  • I'm impressed however this video doesn't even begin to account for all of the wind you'd have to push through once you exceed 140mph or so....still VERY impressed though.

  • @Tari14 its not a SMG its a 6spd look at the other vids hes talking about not having a beast of a clutch and drives with his left hand when shifting and a few times you can see him put the clutch to the floor unless hes a two foot driver

  • Not sure if someone has asked this yet, but what is needed to get the rpm gauge the flash like it does in this vid? Is it a Euro spec cluster or something?

  • @BiteDoctor Actually I did some research and I believe all M3's came with LED's in the RPM gauge from 4-9k, but only the 2003.5+ 6spd M3's can have the shift lights enabled. It requires a tuner or someone who knows what they are doing to activate them though. Already contacted Active Autowerke and they gave me an estimate. Good thing I have an 04 :). Shift lights came standard only on SMG models.

  • This is on a dyno. There is no wind resistance; 200MPH standing still maybe. Cooling is needed for sure.

  • @CIKO32123 They are rpm warning lights, see the red at the bottom. The rpms shoot so fast the computer is slow to light the yellow areas.

  • @94StrokerZ28 but it looks much more like the engine throttle. when he gives it some throttle, it goes up pretty fast, regardless of the engines revs.

  • @nickdkrobins Thats what happens when you run a car to 800 whp without the 180mph winds that the car is expecting... plus when he let off the water pump stopped flowing accordingly. The temp guage means almost nothing on a dyno.

  • Before I say this, please note that E36 is my second favorite M3, due to thefact that it has the best interior and is fairly cheaper than E46.

    IMO the best M3 is E30, because it's the only one that looks the part. E36 compared to it is like a smart, but really shy daughter of the supermodel.

  • Well yes it's expensive but for stage 1 kit it's not that expensive especially since HPF provides 3 year warranty on every kit and they will replace anything for free and if you cant send the car to them they will ship the part for free, I'd say that's a pretty good reliable customer service on their part. I WISH THEY MADE TURBO FOR E36 M3 DAMN.

  • @pimparuchi agreed @ e36 bit, but I thing generally, IMO best option for the e36 is the active autowerke supercharger kits. They make fairly good power for relatively cheap, and great driveability.

  • yes. i know i agree. i love HPF , and i have an M3. But i agree that they cost too much... i think they will drop the price soon, they are still new, and promote the unique fit to the e46 m3. But the price of the cheapest is like 13.5k. Should be 8-10K.

    1- quarter mile time.

    2-0-top speed

    3-a rece with another car

    4-Track time.

    That is BAD MAAN!!!

    No performance proof what so ever!!

    When HPF comes with real proof ,quarter mile test and REAL Races I will belive It and say wow.

If you still search you will find A stage 3 in the desert smashing on a Z06, Smashing on a fully tuned Ford GT. For a stage 4 its 30k btw. And you can get up to 1200hp.. And if you do the 3.4L stroker kit first you can get another 150hp 1200-1500.. .HPF is amazing with BMW.

  • If you can't afford it then don't bother complaining. HPF makes the best turbo kit,only turbo kit worth buying, for the E46 chassis M3 and that is why they are able to charge whatever they want. Development isn't cheap.

  • For everybody saying the temperature is running up fast, well, that is the SAME reason the SPEEDOMETER is running up fast, there is no wind blowing against the car!!! The speedometer climbs from 100-180 in 6 seconds, there is NO WAY this car would do that on the ground for real, not even close. A Geo Metro could spin that drum on the Dyno at 200 mph given the right gears because the little 3 cyclinder engine doesnt actually have to push the car through 200 mph winds.

  • i dont know that much about cars cause im only 15 but im trying to learn so one day i can get an m3 and soup it up, so is it an air release valve that makes that hiss like sound when changing gears? or is that just the turbo?

  • @MonkeysOnRiot The gear change is not the cause. It's a turbo car- a turbo is forced induction (compressed air) so it has a blowoff valve which allows the compressed air to vent to atmosphere, this happens when the gas pedal is released, which is why it seems to be making the noise between gear changes.

  • based on that dyno run, with real world conditions, it'd probably be good for around 190 mph, gps verified, since speedos aren't very accurate once you start changing rim diameters

  • The reason the engine was so hot is that its on a dyno. There is not a lot of air flow through the radiator when the car ain't moving and there is only a fan. :P

  • I had the same problem, it's cause there is no cooling wind while driving.

    The raising of temperature will be favorite by the fact,

    that the cooling system probably isn't filled with enough water,

    which could happens by diffusion of steam after a certain time !!!

  • ive seen videos with the stage 2.5 doing pulls from 60-130 mph on the freeway in around 6-6.5 secs. that is extremely fast considering most cars dont do 0-60 in under 7 secs and this car with this kit can hit a 70mph jump in speed in that short amount of time. impressive all the same even though the dyno doesnt show realistic acceleration because of no friction from wind or road.

  • Has enyone notice that HPF dos not have eny REAL test that you can see clearly whats hapening. for ex a test with stage 4 from 0-300 ore the maximum speed. Instead they have just some short pulls exept this dyno pull that never can compare whith the real road speed. I think HPF is a fiasko that fouls bmw lovers on a hell of money. Stage 4. 30mph-170mph in 20 sec. That is NOT fast for paying 44500 usd.. Fucking insane. Those who agree please like this coment,,, peace

I knpw what you mean but i just think that the hpf cars arent really that fast as they should be according to the power clamed they have. And the price is absolutely to much for those horsepowers. But what can you do, i guess there is a lot of inexperienced people paying them. With the half of the money I would build such a bmw

You mean 60-130 mph, a widely accepted benchmark for performance vehicles, in which a stage 2.5 on race fuel and meth is capable of posting a vbox verified time of 5.610 seconds. Mere tenths of a second slower than that of Bugatti Veyron given the same parameters. TRUTH.
