i dunno i dont like the tabs idea, true music comes from what the ear interprets. and if one was to cover a song, playing by ear makes it a little more original.

Yeah. But beginners watching this must learn by tabs before they run with it on their own. So I think they're okay for that. I haven't alwayls played by ear. I used to use tabs. But that's cause I needed them. They're like the training wheels on your first bicycle when you where a kid.

yes it is. Not everyone can hear all the variation the artists play in a song. Especially the bass gets lost in the mix quite often, and to be able to hear all of them, and write them down, that's totally a skill

For that tone you will need a Fleabass, a compressor and an equalizer, I didn't use any amp there. I just boost the bass and treble frequencies a bit (the fleabass has got lots of mids) and put some compression from my EBS Multicomp and an amp simulation with the Line 6 Bass PodXT Live!
