  • why didn't you just walk to the horses?

  • This made me worry the entire way through! You had the lead rope all around your legs on the first horse which is so dangerous Bringing food into the field and allowing the horses to compete for it will always result in this. You were lucky....

  • why are you trying to catch them with food? its just teaching them bad manners

  • Comment removed

  • Catching a horse with food is ridiculous...

  • @EricaAmazing1 no its not , i do. it works. if yuor pony is hard to catch , to bring him over with food works.

    byee xx <3

  • i thought they bothh looikked piebald (back and white

  • @laragrove75

sorry i was typing really fast!

  • never lure a horse with food...

  • @hyperfocus2011 Why?

  • Gypsy cobs?? so beautiful!!!!

  • Oh my god, she did really well if that had been me i would be running for my dear life!!! Lol :) Well done

  • @16jazzgura haha

  • Why are people so judgemental, leave the poor girl alone.

  • dont u know how to put the freakin LEADROPE around the horses neck so u already have dem caught duhhhh

  • The first thing you should do is to just put the leadrope around the horse's neck so he knows he's already been 'caught'.... He won't try any funny business that way... They are gorgeous!!

  • Hahaa, Hunny I know Ehere Your Coming from, 4 of my horses needs a little Treat to be catchable Othere Wise I will just spend 3 hourse Chasing Thm Round a firls Trying to Get E'm! ;)

Haa that was a Closee one Too! :L <3

  • Hahaa, Hunny I know Ehere Your Coming from, 4 of my horses needs a little Treat to be catchable Othere Wise I will just spend 3 hourse Chasing Thm Round a firls Trying to Get E'm! ;)

Haa Closee on Too! :L <3

  • The best way to handle that is to put the lead around the horse's neck ASAP and then do the halter - she could have caught the horse the first time if she'd done that.

  • I saw on a movie and i have talked with a proffesional trainer and NEVER give ur horse grain in the pasture because that is like bribing

  • Might have been a better idea to have the camera-person take the other horse, rather than trying to catch two at once when there was a bucket of grain to fight over...

  • Did you manage to catch the horse? :)

  • Ha Ha have to point out you are definately a horse rider Nancy...tanned arms and face and white legs! he he I am the same as I always have jodphurs on!

  • I love reading people's expert opinions on here about horse handling and ownership! Makes me laugh! Fact of the matter is, every horse is different and in fact can act out of character on any day so it doesn't mean that just because this horse happened to kick out on this particular occasion, that this lady doesn't know how to handle horses! You are only getting part of the story with this vid. Great horses btw kendollyXC and nancydrewscoobydoo!

  • That was disrespectful of him! Good thing you weren't hurt!

  • Maybe try putting the leadrope behind your back and weating a hat! Alsso if you but the leadrope over is neck first so it thinks its been caught x

  • eek

  • Bertiee <3

  • beautiful gypsy vanners =D

  • have you ever tried doing some ground work and relationship training? ive had afew horses that are hard to catch. after some fun games and excersizes i can open the gate n when they hear it they whinney and come running :) of course we have our more difficult days but who doesnt! the time spent really pays off, not jsut with catching th horse but with trust and under saddle too. if i ever fall off they dnt run they stop immediately. its pretty cool ! and much safer

  • @echo3rhythm they were both new to the yard and she isnt their owner just staff there so its not really aplicable :/

  • @ThePiebaldPony even more reason for STAFF OF A HORSE RANCH to be doing things properly. Obviously they need more experienced staff. whats the difference between staff and clients? staff should be teaching clients and have more knowledge.

  • @echo3rhythm I bet you've never done anything wrong ever in your life.

  • @luce4igb ive done many things wrong. i never said anything close to that. my point is that staff should have basic ground working knowledge. its pretty basic stuff. if they were just beginners fine w/e but staff should be able to properly manage a horse on the ground atleast. would you hire someone on your ranch that didnt have basic horse knowledge?

  • @echo3rhythm In all the liveries I've worked in, clients take offence to being offered advice. Some don't even talk to staff, even though we spend more time with their horse than they do. We turn out/bring in, feed, muck out, they ride.

