@twistedwest1 Actually Sikhs can eat meat. Sikhism does not prohibit eating meat. There is mention in scripture which prohibits consumption of meat which has been sacrificed. Most likely the influences of mainstream Indian culture and the "universality" encouraged in gurdwara langar halls have lead to most religious Sikhs to not eat meat.

I ended up calling the WSO (World Sikh Organization) in Ottawa and asked right over the phone. According to them Halal and/or sacrificed is not allowed.
