I played a game on the xbox version the other day that some noob unknowingly switched to smoke rounds and started raging because he wasn't killing people XD

I play PC so I don't know what the controls are for console.

On the console, left and right d-pad switch between item 1 and item 2, so like the mortar and ammo box. How would you switch the rounds on the console? Up and down d-pad?

@FishTurd69 Yes but it must be a direct hit to kill a person, unlike the explosive round, smoke doesnt seem to have any splash damage (or it is not as large as the explosive round).

Okay, the Smoke can kill people, but only with an direct hit.

It does not have AoE Damage, only smoke.

I only learned of being able to switch to smoke about two weeks ago, I had assumed it had to be unlocked like the M320.... and there is no tell tale sign that it can be switched between frag and smoke... Hopefully more people use it for smoke now to help advancing squads & teammates.

Nice tip, I actually picked this one up myself just through use of mortar. I really don't know how some people aren't aware of the smoke being there, its pretty obvious (although the tone of this vid was more encouragement)

you should do a tutorial for the EOD bot for kids who dont know the uses of it. i find it very underused in this game

I've used the smoke/explosive combo in situations which I just joined a match on a team being spawn trapped. You can use the mortars, hopefully, to provide suppression and cover for the rest of your team to push forward. It has worked out several times in for my team in theses instances.

Is there a particular range as to how far i can shoot with the mortar? Any idea the time it takes to impact? Tbh when i use the mortar i was really unimpressed and as soon as i got the required kills to unlock the 1st lmg in b2k, i have never ever looked back to it. Although now that i know how to equip smoke, this can be a real game changer. Knew there was a smoke feature but thought it might be like the m320 in that i have to score a number of kills first...

@krich451 I haven't the slightest clue as to why its HK53 on ps3 and G53 for the other platforms. lol and Dice isn't telling so it will continue to be a mystery, I asked the same question when B2K first released because I also play on ps3 and noticed it was G53 on a pc vid I watched. I think it has something to do with copyright issue on xbox and pc and I guess it's not an issue on ps3. Best answer I can think of.
