Basant, Lahore, Pakistan: Stray Kite (Kati Patang) film about ban on Kite Flying

Basant in Pakistan is a totally Pakistani festival and something to be proud of. Still the powers to be MUST put a ban on it (under the guise of safety) simply because of the festivals Hindu roots (in spite of people on this video insist). "We do not know who we are, but we know we are not Hindus and must eliminate every trace of Hindu culture from our land" .

its wrong to ban this game becoz 90%+ people kill during the ban.and 270 people also die because of .so many people,even birds animals kill daily by road accidents.then these thing also ban and stop.india r very happy.this sport can be safehunger and heart attack.if a child die with dorr on the other hand a child also die with hunger & non giving medicines for ever. if people install safety rods in their bikes if they love their child and gov ban thick threads.and make rule of law.

It's the right step to ban this game cuz you cannot educate a nation like us. You lift the ban and see yourself. It would take years to educate us. This sport is highly dangerous and unhealthy not only for humans but for our environment as well. People die, hundreds of Birds get injured, water gets polluted which is dangerous for water animals plus it's a waste of money for a BROKE nation like Pakistan.

If some people are jobless ask them to find other job but you can not simply kill people.

Good job but u have only showed us the positive side of it but you forgot to include those people who have been killed coz of this bassant and how there families are doing right now without their live ones.

Every image has two sides, as you mentioned about the families of the people who died on Basant but on the other hands there are families who are suffring due to ban on kite flying. This includes kite makers, kite sellers, thread makers and so on. They are not just few hundred people but they are countless and they are in this profession for decades.

Purpose of this film is to highlight the core issues due to which all these sad incidents took place.

government should take some steps so that this exciting event could be restart without any disadvantages of lives. one of the major reason of deaths is :

big kites . because for large kites heavy string is required to fly that kind of kites. i thing there should not be kites larger than 'tawa'.