  • @MissHeatherAnn1 i have worked at many barns aswell. but if a horse comes at me i dont care whos horse it is i dont let myself or the horse get injured (well within my power) if that means a quick tune up on the way out to the pasture, so be it. i dont care whos horse it is if they want to board it and have people handling it and taking care of it for them then it better have manners.

  • @echo3rhythm Yes obviously if you are in danger, you will correct the horse. But training someone else's horse is a big no no. Yes you may have basic horse knowledge at least. But that doesn't mean that you can train someone else's horse.

  • @MissHeatherAnn1 yes understand that, worked on and owned ranches and barns my whole life as well as shown and competed. and i have far more than just basic knowledge. not saying train im saying respond accordingly. and the training advice i posted above was for the owner of the horse. (the relationship training part)people who board their horses places are aware staff could be handling their horses to turn them out to pasture being held for farrier etc. a little ground control may be neccessary

  • @echo3rhythm im not saying train the horse im saying manage it aslong as you have to to get the job done and stay safe. if youre the person doing the catching or turn outs and you have one horse that pushes you around all the time or kicks at you (may not be applicable in this video this is just an example)

  • @echo3rhythm @echo3rhythm if you dont tune him up on the wa in/out of the barn it could become pretty bad. i mean horses naturally kick n bite n challenge for pecking order in a pasture so obviously theres hazards that go along with being in the pasture. i was just offering some advice and knowledge aswell as commenting and stating my opinion. which is what youtube is for.

  • @echo3rhythm you can find loopholes and flaws in many things ive said cuz every horse is different and i dont use cookie cutter training methods. i just politely made a comment trying to help prevent someone from gettin hurt. just makin conversation.

  • @luce4igb i was never tryin to be rude im stating facts

  • @echo3rhythm that was the first and last time anything like that happened when catching in these horses

  • Whenever catching with a lead rope (I have a tendency of just letting my pony follow e :P) I always put the rope over the neck first so that I have control...

  • those to horses make me laugh haha there really pretty horses try catching the spazzy one first might work better haha

  • love your horses soooooo pretty!

  • Really Pretty horses! :D but dang ur brave to be near horses that get that spazzy!

  • Very cute horses!

  • I love the other horse hes like (slow motion) ohhh shiiitt

  • OMG that was so close

  • Maybe you should try working with these horses instead of shoving food in their face?

  • Does it say on the write up..... Help I don't know how to catch the horse ? ..... Umm no !! The horse was caught I'm sure so why do so many of you feel the need to go on and on about how and how not to catch a horse !!! And how many of you actually can do it rather than just talk about doing it .... Probably none cos your all retards !

  • :O Lucky he/she didn't get her! What you could have done was lead the other horse up to the gate, see if the other would follow, then just tie a leadrope or something round him until he lets you put the headcoller on. Hope hes better now (:

  • mm no read wat i said im blood shot in my eye so i cant seee well u cocky girl

  • i dont think the horse liked ur white legs in those shorts! LOL :)

  • That is MATRIX :):):)

  • no i think it is bertie and henry

    sorry if i am wrong

  • hahahahaha good video :) I like :)

  • Omg i wish all of you wud just give it a rest! the girls handled the horse perfectly! of course horses which have been put in a whole new environment are goin to react in different ways & unfortunately the scewbald didnt settle as well as the piebald! wen the horse kicked out, the girls didnt bloody go round screamin their heads off but they stayed calm & didnt make a fuss which is wat this horse obviously needs if he's s nervous

  • there both pibalds (black and white) skewbald = brown and white

  • u just addmitted that u jumped a pibald horse so thnks 4 admitting it

    haha fuck u!!! :) !!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • wtf u on

  • I'm not an idiot, I've been working and taking exams with horses for long enough to know what i'm doing so i'd appreciate no more twats telling me how to catch a horse in from the field.

  • And for your info, i didn't leave the leadrope dangling on the floor, if you notice when Kendall says, "Oh, he is spazzy" skewbald pony jumps away because i flicked the leadrope over the piebalds neck. When The piebaldjumped away to avoid the other when he kicked out, it then fell down. Oh, not to mention that those leadropes aren't long enough to "get in a fangle" and they're DESIGNED TO BREAK WHEN PUT UNDER PRESSURE OF ANY KIND.

