Saw Gene Pitney in 1998 (Perth, Australia). Always a fan - his searing heart vocals were his trade mark. Died on the job - in dressing room in Ireland. RIP.
@TheGreasyGrass Que gusto me da encontrar tal legión de seguidores de la música y voz de nuestro recordado Gene Pitney!! Bravo para él!, aquí en Perú no tantos se acuerdan de Gene, pero muchos de mi generación sí.
I was a teenager in the swinging sixties and loved Gene Pitney. My cousins used to tease me rotten. I was shocked to learn of his death. May he rest in peace and thanks for the great music he gave us
My fave growing up in the early 60's and to this day! Gene always performed his songs completely...thus what seems a hurried up state to the songs...he never sang just tidbits as he felt his fans deserved complete music.....thats the class he had......and he is missed terribly! He made this fellow Connecticut boy proud indeed!
I miss my friend Gene a lot. Some felt he lost his voice as he got older, I disagreed.. His talent always came through. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father and friend! RIP Gene!
@karenjwmass2000 I watched him live in Cambridge,England,in 2003. He was very witty, and received tumultuous standing ovations. He may have lost some of the power and modulation he had earlier, but that's inevitable. He was a great entertainer.
No one ever recorded 24 Hours From Tulsa like Gene. God bless his music and his memory. Hard to believe he's gone at 65. Looked so fit. Does anyone know where this was taped? Why is so much of this in DOUBLE TIME???? Gary Rue? Hope to meet you yet, Gene. Love,

Nice warm 'warble' in his voice without the twang.

Gene never lost his voice or his looks. What is sad is that I lost my favorite singer of all time and I am 62 years old.
