for a starter amp, it's pretty darn expensive, so I'd plan on playing seriously if you're going to drop that kind of jack on one. You could try an AC15 - less expensive & great tone!

@Unexdaoc theres an interview on youtube from guitar world. i believe matt uses reverb rocket. caleb changes from Vox AC 130 to matchless depending on what he's feeling and where he's at.

@bogiebt3 Matt actually uses epiphone sheratons alot. Great guitar, they go for around 600 brand new. This gibson es has pretty much the same pick ups as the les Paul custom I believe so you could squeeze out a couple extra benjamins for one of those. All in all the Sheraton is what you want, I know he(matt followill) used one on the recording of use somebody. Just fyi

@bogiebt3 I use an epiphone dot, which sounds amazing for only ~$400 new. I got lucky and got a used one for $200 bucks, and maybe you can find a sweet deal like that. Another alternative is the Ibanez Artcore series. I've heard good reviews on some of those.
