  • Crochet all the way!!! Though I have to say I am learning to knit and while it looks great it takes FOREVER! First project I did crocheting was a scarf anyway (I agree - not a fan of granny squares really). crochet is more versatile ;)

  • @AbstractOddity and I also think it's a funny argument that knitting with more needles is better xD we can crochet in the round without the use of a bunch of floating double pointed...things

  • Hahahah this was so funny!

  • Humorous from beginning to end, loved it!

  • lol, love this, so waiting for guffman

  • who takes the wifes last name?

  • @TheCookiemonsterking Lesbians. And people who hate their birth family. Just sayin'.

  • fragging hilarious! ( from a knitter/crocheter)

  • fragging hilarious!

  • This is quite funny...but...um...her discloth? It's knitted!!

  • I knit and crochet and i say i like knitting better but crochet is good for doing lacy stuff.

  • Haha! Love it so funny!

  • I knit, but my mother crochets. We are FREAKS OF NATURE! *cough cough*

I laughed at the vid, but apparently there are people who don't get this is a humor video? Riiiight. Slightly weird.

  • i crochet i can't knit i have a ex mother in law that use to pick on me to. why knit when you can do more with one needle then two i have made sweaters. skarfes with granny squarer and they are beautifully done. i found this to be a dumb thing for some one to say about my craft.

  • you know when she says, "knitters are are... are hard" and it shows a clip of that woman knitting? well the woman knitting looks just like her, even has the same glasses, hair and cloths. But still loved it!!!

  • HAHAHAHA I laughed so hard!!! she... she... actually hasn't talked to me since that day actually. hahaha !!!! loved it!!!! (so true too.) just kidding! hahaha. thank you for bringing me this laughter nerdcity!!!

  • OH man!!! freaken' funny!!!!!! all alone and laughing...by the way i do both

  • I actualy did not catch on untill the girl said her mother found her crochett. Whitty and unusual humor.

  • HAHAHA...<3's it....So much like a yarn shop I once walked into! omg...and the look on her face when I started laughing at her comments....

  • Still as funny as ever.... sent it on to to other knitters.... who loved it. Get the subtext, folks?

  • THATS AWESOME! Thanks for the Laughs!

  • awesome. Good job!

  • Very tongue in cheek - hysterical! But no mention that "hookers" use Red Heart yarn.

  • Crocheters buy more yarn; use more product. Stores should be grateful for the sales. Instead, people must deal with idiots with two needles. @.@ Talk about Neanderthal!

  • @freya1924: LOLOL! +1 very clever and _very_ funny. Thanks for the good laugh. :)

  • " I do it in my room or sometimes in my closet and hide them under my mattress...(sniffle)" hehehe!

  • LOL there are sweaters and slippers you can crochet!

  • Boo to the nasty knitters!

  • Uh, it's a joke, get it?

  • @esirotta ok, I could understand all the mean comments about crocheting vs. knitting but if you make a comment saying that both suck... you are saying that a craft that has earned people a living, industrialized the clothing world (without knitting we wouldn't have t-shirts, socks, or underwear ect. [pants are woven]) and has provided entertainment to people for thousands of years was just a waste of time? I don't think so

  • I never get tired of watching this. I just love the way it's done.

  • The dishcloths that she has are knitted not crocheted, just throwing that out there. More needles are cumbersome. Crocheters are more efficient. tee hee. :)

  • It is nice to find someone documenting the eternal struggle between knitters and crocheters. Loved every second of it!

I'm posting this to all my Ravelry groups!

  • Bah! Humbug even! Nothing beats embroidery for a fabric-related art.

  • I guess I'm bi-stitchual, since I both crochet and knit.

  • sorry about the tempreture earlier?

    that was hilarious!

  • omg... i love this! great job!

  • This was very well done by a bunch Knit-Witz.......hahahahaha nice work

  • How funny

How funny...I'm a crocheter ya baby!!!!

  • this is HILARIOUS.

I knit and my aunt and a good friend crochet and we give each other crap about it all the time :)

  • Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well-done, this is a great video.

  • 5 stars. HILARIOUS! My great aunt loved to crochet, and I'm sure if she were alive today she would have laughed her buns off, as well!

  • HAHAHA, I am head of a craft group at my college and we have this exact running joke. Good Stuff!

  • Ah, look. It's subtle, not really about crocheting and knitting, you see, but something else entirely....

  • This video is so awesome. Saw it ages ago but just have to leave a comment and say... AWESOME!!!

  • Ha ha ha. This is fantabulous! So well done! Such fun!

