I'm a Falcons fan and I will never respect them until they get a more stable defense. Aaron Rodgers embarrassed us on national television... in front of our home crowd. Of course I didn't want it to happen that way, but I'm glad that somebody did it. Now the Falcons can actually fill in that defense instead of relying on the offense to have long drives every time.
I feel a man. I mean everytime I watc ESPN...they always talk about Drew Brees and Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers like they can freakin' walk on water. And my boy Matty Ice gets absolutely no credit. I mean for god sakes, he lead the ATL Dirty Birds 2 their first consecutive winning seasons in their 40+ year history...i think that alone is worth a little recognition.

Ah ive always been a falcon fan im 23 always loved alanta i remeber the bad seasons and the 98 season they didnt get any props then and they was like 12-4 i think. but it pisses me off that Steelers are getting ads?! WTF they lost the superbowl i mean i give GB credit they the champs and why havent i saw one GB ad?! i think its just politics they just dont think Alanta is a money maker who knows. Tonight's result against the Green bay Packers is the biggest reason why they get no love! One and done as the 1 seed in the playoffs. Their schedule also plays a factor as well as the fact that Atlanta isn''t a big money market football franchise like NY, Philly, NE, Indy, etc... Biggest reason, they choke when they finally get the spotlight!!
they only beat the saints once because of a 29 yard field goal miss by saints( which by the way would have made the saints the NFC 1 seed) in overtime, falcons loss the second time, and now you see.....why no one gave them credit

@ddupre3 hey, if brees would have thrown a TD on 3rd down instead of forcing a 4th down FG attempt, the saints wouldnt have missed it. you can make that excuse, but the fact is, there are opportunities in every game. and if you dont take advantage of them, your probably gonna lose.
On a lighter note, I am willing to bet that NFC south teams will be attending super bowls very frequently in the next 10 years.
I agree with you man, not just because im the biggest Atlanta fan in the world, but I feel that ESPN and other sports programs don't give enough credit to the Atlanta Falcons and the hard work they have put in this year. They use to be one of the worst football franchises. If anything they should be getting all of the attention.

The Falcons get no love because ESPN and all the other huge networks love to hate the Southern teams. It was the same with the Saints last year. Even when the Saints went to the superbowl we got no respect. ESPN is all over these Northern teams jocks. Patriots, Bears, Giants, Eagles Jets.... They love. But championships are won on the field not in some studio room.. Keep hatin ESPN!!

As great as The Falcons are, there are a few reasons. *Written before I watched the video* First off, they've won close games, and one of them has been controversial (Ravens game) . The Falcons, unlike NE, have played a decent amount of very close games. Secondly, the team in the NFC getting all the talk is Philly. Everybody is talking about Vick, and with the media being the way it is, nobody is going to cover the falcons when you can cover the amazing "comeback" story of Vick.
the media has to find a way to bring the falcons down. earlier it was they could not win on the road. now its they have a weak schedule... im not saying they are unbeatable, but it seems to me there is always one KEY area the falcons are missing to make the superbowl, according to the so callled "experts" anyway. trent dilfer is the worst of them all, saying today he thinks the saints will beat the falcons next week and in the playoffs.....
Unless your team is named the Cowboys or you have Manning, Brady or Favre on your team, you won't get much media exposure. Winning a Super Bowl will put the Falcons on the map, but I don't wanna talk about the big game yet.
Might be the defense. The Pats defense has pretty much caught up to the offense. The Falcons D has been pretty up n down all year. They're towards the middle of the pack in defense n they've out the offense in some tough spots to have to come back from. Granted the offense is great. But I think because of defense people aren't seeing them makin the same impact during the play offs that they think the Pats will. (NOT A PATRIOTS FAN!!!)
@thisizn8 the falcons d has been far more consistent than the pats.... they are both good and have key players too make it in the long run. the fact is the falcons always get turnovers and stops when they need too. and if somehow they dont, they have confidence in their offence to make a play. yeah their not that great statistically but netheir are the pats, yet no one brings that up....

