Freestyle and Greco refs seem much more lenient than collegiate on letting people mix it up. Last year at freestyle state, I was up by 1 pt in the 3rd period and my opponent hit me in the face 3 times with a closed fist--the ref gave me stalling call for stopping. The other guy won.
