1. I love this comic and I'm disappointed they seem to be stopped. You probably have a good reason for it but I'm just saying i'd like to see them carried on.
2. You just totally showed me how I should draw in photoshop :)
wow man. the comics have had me laughing my ass off for the past month or so whenever i get time. I only just discovered them recently and so i am catching up on the archives. very funny. it's really cool to see the process too, to see some of the tricks, although i must admit to my ignorance of image editing so a lot of it goes over my head. for example why you are flipping horizontally...
and I just realised that the lack of traditional bubbles (rather, squares with typed text instead of handwritten) somehow lends to the honesty of this comic. your use of subtlety in randomness (no MONKEY SPOON LOL levels of degradation) also helps.
[jesus I just realised that I'm wankily analysing a webcomic on a youtube video. must reassess priorities.]
Wait...If that's how long it take to make a comic why don't you update more? Also what is this "time lapse" of which you speak? Did they go back in time?
Daisy Owl is such an adorable and simple looking webcomic (not that I'm insulting you, mind you) that I'm amazed at how much time and effort is put into making it! It's admirable.
I have a soft spot for timelapses and montages. They make you think: "I could do that!" until you try the thing and you realise it is difficult to draw and you will never be able to box like Rocky.
It's a trick a lot of artists including myself use. When you're working on something for hours, you get used to the way it looks. If you flip the image, it's something different from what you're used to seeing and it helps you spot flaws.
I didn't notice it when I just read the comic, but look at the door.. You can see space through its window in the second panel, even where there should be door frame!
Although maybe it's just a dark-tinted window, as the first frame may imply. You need lots of tinting when you're building in space.
I must say I've always been impressed by how well you convey emotion and personality (especially Steve's fear) just through a few subtle changes and this video made me appreciate it all the more. Please keep up the great work!
Holy... That's amazing, Driscoll. I'm never complaining about how there isn't a concise update schedule again. You put so much love and thought into each comic... it's beautiful. And you can make music! You should put up some download links. I'd pay money for these tunes, if you want! XD
That was easily one of the most interesting things I've watched in a long time. Great composition on the tunes as well; they remind me a little of Collapse Under The Empire or 65daysofstatic. Something else too, but I can't think of it right now.
I miss Daisy Owl. Are you going to start updating again?
Please?

Ah, think it says ":( hand", heh.

I love how your artwork looks beautifully simplistic, but it takes a lot of effort to look that way.
As good as your comics are, I still have to ask: How can people eat in a diner without an airlock? Sometimes I think you are just being silly

Really fantastic!
What program did you use to make the time lapse?

Mirroring helps find mistakes you don't usually see when un-flipped.
@Driscoll
Love you, keep it up. (:
I'm amazed at how long it takes, man.
~Two hours, if my calculations are right.

I am disappointed by the loss of BRISTLE, because it is so clearly the sound a broom would make when wielded in such a threatening manner.
Otto4242 1 year ago 24
I take it back. I just realized that the diner is airless. Therefore the threatening broom can make no noise.

Only 5 and a half minutes to make a strip! That's pretty fast!
Also what is the name of the font you use at the end? It would be great on my webpage.
eloquentdiamond 1 year ago
The font used was Comic Sans MS. Probably the most basic font in the world. :P Also my favourite from age 8-12.
NortonFord 1 year ago
@eloquentdiamond It's at 24x speed, so it's over 2 hours to draw this.
I think the font is called "Comic Sans MS"