Idk exact statistics but I do know that the Falcons have rarely blown anyone out (I cant even remember one this year) and it seems like they're forced into a comeback a lot. i don't understand why NE, NO, & philly are getting more love. NE lost to CLE. NO got whipped by CLE and also lost to ARI! they also get lucky comebacks against DAL, CIN, & CAR. ATL smashed ARI & CAR & unlike the other two, beat CLE. yes, philly is damn good & beat ATL but they are 10-4, not 12-2. all i know is that ATL's 2 l's are to good teams early on and not ugly losses. tired of the lack of respect, but maybe its for the best. hope to see ATL beat vick/philly in the nfc champ game.
They really don't give the falcons respect and I prefer it that way. Because we're only gonna prove people wrong in the play offs. The schedule can't be used as an excuse. Ravens, Packers, Saints, Bucs twice, Browns on the road (who beat the pats.) I mean we haven't had an easy schedule. I guess we're not flashy enough for the analysts. But its cool. @CDuBBProductions Well, that's not entirely true. Our team improved since the Eagles game. The O-line changed their protection scheme, playcalling improved both on Off and Def. The result of all that? 8 straight wins averaging almost 30 ppg on offense. Our defense is not as bad as you think, we allow 18.6 ppg (5th in the NFL) and we generate turnovers.
The falcons are a good team but there not that exciting that probably why there a team that kills ppl because they can keep the ball for a long time with 5 yards here 8 years here then they go for the kill where a team like the eagle are a big player making team fun to watch plus alot of crazy stuffs been happening this year that's overshadowed there success in the headlines but ppl definitly now there a threat

Simple. When was the last time the Falcons won a Superbowl? How green is that team anyway, I'm too lazy to check, are they expansion? They mostly win at home, no legacy to speak of, and Vick was the biggest thing to ever happen to them, as far as I can recall. Of course, I never really paid too much attention to the NFL before 2000, so if I'm wrong, I stand corrected.
@thanosied that gives the media more attention for the falcons. considering they have never been this good. the falcons are also 6-2 on the road. and have won 4 in a row. the fact is the media says the same stuff about the falcons that they are balanced and good but you wouldnt think that they have the same record as the patriots, the way the media (especially trent dilfer) sucks them off. they nearly lost to a backup qb but you dont hear about that, you hear about how great they are.....

i like the falcons i like matty ryan...but their schedule wasnt that tough...and the tough games they had they lost...so they beat kinda poor teams..givin not all of them are that bad, a couple are pretty good, but the pats have beaten the jets, colts, steelers, bears and they were all contenders. just sayin if they had a harder schedule they would be looked at the way the patriots are.

They're not a "controversial" team like the Vikings, or an "exciting" team like the Eagles. But the players come to work everyday, play hard and don't talk smack or showboat on the field (a la DeSean Jackson at the end of the Giants game)
People just don't show lots of recognition because they're not a "big market" team like the Giants/Pats/Eagles. More people up north follow NFL, down here in the ATL college football reigns supreme.
I've been asking myself this question all year. We keep winning. And yet all I hear about are the Eagles(Mike Vick), Pats(Tom Brady) and the Vikings(Brett Favre).
1- The Vikings and Brett Favre have been terrible.
2- The Eagles are being figured out by teams. If the Giants didn't fall apart, they would've won. They almost lost to the Cowboys. They DID lose to the Bears.
I know Mike Vick. Sooner or later, he's gonna come crashing down to Earth
because they are a futile franchise. even if this current falcons team is good, i still think of futility. and my eagles have beaten them 18 straight games.

Classically and Ironically, The ATL is a small market for football. Their record is a kinda crappy 275–400–6 all time. That's how it happens. Just wait and see what happens in the playoffs.

as a long time ATL fan I always wonder why no Atlanta team ever gets respect when all of the are always playoff contenders. (Hawks Braves and now Falcons) People need to realize that ATL isn't going away and we will show everyone come February.

