Crochet all the way!!! Though I have to say I am learning to knit and while it looks great it takes FOREVER! First project I did crocheting was a scarf anyway (I agree - not a fan of granny squares really). crochet is more versatile ;)
@AbstractOddity and I also think it's a funny argument that knitting with more needles is better xD we can crochet in the round without the use of a bunch of floating double pointed...things
i crochet i can't knit i have a ex mother in law that use to pick on me to. why knit when you can do more with one needle then two i have made sweaters. skarfes with granny squarer and they are beautifully done. i found this to be a dumb thing for some one to say about my craft.
you know when she says, "knitters are are... are hard" and it shows a clip of that woman knitting? well the woman knitting looks just like her, even has the same glasses, hair and cloths. But still loved it!!!
HAHAHAHA I laughed so hard!!! she... she... actually hasn't talked to me since that day actually. hahaha !!!! loved it!!!! (so true too.) just kidding! hahaha. thank you for bringing me this laughter nerdcity!!!
Crocheters buy more yarn; use more product. Stores should be grateful for the sales. Instead, people must deal with idiots with two needles. @.@ Talk about Neanderthal!
@esirotta ok, I could understand all the mean comments about crocheting vs. knitting but if you make a comment saying that both suck... you are saying that a craft that has earned people a living, industrialized the clothing world (without knitting we wouldn't have t-shirts, socks, or underwear ect. [pants are woven]) and has provided entertainment to people for thousands of years was just a waste of time? I don't think so
The dishcloths that she has are knitted not crocheted, just throwing that out there. More needles are cumbersome. Crocheters are more efficient. tee hee. :)
I learned crochet first because it was easier than knitting since you have only one hook to hold, but since I learned knitting the possibilities are endless. It's best to know both! I wish the two worlds would join. You are the most advanced (I feel) if you know both like Lily Chin. The video was fun to watch, great acting! Why did you try to fool us with the dish cloth? You should have known we could tell. I hope there will be a part 2! Great job!
haha in all sincerity, there wasnt much thougbht put into the dishcloth. it was an accident, we were running short on time and it was the only thing we could get. as far as a part 2, i would love to make some more mockumentaries, and im hoping to do so in the near future. thanks a lot for the kind words.
Crochet doesnt have to be granny squares or dishcloths, you can make some wonderful things that really put anything knitted to shame, only reason tshirts and so on are knitted is knitting can be easily done by machine.

This whole episode is STUPID!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone has a talent, deal with it.....who cares what someone does, if it is crocheting or knitting. It is all pretty, so just shut up and do something....I do both but prefer crocheting, results are seen faster.....
hahaha. this video is a joke. it's just a stupid joke. this is suppose to be light hearted. it's not trying to make any statements. don't take life so seriously.
OKay I have to agree that the dishcloth does look knitted to me, but I suppose of you worked in the back loops only you could get that kind of drape, even with a worsted. I'll have to try it. But OMG this video is hilarious!!! I am going to send my yarnworker friends from both camps to see it.
I wish I had a copy of this to show in the yarn shop where I work--it's too close to the truth, not to mention hilarious! But I also think it's pretty funny that folks are arguing in the comments about whether or not the dishcloth is knitted.
BAH HAH HAH HAH! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! I think humor is the funniest when you can pinpoint that special segment of the population and make people say,"Hey! I know someone just like that!" Thanks for making my afternoon. :)
My wife taught me how to crochet and I'm really into it. The guys at work never let up when they learned that I crochet, and now I gotta deal with this! This is too funny!!!!
She is as enthusiastic about her knitting as I am about my woodworking hobby and it just rubbed off on me. It also helps if you have the perfect husband :)
"A Group of Sudents"? Students maybe? And the dishcloth in her lap is completely knitted. The ones shown were crocheted, but the one she holds is knitted. I've made a bunch just like it. The only way to get a crocheted dishcloth that thin with that much drape to it is to use a very fine hook and fine crochet cotton like you'd use for doilies- not something many would have the time or patience to do for a dishcloth. Most dishcloths are crocheted with worsted weight cotton.