  • Absolutely freaking brilliant.

  • I learned crochet first because it was easier than knitting since you have only one hook to hold, but since I learned knitting the possibilities are endless. It's best to know both! I wish the two worlds would join. You are the most advanced (I feel) if you know both like Lily Chin. The video was fun to watch, great acting! Why did you try to fool us with the dish cloth? You should have known we could tell. I hope there will be a part 2! Great job!

    Angellynnn

  • haha in all sincerity, there wasnt much thougbht put into the dishcloth. it was an accident, we were running short on time and it was the only thing we could get. as far as a part 2, i would love to make some more mockumentaries, and im hoping to do so in the near future. thanks a lot for the kind words.

  • Crochet doesnt have to be granny squares or dishcloths, you can make some wonderful things that really put anything knitted to shame, only reason tshirts and so on are knitted is knitting can be easily done by machine.

  • again... it's fiction. it's a mockumentary.

  • hahaha. this video is a joke. it's just a stupid joke. this is suppose to be light hearted. it's not trying to make any statements. don't take life so seriously.

  • It doesn't matter if the person knits or crochets. It's not about who's better whoever. So, what if the person knits or crochets of both.

  • it's a joke.

  • oh okay lol.

  • and his scarf -- examine his scarf, just what stitch is it?

It is a lovely story about the black sheep in all of us AND our hypocrisy, coz like we are human rather than perfect

    another black sheep

  • what is with the knit dish cloth attempting to pass as crochet?

  • Um, that's a knitted dishcloth. I make those all the time (I don't crochet). But it's still funny.

  • I used to knit until I was no longer challenged. I decided to move my skills up a notch and learned to crochet :-)

  • thanks a lot! everyones comments are greatly appretiated!

  • That was soooo funny!!!!

  • that was AWESOME!!

  • Fantastic!!! :D

    Loved it!

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • terrificly creative.... the undercurrent, the subtext is quite wonderful....

  • Hilarious and very creative. :-D

  • So, i think another one should be made!! I love it! <3

  • OKay I have to agree that the dishcloth does look knitted to me, but I suppose of you worked in the back loops only you could get that kind of drape, even with a worsted. I'll have to try it. But OMG this video is hilarious!!! I am going to send my yarnworker friends from both camps to see it.

  • I wish I had a copy of this to show in the yarn shop where I work--it's too close to the truth, not to mention hilarious! But I also think it's pretty funny that folks are arguing in the comments about whether or not the dishcloth is knitted.

  • The dishcloth looks like it could be crochet in fingering weight to me. That wouldn't be too tedious.

(Maybe the dishcloth is a subliminal message to us knitting snobs.)

  • HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA! riot!

  • stupid comment. It is not about knitting vs crocheting. Get it?!

  • Who gives a rat's ass if the discloth is knitted or crocheted? This is a funny video!

  • mockumentary...in the little tags.

  • BAH HAH HAH HAH! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! I think humor is the funniest when you can pinpoint that special segment of the population and make people say,"Hey! I know someone just like that!" Thanks for making my afternoon. :)

  • Absolutely love this video! The dishcloth is knitted.

  • Great job!

  • My wife taught me how to crochet and I'm really into it. The guys at work never let up when they learned that I crochet, and now I gotta deal with this! This is too funny!!!!

  • How did your wife convince you to learn to crochet? I have been trying to teach my hubby for a year now and he refuses to learn.

  • She is as enthusiastic about her knitting as I am about my woodworking hobby and it just rubbed off on me. It also helps if you have the perfect husband :)

  • OMG!!! Awesome job! You guys are great!!!!

  • "A Group of Sudents"? Students maybe? And the dishcloth in her lap is completely knitted. The ones shown were crocheted, but the one she holds is knitted. I've made a bunch just like it. The only way to get a crocheted dishcloth that thin with that much drape to it is to use a very fine hook and fine crochet cotton like you'd use for doilies- not something many would have the time or patience to do for a dishcloth. Most dishcloths are crocheted with worsted weight cotton.

  • Looks just like the dishcloths I've crocheted

  • This is oh-so hilarious! Funnnnnnny!

  • That dishcloth is NOT crocheted!!! Believe me

  • she says it's crochet in the video!

  • Being a crocheter, I can totally understand this video and I think it's funny, but that dishcloth is definitely not crochet!

  • Being a snobby knitter I love this video. BUT Heather Doe is trying to tell us the knitted wash cloth she is holding is crochet!!! Hmmmmmmmmm