Hawks, made second round last year but they were going seven games with a bad bucks team missing there center Bogut. Bucs had a chance to win that series at home game 6 but they didnt. As great as The Falcons are, there are a few reasons. *Written before I watched the video* First off, they've won close games, and one of them has been controversial (Ravens game) . The Falcons, unlike NE, have played a decent amount of very close games. Secondly, the team in the NFC getting all the talk is Philly. Everybody is talking about Vick, and with the media being the way it is, nobody is going to cover the falcons when you can cover the amazing "comeback" story of Vick.

the media has to find a way to bring the falcons down. earlier it was they could not win on the road. now its they have a weak schedule... im not saying they are unbeatable, but it seems to me there is always one KEY area the falcons are missing to make the superbowl, according to the so callled "experts" anyway. trent dilfer is the worst of them all, saying today he thinks the saints will beat the falcons next week and in the playoffs.....

Might be the defense. The Pats defense has pretty much caught up to the offense. The Falcons D has been pretty up n down all year. They're towards the middle of the pack in defense n they've out the offense in some tough spots to have to come back from. Granted the offense is great. But I think because of defense people aren't seeing them makin the same impact during the play offs that they think the Pats will. (NOT A PATRIOTS FAN!!!)

i don't understand why NE, NO, & philly are getting more love. NE lost to CLE. NO got whipped by CLE and also lost to ARI! they also get lucky comebacks against DAL, CIN, & CAR. ATL smashed ARI & CAR & unlike the other two, beat CLE. yes, philly is damn good & beat ATL but they are 10-4, not 12-2. all i know is that ATL's 2 l's are to good teams early on and not ugly losses. tired of the lack of respect, but maybe its for the best. hope to see ATL beat vick/philly in the nfc champ game.

They really don't give the falcons respect and I prefer it that way. Because we're only gonna prove people wrong in the play offs. The schedule can't be used as an excuse. Ravens, Packers, Saints, Bucs twice, Browns on the road (who beat the pats.) I mean we haven't had an easy schedule. I guess we're not flashy enough for the analysts. But its cool. @CDuBBProductions Well, that's not entirely true. Our team improved since the Eagles game. The O-line changed their protection scheme, playcalling improved both on Off and Def. The result of all that? 8 straight wins averaging almost 30 ppg on offense. Our defense is not as bad as you think, we allow 18.6 ppg (5th in the NFL) and we generate turnovers.

Simple. When was the last time the Falcons won a Superbowl? How green is that team anyway, I'm too lazy to check, are they expansion? They mostly win at home, no legacy to speak of, and Vick was the biggest thing to ever happen to them, as far as I can recall. Of course, I never really paid too much attention to the NFL before 2000, so if I'm wrong, I stand corrected.

@thanosied that gives the media more attention for the falcons. considering they have never been this good. the falcons are also 6-2 on the road. and have won 4 in a row. the fact is the media says the same stuff about the falcons that they are balanced and good but you wouldnt think that they have the same record as the patriots, the way the media (especially trent dilfer) sucks them off. they nearly lost to a backup qb but you dont hear about that, you hear about how great they are.....

i like the falcons i like matty ryan...but their schedule wasnt that tough...and the tough games they had they lost...so they beat kinda poor teams..givin not all of them are that bad, a couple are pretty good, but the pats have beaten the jets, colts, steelers, bears and they were all contenders. just sayin if they had a harder schedule they would be looked at the way the patriots are.

They're not a "controversial" team like the Vikings, or an "exciting" team like the Eagles. But the players come to work everyday, play hard and don't talk smack or showboat on the field (a la DeSean Jackson at the end of the Giants game)
People just don't show lots of recognition because they're not a "big market" team like the Giants/Pats/Eagles. More people up north follow NFL, down here in the ATL college football reigns supreme.

I've been asking myself this question all year. We keep winning. And yet all I hear about are the Eagles(Mike Vick), Pats(Tom Brady) and the Vikings(Brett Favre).
1- The Vikings and Brett Favre have been terrible.
2- The Eagles are being figured out by teams. If the Giants didn't fall apart, they would've won. They almost lost to the Cowboys. They DID lose to the Bears.

also we beat the RAVENS, PACKERS (w/ rodgers healthy), SAINTS, took the steelers to overtime, TB twice (they are over 500), RAMS at their place, and other good wins too. we are an amazing home team and a good away team. seeing as we will have home field advantage (where we are 20-1 w/ mattyice as our starter), 2 more wins shouldnt be too much to ask. i smell a SB appearance!
