I so miss Bob Sheppard, and him passing away was pretty much the last of what was left of the old Yankee Stadium. Going to a Yankees game will never be the same without him, and the new stadium, and all. Good thing Jeter has the recording of Bob Sheppard announcing him, since Bob Sheppard's voice will never completely go away, as long as Jeter is on the Yanks. I think Paul Olden pretty much sucks as the new P.A. man, and at least Jim Hall was a good fill in, who should've stayed with the team.
I went to my first game in 1989 when the Yankees played Oakland and I remember when Bob introduced Don Mattingly and it brought chills up my spine I was 6yrs old at the time.... RIP BOB SHEPPARD
what have we done? why did we ever move out of this place? sure we won the world series but the new place will NEVER be home. and nobody can ever replace the great Bob Sheppard
@rickyslades True but at least the Yankees didn't REPLACE Bob Sheppard he simply grew old. Why on earth they ever moved out of the old place I will never know...
What do you mean immediate relative? anyone can claim something online. I do hope you're right though. Maybe he can return for the World Series if we get there.
Tonight, as Paul Olden does the PA Announcing for the Yankees, it marks the first time that Sheppard has missed a world series game since...get this...1951.
@jtelano0715 It's irrelevent. Any name I put out there would become subjective anyway. Just as Bob Sheppard's name is subjective. It's just my opinion.
@thebeastlacey your a nincompoop....he is the best just listen to him speak....im a mets fan and i hate the yankees and i know that bob sheppard was the best
i was right above you on that night... it was sad but it had to happen and now, in 3 days, which is friday, April 3rd, I'M GOING TO THE EXHIBITION GAME IN THE NEW STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To all of us who are Detroit fans and loved Ernie Harwell, I have that much respect for Bob Sheppard. What a great voice!

Bob officially announced (no pun intended) that he is no longer going to be the PA announcer. The end of an era.
