@RonnieDobbz1978 It's just a story about how a Saturday Night changed the lives of four different people. You know what's really sad. Steve, Curt, The Toad, and John were never together again after this. Toad was drafted to Vietnam, John died, Curt probably skipped his draft notice and moved to Canada as a "Conscientous Objector" and Steve stayed in the Same Town he was trying to get away from.
@laminage yeah i know. it reminded me of Dazed and Confused, another movie about nothing, but with better music. This is something my parents would probably like, because they probably remember when things were like this. I am not bitching about this and I am glad to have finally watched it, I was just suprised by the movie that is all.
@RonnieDobbz1978 You know what I felt bad about. Steve chose to stay instead of leaving because he was scared to compete with other College Students. He was a Big Fish in a Little Pond and if he left, he'd be a Guppy in an Ocean. Steve reminds me of a character named Ken Barlow on the UK Soap Coronation St., Everytime he had a chance to leave something always held him back. His Mother's Death, taking care of his Father, his Wife dying etc.
Haha yea kids keep dream in I got a 1978 trans am 4 speed with a supercharger for my first car.well I bought the super charger on my own saveing money is great.
Man I wish I could drive a car like that in High School or College, now days with these insurance rates, you can't even own a four door saturn because it's considered a 'sports car'. FAIL.
The 55 they wrecked was a stunt double. You can see the rims are srpay painted silver instead of chrome and the transmission was an automatic uinstead of a 5 speed.
It's sad to see a 55 get totaled but back in 71 the streets were littered with 55s. In 1975 I bought a 55 chevy for my first car....and yes, because of this movie.
Quit bickerin fellas the Duece Coupe wouldve beat the Chevy!! cause if u payed any attention in the beginning of the movie the Coupe didnt sound anything like a hemi or V8 but later on he went to that garage and souped it up and that sounds like one tuff engine compared to that chevy
those are two bad ass cars but hey, the 57 chevy on King of the Road (tails from the crypt) with brad piitt would mop up both these rides. that car is the meanest, baddest 57 i have ever seen.
nah the 55 would have won..just look at how fast it caught up after the launch. and the two lane black top chevy would have destroyed both of em.. haha
swear Im John Milner. I just graudated from High School back in june this year. I spent my whole summer drag racing ricer boys in their hondas in my 55 plymouth(it likes like shit, but it has a 383). Most of my friends are still in high school and younger. I love rockabilly music, I play guitar and I want to be a pro drag racer.
what a shame that 55 had to flip

The car they wrecked was a junker and they welded in a bar underneath for some reason. The driveshaft is not even hooked up!
