I have the same set up...I have a 2010 special edition the black n red bike with silver decals. The exhaust really make the sound bigger then a 250 love my bike.
It's basically a KX250F with fairings. I personally would rather have a supermoto if I were going with a 250 but to each his own. Here in Japan it's hard to use a 600 or larger to the fullest unless you're at a track. You can break every speed limit in first gear alone so bigger isn't always better. I'd be willing to say that bike would be fun in the twisties here with it's flickability. I find my SV650 is the perfect balance for my riding style and the roads here in northern Japan.
@SuRSamuRai Personally I wouldn't invest that much money into a first bike that you will only have for a year or two. The exhaust system does sound nice but has a very little power increase. I own a 09 Ninja 250 and don't plan on adding anything to it. Its his bike he can do what he wants with it but $700 seems a bit much for a bike that you plan on owning for a short time.

@gilroy2k8 yes you can restrict it. It must be restricted to like 14.6 HP though. Check with the DSA or whoever it is to be 100% sure. All you have to do is take it to a motorbike dealer or local garage and ask them to restrict it to the CBT standard.
Ignore the haters, I've had just as much fun on my Ninja250 as my cbr600rr. The 250 is cheaper, the insurance is virtually nothing, mpg is great, its comfortable, can use it for commuting. Sure it is slow off the mark in comparison, but you still fly thru traffic and get rev it up and go thru the gears properly without doing 130mph ! You may get smoked at the lights by a fast bike, or creamed on the track, but for everyday road use it is hard to beat a nimble 250.THEY ARE PURE FUN

i have this problem , my ninja250r , when anyone is seated on my rear seat due to the weight of the person . the rear brake lever just simply goes down when i try to brake with out applying any brakes, so its dangerous for me to drive in traffic .anyone having the same problem ?????? i tried to do the monoshock setting by making it to the last level but now if some one weighin 80kg again the brakes dont work... my bike is just a yr old and this :-(

@ctotoymoe2 i ride a 230L when i can because its fun and i save a ton of gas. I have ridden with both a fz6 and gsxr 1000 that has been dialed in for the rider. I was able to out corner both at low speed, tight, narrow roads, and my lil 230 makes a whooping 21 hp, and gets 80+ mpg. Completely agree with your point. performance isn't everything, but that's why i have a mx bike lol.

Nice bike, I had my Suzuki SV650 for way too long before I put exhaust on it (1year). It is a must have on any bike. I have seen people on liter bikes get lapped at the track by people on 250s. Not everyone cares about straight line speed, any dope can sit there, crack the throttle wide open and go fast in a straight line, it takes no actual riding skills.
He didn't just buy this exhaust to look more badass or for bragging rights, I purchased a kawa 250r and trust me after hearing what it sounds, buyin a Yoshimura muffler is the way to go!

Nice bike, I had my Suzuki SV650 for way too long before I put exhaust on it (1year). It is a must have on any bike. I have seen people on liter bikes get lapped at the track by people on 250s. Not everyone cares about straight line speed, any dope can sit there, crack the throttle wide open and go fast in a straight line, it takes no actual riding skills.

I don't get why people buy 250's and modify them to be faster.. just get a 600cc or 1000cc for that matter and save the 250 to learn to ride, if this is the reason for buying a 250!!

@jpeel132 i'd recommend you get a very common, but used bike. everyone that's ever owned a bike has dropped it, you'll be no exception, and that way, parts will be easier to find, along with you being less upset about dropping it in the first place since it's not a spotless shiny new bike.