  • Okay, to all you idiots that think i'm an idiot. Those two horses had been at the yard for about a week, the first piebald is really easy and sweet, he was not the problem. The skewbald horse was very nervy and didn't like people wearing hats as he associated that with work. He wouldn't come in for tit bits from my pocket, he'd only come in for feed.

  • did she catch him/her in the end??

  • that was close!

  • she handled the nervous cob lovely cos she stayed calm & gentle but i wouldnt leave the other one with the leadrope dangling on the ground .. he'd only been there a few days & if he'd spooked or even just trotted away he could have got himself in a right fangle x

  • 1 little tip uh..next time put the feed down 1st and hide the headcollar behind u..and put it on when he starts to eat and let him finish

  • gorgeous horses XD im guessing gypsies... but i could be wrong =P i love the one that kicked.. it's amazing.. lmao

  • Comment removed

  • gorgeous ponys!!

  • thats a very fat & cow like horse :o

I bet that horse dont jump...

  • Have feed in your pocket, not a bucket. Horses will see an easy way out, they shopuld only be rewarded food once they've done something good or they'll play a game with you.. and most likely win :) Put the lead rope round their necks when their neck is in the bucket, and stand infront of thgem :P Other then that.. pretty ponies:D

  • did she ever catch the horse lol =) =P =D

  • my only tip would be to try and put the leadrope around the horses neck then put on the halter...good job not getting kicked!!!!

  • he kicked cause bertie tried to bite him

    O.o

  • OMG your horses are VERY CUTE!!! Glad nobody was hurt.

  • OI!

that is my horse so just like leave him alone.

Well not the one that bucked

  • dunno y people are getting worked up about it cos it doesn't really matter just catching them in and needed to keep them busy while nancy put the headcollars on :)

  • well yeah that was my point friendly as they are all bets are off when food is involved. Like i said try join up it really helps if your having problems catching without treats

  • No but allowing them both to eat out of the same bucket time and time again there were threats. Iam just saying next you might want to halter them first b4 bringing food in the mix. If they are not keen on been caught have a go at doing the monty roberts method of join up it really helps and may mean you wont have to use a feed bucket anymore :)

  • there are 83 horses at this place. there is no way they are going to be able to retrain all of them. and they were TRYING to catch them, which is why they brought grain in BEFORE haltering them. these horses are usually best friends, and the one who kicked is very shy.

  • read the description, WE WERE NOT FEEDING THEM.

  • And I get you were catching them and not just feeding them my point was one feed bucket two horses trying to get at the feed the results are obvious. Iam not trying to contradict anyone here just saying it isnt a shock that one of the horses kicked out thats it really.

  • well feeding two horses neither under control with one bucket of feed i mean no shock that kicking started

  • she wasn't feeding them, she was trying to catch them. they don't like to be caught, so she always brings a bucket of feed to catch them, which is why she had halters and was putting them on the horses.

  • We understand what you are saying..but the fact of the matter is the horse got mad because he was not getting any grain...that is why he kicked out. We all use grain to catch horses...The horse sees it as food, for eating...plain and simple.

  • @kendollyXC Well, what it looked like was she was just feeding them, letting the bucket tip over while she halters a horse and just lets the horse go and the leadrope drags on the ground.

  • @xUniquelyCommonx which is silly with nervous horses, any horse infact cuz if ther stand on the rope they wil scare themselves. simple horse handling really

  • @nicwatson5152 ignore me iv just watched it again and notice u had put it over the horses neck :) apologise :)

  • Comment removed

  • @dragoon650

Thats what you normally do to catch horses that dont like to be caught :P

  • @TulipsKiss11 yeah but one bucket and two horses isnt very clever should have taken two in then it would have been easier at the end of the day thats how accidents happen. A simple mistake but a dangerous one

  • @TulipsKiss11 yeah but one bucket and more then one horse it's obvious whats going to happen just saying that was the most clever thing ive ever seen lol. It's funny only cause it was a near miss just saying might wanna take a couple of buckets next time then bother horses will be busy and you catch which ever one you want :)

  • Glad nobody got hurt though beautifull horses.

  • that was close :S

  • Yeah that could have ended badly.

    They're really beautiful horses.

  • Who are tha horses?
