Hmm germans forgot what Volkswagen means. (The peoples car.) Hitler, prior to WWII, wanted a car that was affordable to the masses. that could be fixed by the owner and could go 100kmh on the autobahns. Noadays noone can afford buying VW cause of its price and not worth for what it gives. VW SUCK MY ASS
@Cougar545x39 germany hasn't same salary as my country in addition you get it a lot cheaper because it is manufactured there. Do you get it ? This fucking little shit VW polo costs 16 .000 euro here.
@Cougar545x39 since Opel corsa that is in same category sells it at 13.000 why to get Polo ? enough said i'm not gonna discuss my country's problems with german fascists
Read in the newspaper a few days ago that Ford are planning to launch the Fiesta in the US in 2010. Apparently they already have 80,000 pre-orders for them.
EKJ, on another note I have clocked my '1994 civic at 32mpg and thats on a 15 year old engine with 150k miles. Thats on par with most of the new "economy" cars for sale here right now and this is the "sporty" civic with the vtec engine that has been redesigned three times since. It just seems like none of the companies have gotten more efficient. Actually, they may be getting less efficient.
keep in mind that cars are way heavier today then they were 15 years ago - this due to all of that safety and comfort equipment they're stuffed with. So if you put a modern engine in your 15 year old civic, it would a - go much faster, b - be way more fuel efficient.
well we have 4 cylinder cars 2 usually 2.5 or 2.0 liters with roughly 170 hp. theres also some 1.8 L engines but thats for old ppl. we like to have powerfull engines so most are either 2.5L (minimum), or 3.5L (usually).
The majority of cars in Europe are 4 cylinders but there are quite a few 3 cylinder models. Most European engines are 1.0L to 2.0L mainly 1.2L 1.4L 1.6L or 1.8L
No offense meant or anything but 12 seconds is obviously pretty slow. What I never understood is why they ramp up the power a little bit in cars like the Fit and Versa so they get like 30-35mpg but are still slow as all hell. I would rather get 50,60,70, etc. and be a bit slower sort of like the Fiesta and Polo do. Its not like people buy an economy car for speed anyway. It just gets me because there is no 3 cylinder car for sale over here right now that I know of.
I see what your saying. But to me It seems like theres a niche in the American market for small engined cars that no one is cashing in on. Besides small engines don't have to be slow, take the Mini Cooper S or Abarth 500 for example. Small engines fitted with Turbo chargers still give low emissions and high MPG.
well, nobody really notices the small cars that's why. nobody cares when they see a prius passing by, but when someone sees a big V6 camaro they stop and stare
I used to have an Opel Corsa OPC which was quite good. I only really bought it for the way it looked. It wasnt a V6 or anything but people used to stop and stare at it.
WOW! very imaginative of vw... now that i see a smaller golf i say "no thanks for me!" I think it will be the new CLIO 3 with facelift... yes yes yes!
but I have heard that it will come next year 2010, I've bought mine anyway, it might be an old version, but I like it very much because it's a fantastic car.
please bring this to the States with a diesel version!!

I've never understood why they don't have small cars in America. Seems like every car is a V6 or somthing over their.
