They need to just go back to doing the Minneapolis SOund because their new music is not happening..grab them old drum programs out and start that fire
I remember I flipped the "Oh Sheila" record and discovered this song. I put it on cassette tape and wore it out.......................love the beat, love the song..........love Melvin's voice!!!
Remember this was the 80s. I heard this song on the radio (although it wasn't the single) and thought it was Prince. It should have been a single release because it was the shiznit and that guitar solo at the end was rrrruffffffff....
Always the BEST joints that covered up. This song was/is the S%%# . Rhonda Lee Rose and yer Red Truck...If by some small one and a million chance that you see this comment. Girl, this was OUR song....bet you didn't know. :-)
maleimage thats not true i read in blackbeat magazign back in 85 when they went to the concert and they said prince snubbed them. so why would he write them a song? Also i had the first album.(read the credits !!) Prince had nothing to do with them. All Prince proteges albums came out on warner bro. records there was no affiliation at all. rtfw was on mca records. Prince was from minnisota rtfw is from michigan.
@cllamont - LMAO...........just read your comment. Thank you so much.........I can't stand a dumb ass speller either.......LOL!!! Youtube comments are filled with grammatical/spelling errors. An English teacher's nightmare!!
Very underrated song. My dorm mates would only let me blast it when they were drunk and didn't care I was blasting. They just didn't appreciate anything beyond Oh Sheila and Tonight. Dummies!
RFTW went to one of his concerts, and he snubbed them. Prince didn't care for them because he felt they capitalized on his sound, and got a hit. Which I think is a bunch of crap considering they all are from the same part of the country. So of course their sound is similar. So I doubt he'd write any songs for them.
